ENGLISH TARGET HOOPS WONDERBHOY

CELTIC wonder Bhoy Ben Doak is being eyed by Liverpool.

The Anfield club are stepping up their interest in the 16-year-old winger, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Ange Postecoglou has given Doak two substitute cameo appearances, the highly-rated kid has yet to agree a professional contract with the Hoops.

It would mean the Parkhead club would only receive a minimal fee for Doak who made his debut in the 1-0 win over Dundee United on January 29 when he came on for Anthony Ralston in the 66th minute and then he came on for Filipe Jota for the final three minutes of the 3-0 victory over Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox side four nights later.

His first outing made him the club’s second-youngest-ever player, behind Jack Aitchison who also scored in his first match as a substitute in a 7-0 win over Motherwell at Parkhead on May 15 at the end of season 2015/16.

The striker, now 22, is currently on loan at Forest Green Rovers after leaving Celtic for Barnsley.
