Ethics of exposing a vulnerable man, Pythonesque statement

337

You know what I think, defeats from rivals only do limited damage, the toxic poison comes from within.  Internecine strife, Bear on Bear action, can rip Newco apart.

I don’t know what Lee Wallace and our old pal Kenny Miller said to Graeme Murty on Sunday, but if it was along the lines of ‘You are out of your depth, incapable of operating at this level and exposed for what you are’, they would be correct.  That doesn’t make them right, though.

Speaking truth to the boss sounds like a good idea but commonly all it does is isolate you, weaken the boss and make everyone’s job more difficult.  Kenny Miller reached the Champions League knock out stages under Gordon Strachan, he knows what a good manager looks like.  Along with the rest of the world, he knows Murty is vulnerable and out of his depth, but it is not ethically, or tactically, a good thing to expose his vulnerability.

Whatever Miller and Wallace said was almost certainly right, but ethically it is up there with the solicitor-cum-tax advisor-cum-porn star-cum-convict Paul Baxendale Walker, who was Sir David Murray’s chief architect at Oldco and who faced a bankruptcy court hearing this week.

What an absolute shower.

Loved the statements yesterday.  ‘We’re so upset we are going to be quiet’, is Pythonesque.  It sits alongside ‘I fart in your general direction’ as an absurd masterpiece.

Just brilliant that another fan group caught the zeitgeist by telling fans “Millions have been ploughed into the club by the current board”.  So let’s not be hastily apportioning blame to Dave and Co.  I hope neither group realise how much fun they give.

Tontine Or the Scotland manager job.

*when I saw the blanket protest at bader park I thought about the last time they demanded “we deserve better”, it was as a result of paul ‘I only go tae Mss at Christmas and Easter” stripping bammy of the runic insignia.

The Ayrshire rag and bone man in an effort tae quell the mob sugar lumped plg, brought naesurname and chauncey brought back much tae the disdain of the new UEFA ceo/secretary who had just departed his sfa ceo position and then started spending OPM.

His replacement at hunden was mcurine, nae wonder Scottish football is the laughing stock of the game and all roads lead back tae bader. Prior tae him ruining our game we as a country of only 5 million and had pioneered the game world wide and fared well in club and international tournaments.

My nephews have just confirmed that in the last decade, they have never heard of a player who has been drug tested by the SFA.

    Morales should be tested first.

Peter Latchford was a tough Brummy madman.

The best Celtic goalie ever is my fellow Polish country brother Artur Boruc. The 2nd Celtic holy goalie following BT’s da John Fallon.

The other half of my family are from Sligo, where the Fallons are from. My mammy’s Uncle James Delaney fae Cleland was a Celtic Superstar too.

Give us a wave, Peter Latchford.

I used to love the big man for that, he never let us down.

Of course, his brother Dave was a goalie too, with the Brum

Not forgetting brother Bob too, scored plently for Everton and I’m fairly sure Bob was capped for England.

Pretty impressive going for 3 brothers.

    Hail Hail

I remember his debut against Thistle, I think?

My dad had a few haufs pre match that day.

When big Gas Meter flung the ball in the net, my dad, who never slagged any Celtic player, screamed,”Go back to England ya useless, stupit lookin excuse for a keeper.”

Always remember my dad that match.

  21. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotpaul, Peter Latchford’s goalkeeping brother, Dave , player for Motherwell for a season or two.

My favourite Peter Latchford moment was his celebration at the end of the 1980 cup final when he caught the ball, the final whistle blew , then a simple and in the air celebration.

Give us a wave , Peter Latchford

  22. Ron Bacardi / Big Packy –

I’ve been in KevJ’s presence twice. The first was the Fans Against Criminalisation rally in George Square 4(?) years ago when he briefly made his introductions to a group of CQNrs and then went ‘aff oot’!

The other occasion was at a Q&A evening in Blantyre where the panel included Paul67 and Phil MacGiollabhain.

He certainly is a Celtic Man. But his methods of demonstrating that aren’t commonly replicated by most of the folk that post on here.

  23. Down in a very sunny Manchester, just picking up on a couple of things. Jorge Cadette was a great player for us, a beacon of sunshine in some tough times. I hope he prospers and will always be looked on fondly by myself.

I remember being drowned in beer in a bar in Tenerife when he scored the great goal wrongly disallowed at Ipox, it was nearly 5 minutes before I was told it had been chalked off. A very euphoric 5 minutes of my life. On retrospect I can think fondly now, at the time it took me a few days to recover.

Back 3rd from right if that’s Jim Casey I got them all. If not who is it?
