ENRICO ANNONI is looking forward to making his Celtic comeback after an 18-year absence.
The versatile Italian defender, now 50, played only two years at Parkhead after joining from Roma in 1997.
But he is delighted to be returning to play his part in the Henrik’s Heroes v Lubo’s Legends charity match on Sunday, May 28 in aid of Celtic FC Foundation.
Annoni said: “My favourite memory of Celtic Park was my last match because the stadium was full and the fans were singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.’
Looking ahead to the May showpiece, he said: “With Lubo, I didn’t have time to build a friendship because when he arrived I then left Celtic.
“With Henrik, I will always have memories as he was a big friend.
“Celtic will always remain in my heart. I am proud and happy to have played for these colours.”
The Italian is particularly pleased that the proceeds of the match will go to Celtic FC Foundation.
He added: “The Foundation always has good initiatives. These types of occasion show how people at the club care about charity.”
