ENGLISH EYES ON CELT

CALVIN MILLER is being eyed by English League One outfit Portsmouth before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The 21-year-old Celtic left-back could be on his way to Fratton Park on a season-long loan, according to the local press.

Miller, who made his first-team debut for the Hoops in December 2016, has not figured in Neil Lennon’s matchday squads in this campaign.

The attack-minded defender spent the first half of last term on a temporary switch to Dundee and then moved in a similar deal to Championship outfit Ayr United for the second part.of the campaign.

Miller has made just five appearances for the champions since emerging through their youth ranks and Pompey boss Kenny Jackett could offer him game-time with his side.

His contract with the Parkhead side is due to expire at the end of the season.

Lennon looked to Jonny Hayes to fill the No.3 position in the run-in to the previous campaign when Kieran Tierney was sidelined with a hernia problem.

The fans’ favourite joined Arsenal in a £25million switch earlier this month, but the Hoops boss has now added Boli Bolingoli, £3million from Rapid Vienna, to his pool and he is still on the look-out for another left-back before the window closes.
