FORMER Celtic midfielder Barry Robson has made a quickfire return to the dug-out after being sacked by Raith Rovers in November.
The 47-year-old gaffer, dismissed by Aberdeen in January 2024, has agreed to a two-year deal to become new manager of Cork City.
Robson, who lasted only 11 months at the Kirkcaldy club, is eager to make an impression at the Irish club who were relegated from the top flight last season.
The 17 times-capped Scotland international told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted to become manager of Cork City FC.

“From speaking to the club, it’s clear that this is a great opportunity.
“We all want Cork City to achieve its full potential and our first target is a successful league campaign, which is our clear aim for the season ahead.
“There is a talented group of players already at the club, and I look forward to getting to work with them, starting straight away.”
Robson was the priority choice of the club’s recruitment advisor Simon Grayson, the former Leeds and Sunderland team chief.
He added: “We are very pleased to welcome Barry to the club.
“In my conversations with him, I was very impressed. Barry has a clear sense of how he wants his teams to play and what he will demand from everyone around him.”
Robson made a favourable first impression in his Celtic debut after joining the club in a £1.25million deal from Dundee United in January 2008.
The new Bhoy came on as a substitute against Aberdeen at Pittodrie and scored with his FIRST kick of the ball as he sent a low free-kick hurtling past keeper Jamie Langfield in the Hoops’ 5-1 triumph.
Another memorable goal came against Barcelona at Parkhead in February, but unfortunately Gordon Strchan’s team lost 3-2 to the Spanish giants.
Robson reunited with Strachan at Middlesbrough in January 2010 following his £1million departure from Parkhead.
