EX-CELT AGREES MOVE

FORMER Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has agreed a one-year deal with Livingston, as CQN forecast a couple of days ago.

The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international frontman has been a free agent since being released by Iranian outfit Persepolis during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Stokes claimed 58 league goals, won four league titles, two Scottish Cups and the League Cup in his six years at Parkhead and netted a double while on loan at Hibs in their 3-2 Scottish Cup Final victory over Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side in May 2016.

During his stints at the Hoops, three spells at the Easter Road side and Falkirk, on loan from Arsenal, he scored 136 goals and Livi boss Gary Holt is hoping he can rediscover his striking touch at the West Lothian club as a replacement for Lyndon Dykes who joined Queens Park Rangers for £2million during the week, as Sky Sports news reported..

Stokes has also turned out for Sheffield United, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Blackburn Rovers, while he has also played in Greece and Turkey.
