Every ounce of energy and backing required

257

Thoughts of strikers we might have in the future should be nowhere near minds as we prepare to take on Dundee United at Celtic Park tomorrow.  If it’s Johnny Kenny up front, back him.  Same goes for Shin, Daizen or even Benjamin Nygren (don’t mock me, he knows where the goal is better than anyone in the squad).

The return of Martin has expectations sailing higher than they have been since his departure last month (it feels longer, right?), but there are reasons to be cautious.  United bossed the same Celtic squad three weeks ago and have already taken a draw at Tynecastle and Ibrox this season. Anything less than 100% from the champions and they will do so again.

This game is reminiscent of that pivotal match against United four years ago this month.  With the score at 0-0 and Celtic down to 10 men, Liel Abada scored a 90th minute winner to give us the chance to go top of the table next time out.  That Celtic team is one we all remember fondly.  They built the platform for the subsequent trophy haul, but even they needed to squeeze every ounce of energy and backing to get the result.

The same tomorrow, please.

Battered bunnet…probably why they’re going to immediately buy another midfielder…..never catch on

Not the case. They had this lined up before Barron got injured

  2. So, no olive branch, no peace talks (despite MON’s wish) therefore, no change and no atmosphere.

Except the toxic one still surrounding the board.

They thought binning Nancy was enough.

    Is it feck!

New left winger signed according to reports.

With our right wing, Zionist board, I doubt that,😉

If they thought dismissing Nancy and bringing back Martin O’Neill would grant them respite, they are in for a rude awakening. The old playbook, where such machinations were met with weary acceptance, is obsolete. It’s now apparent the club’s interests are not their priority. Consequently, every board move is watched, every stock exchange fluctuation investigated, every statement forensically audited. This poses no issue to the innocent. But for those with something to conceal, it makes for a deeply uncomfortable existence.

    Respite day was Monday

Back to Brendan and the fat goalies fault by Tuesday.

We never got a Wifried Nancy article or even a Paul Tisdale blame bulletin.

    March with O’Neill 🍀

Many thanks for the Peter Oborne interview. It was very interesting. I thought he got quite emotional in the final minutes when he was giving his thoughts on Farage possibly getting into power.

I remember that Abada goal vividly.

Great cross from the right from Jota, fantastic first touch and a really clever scoop finish closing his foot at the last second to outwit the goalie.

Earlier that day, R2ngers had conceded an injury time equaliser to Ross County, so this was a key victory for us.

We were still behind in the league but I recall walking away from Celtic Park thinking

“We are going to win the league”

    Just a brilliant day.

They obviously believe that appointing Martin will stop any protests……how deluded…

It remains to be seen whether the players that Sevco and Hearts are bringing in will strengthen their respective teams . What I do know is that their need is not any greater than ours but their willingness to try to improve their squads is making us look like we don’t really care .

Our board care about two things, themselves and their money. They appear to beleive the money in celtic’s bank account is theirs not the clubs. What we are witnessing is gross incompetance, no way should we be 9 days into the transfer window without a forward in the door. Our board are like politicians they only care when your vote is needed then its back to the golf course and back slapping.

Invented the all inclusive holiday package 👍

  18. O’Neill confirmed the move is now unlikely – with Kyogo’s preference to stay and fight for his place at Birmingham.

O’Neill said: “I think that would be unlikely. Everything is premature.

“I think there’s a viewpoint that he wants to prove himself at Birmingham, which is no surprise.”

  19. Meanwhile . . .

Rangers are reported to be targeting Sunderland duo Romaine Mundle and Dan Neil – in addition to imminent deals for Tuur Rommens and Tochu Chukwuani.

Defensive midfielder Neil was the captain of their promotion-winning side last season while left-winger Mundle, a £2m signing from Standard Liege in 2024, scored five Championship goals last term.

  20. As I’ve been saying for years on here anyone who suddenly expects our leopard to change it’s spots regardless of the manager really is delusional.

Plus of course no one knows who is identifying any potential signing. Probably lawwell and Dermots boys.

  21. timmy7_noted- given what’s happened, 2 new players in by now, isn’t too much to expect IMO

Devil’s advocate. Are we really suggesting admission to Celtic Park now is conditional in not criticising the Board? Are we a police state now?

Nicholson is a complete and utter liability. Inert and mute, a total dud. What are paying him all this money for? The village idiot can perform the inert/ mute role for zip.

Unreal. Get a centre-forward signed (should’ve been 1 January – how long do they need).

Get the Green Brigade back in. There is more at stake here than the tender egos of the Aloysian rugger buggers.

Where is the urgency FFS. Rome is burning here Mikey.

  23. No surprise Nicholson & co doing zilch. The fabled football structure is a figment of the hosts imagination.

The giveaway was when Mark Lawwell was put in charge of recruitment— what does that say about the rest of the team. Nice guy I hear, completely out of his depth but blew £20M for which he got his jotters.

Tisdale was a significant upgrade on Mark Lawwell but he was also not capable. He has blown close to £20M as well. That’s quite an achievement from our stellar recruitment department. The appointees were placed in role and Nicholson approved with a nod and a wink. Nicholson also has Nancy on his slate to —- a reckoning is due for this gross incompetence.

Now MON wants reinforcements; the ivory cost project is valued at 400k yet we want to pay £2M for him. Have they completely lost their minds —- with their track record entirely plausible.

MON needs a striker now otherwise kiss the title goodbye. If we drop any points in the 2 games this week it’s over.

Nicholson has failed to deliver again and must be forced out along with McKay. Nicholson has sold our 2 strikers and we have been waiting a year for a fit proven striker. No wonder so many defeats in 2025.

As sevconians chanted keep the board at last game they should name a stand after Nicholson. One man’s failure to do his job has brought us here. Like Nancy the breaking point just moves to the next game.

Nicholson is the one who ramped up the attacks on Celtic fans and fan media — a crazy thing to do when swimming in his own failures. Did he think it would be a distraction from his incompetence else where.

With no striker it’s only a matter of time before we drop points. Then it’s time for a full boycott of Celtic Park until the Board are removed.

ps. Celtic Park is only united when the full support has access including the Green Brigade. MON proposed and olive branch, a truce for now so all could get behind the team; Collective reached out as did other. Our invisible mute CEO is in hiding. No response.

It’s disgusting we have a coward as CEO of Celtic
