Energising offensively

1455

I’ve spoken to many Celtic fans over the last couple of days but I’ve not met one who would have preferred Roy Keane to be our manager instead of Ronny Deila.  Despite some impeccable references, Ronny is a largely unknown character, but there is an appreciation among the support that we need to come up with a plan to enable the club to over-achieve in Europe.

The man’s performance at the media conference was faultless.  It’s not important to quick-witted but his use of words like “energise” and “offensive” is promising.  Football is in the entertainment business and Ronny appears to appreciate the link between the way his team perform, not just their results, and the ultimate satisfaction supporters’ leave the ground with.

Our thanks to the Greenock Celtic Supporters Club for hosting last night’s CQN Lions fundraiser for the Celtic FC Foundation.  We were fortunate to be entertained by Willie Wallace, John Hughes and Bertie Auld, it was a fantastic night, full of laughs.

Special thanks to those who attended and helped raise over £2000 for the Foundation, and to those who promised to get involved with the Foundation.  The club is in good hands with supporters like those in Greenock last night.  Big shout to Joe and Mick for bringing a familiar old friend along.

I agree with both on that

I also seen a few comments on Kris Commons fitting with new coach, I would be more worried if I was James Forrest ? If the new coaches philosophy of football is to be played

& possibly Scott Brown, based on the amount of times he gives away possession ?

Might be naughty, but I think that there should be no representation without taxation.

Something similar worked for the Americans.

If you don’t live in the jurisdiction, then you don’t really know the day to day ramifications of Government and how it effects the individual.

Be a good citizen of the country you live in, work in and raise your families in and leave every other country to do the same.

Failing that, send an equivalent tax donation.

  12. Justafan,

Have you seen him when he loses the ball ? Arms in the air or just stops

Work ethic for the team in supporting others is mostly non existent

    But

He is young and this could change with coaching

( and yes there is a player there to be worked on, think he does less work than Kris off the ball, hence comment)

  21. On a more serious note, I’m pretty sure that Henrik appreciated MO’N buying players of the quality of Sutton and Hartson to support him up front, and that his own play benefitted greatly from the manager’s astute signings.

You know, the manager who turned a 21 point deficit from the previous season into a 15 point winning margin in his first season in charge. A 36 point turnaround against financially-doped up opponents.

I remember leaving Paradise near the end of his second season in charge, and saying to my mate: “I can’t remember the last time we lost here!”

Not a statement you could make too often in the previous decade.

Too many people with short memories.

  25. No doubt the SFA et al would prefer that this dispute between Sevco and Dundee Utd be resolved without having to resort to the law courts.

Of course, no club in the land would act in such a way, to ignore that famous FIFA statute about no club taking a dispute to the law courts. Oops. Too late.

As I recall, the SFA did SFA about that one.

The problem here is that this issue is in fact, a matter of Law, not SFA rules.

Should Sevco pursue this dispute through a court of law, (ignoring the FIFA statute again) in order for them to win their case, they would have to set a precedent for Pheonixing which the government & HMRC in particular are actively clamping down on.

What should really have happened already is that the government and HMRC should have stepped in to stop Sevco operating under the guise of a liquidated company.

The law quite clearly states that no business having gone into liquidation can restart under the same guise as the liquidated company. There should be no confusion regarding whether this is an entirely new business.

In this case, Sevco have deliberately set out to state that they ARE the same business.

It is way overdue that the Law be applied to this charade.
