EUROPA D-DAY FOR AJER

NEIL LENNON should know today if Kristoffer Ajer will be fit for the Europa League visit of AIK Stockholm on Thursday night.

The towering Norwegian had to be helped off during the nervy 2-1 League Cup extra-time win over Championship side Dunfermline at Parkhead on Saturday.

Lennon had to switch midfielder Nir Bitton to central defence to accompany £7million French star Christian Jullien and bring on Olivier Ntcham as he made emergency contigency plans against the Fifers.

Ajer fell awkwardly following a challenge and at first it looked as though he had popped his shoulder.

The Hoops boss is expecting an update today on the injury situation.

Lennon revealed after the game he was confident the 21-year-old utility player would be fit for the first leg play-off against AIK and medical staff are expected to confirm the position as the manager begins making plans for the clash with the Swedes.
