Thoughts of strikers we might have in the future should be nowhere near minds as we prepare to take on Dundee United at Celtic Park tomorrow. If it’s Johnny Kenny up front, back him. Same goes for Shin, Daizen or even Benjamin Nygren (don’t mock me, he knows where the goal is better than anyone in the squad).
The return of Martin has expectations sailing higher than they have been since his departure last month (it feels longer, right?), but there are reasons to be cautious. United bossed the same Celtic squad three weeks ago and have already taken a draw at Tynecastle and Ibrox this season. Anything less than 100% from the champions and they will do so again.
This game is reminiscent of that pivotal match against United four years ago this month. With the score at 0-0 and Celtic down to 10 men, Liel Abada scored a 90th minute winner to give us the chance to go top of the table next time out. That Celtic team is one we all remember fondly. They built the platform for the subsequent trophy haul, but even they needed to squeeze every ounce of energy and backing to get the result.
The same tomorrow, please.

This is a bit mental. Lass got a wildcard to play in a tennis tournament and doesn’t appear to be able to play the game.
Happy Friday!

MON now finding out ,we don’t have a ‘ football department ‘

9 days into a window where everyone knows we need strikers we’ve added none, MON cannot turn water into wine.
Failure to win tomorrow will see the air drain from the balloon.
Talking of balloons, what is our hapless CEO doing about getting players in? A loan right back (for a now abandoned 3-4-3 system) and the latest in a long line of uninspiring project punts for the right wing (ignoring the tone deaf politics) is hardly meeting the moment.
Not a man to manage us out of a crisis of his own creation is he? In Martin, Shaun and Foz we trust.
Nicholson out, Green Brigade in.
“If we don’t have a striker in by tomorrow”
How damning is that sentence?
Every bit of backing required tomorrow whilst board is at war with fans and our most vocal group are banned.
Meanwhile at ibrokes their high heidyin sits down to outline their plans and strategy with fan groups.
You begin to wonder if winning nothing this season would actually be the catalyst for change.
How pathetic are those who run our club. Rotten to the core.
World class in NOTHING we do…..
Backing from the board would be great.

Cheers! Today going to be a lot better.
HH!
ONIL- This Board is the equivalent of The White House, deny everything and blame everyone else,if we won nothing, it wouldn’t change them.
I’m expecting a ‘new manager bounce’ will get us through tomorrow.
Thereafter?
I’ll be deeply disappointed if reinforcements don’t arrive before Falkirk.

Wilderness years on the way.
“That Celtic team is one we all remember fondly.”
——————–
Indeed. And it could have been even more fondly. 2-3 first team players onto what we had at the end of the 22-23 season and we would have had a competitive CL team.
Instead we lost Jota, Starfelt and Mooy – none adequately replaced. Abada gone a few months later.
Complete lack of ambition. But, hey, we got an old firm title race!

Does our board know you can source players between windows? Instead of just getting an old photo album out when windows open?
World Class mediocrity.
One of the reasons why I am worried about Martin returning (again) is that his legacy will be tarnished by a board who are continuing on a downward spiral.
Martinez? Maybe somebody was trying to find the CVs from 2019 and they dug up the candidate list from 2009……?
They are enabling genocide now. This board cannot now sink any lower.
All quiet on the transfer front . That’ll be because our ultra professional board are lining up several game changing deals in an under -the-radar ,discreet way .
Won’t it ?
How exciting !!

“Despite comments on ‘unity within the stadium’ from Celtic chairman Brian Wilson, and an open letter from the @CFC_Collective to Wilson seeking dialogue, the Green Brigade remains banned for tomorrow’s match and no dialogue has been forthcoming.”
Unity my ass ….it would be an interesting study …home games with and without Green Brigade…points gained and lost …..don’t think it would matter to this board if it were proven to be a 70% swing ….they think every ill is everything to do with anyone but them …not one ounce of humility. …not one thought that we might be wrong in this one ( on anything) . Meanwhile others can do as they please without any sort of punishment or recriminations
The huns boldly flew a loyalist paramilitary flag at celtic park but no doubt our board and the authorities prefer that to a Palestinian flag !!!
The huns injured one of their own recently with a pyrotechnic display….any recriminations??….any bans ? any fullscale inquiry??…..not a jot ….and yet you know for a fact if it had been the GB …hold the front page !!
I see young Connor Barron is out for around 3 months with a knee injury. He’s been their most influential player in recent months.

Apparently she is a highly competent tennis professional who was coached that way by her recently arrived tennis coach, Wilfried Nancy.
He was heard saying after the match, that winning isn’t everything (nor knowing which side of the court to stand on when receiving a serve) and he sees signs of improvement!

You often ask .
Who would you buy .
I would be trying to buy Kaio Jorge from Brazilian club Cruziero.
He’s 20.
It’s strong , fast , skilful and a good finisher .
He would cost £10 m to £12 m .
If we could get a work permit for him .
His resale potential is vast .

I thought, surely, this week would see the GB back in the stadium. Time yet, but unlikely. Wilson failing to get a wee bit of favour.

Good news. You get the impression their resurgence is based on shaky foundations – they looked so short on confidence in the first half against us that a blow like losing Barron could really set them back.
But theyre signing a big lump of a defensive midfielder for a few quid, hopefully hes another failure
It’s just a constant problem now, every transfer window, deals too slow getting done. Nicholson needs to go and very soon.
TinyTim on 9th January 2026 1:30 pm
£10-12M?
Not a hope in hell of them spending even a quarter of that on a player.
A clean sheet and a scrappy win with a goal off JK’s bum or Shin’s Shin would do me
I’m hoping that while we’re likely to get fewer chances a less frantic approach might give us an extra split second dor a bit of composure in front of goal
Seeing Kele on the bench would be a lift as well
Battered bunnet…probably why they’re going to immediately buy another midfielder…..never catch on
MoN will go with Maeda as his striker. He’d dropped Kenny before Nancy came in and Kenny hasn’t exactly excelled since Nancy recalled him to the team.
Yamada is the football equivalent of that tennis player who got the wild card. His Celtic wild card should expire this month and he should be sent somewhere, anywhere, on loan or preferably, a permanent transfer.
Nygren is too slow to play upfront.
Devils advocate, if I may
‘Unity’ may require compromise and a meeting of minds.
Do the banned fans expect to be brought back into the fold, so that they can call for the removal of those who let them back in?
What about pyros and other actions likley to result in a fine? Has agreement been reached here?
I suspect there needs to be some quick but frank dialogue before the covers are removed.
As I say, Devils advocate only
I want all fans in and a united Celtic all seeing everyone do what they are best at
AD- I would agree re Nygren, but we get the ball in the box more now, so I would play him CF
