Ex-ref taunts Neil Lennon with ‘explodes’ remark

1244

I think I live in a different world than some people.  In my world the manager of Celtic has endured an incredibly stressful month.  Yesterday he would have dealt with news from a serious criminal trial after a bomb was sent to him.

Today he is being taunted in a newspaper by a former referee who suggests he “explodes at the side of a park”.  Even for a former SFA official, this is astonishingly poor taste.  The article goes on to betray enormous hostility towards Neil Lennon and, for reasons which appear opportunistic, Peter Lawwell.

Our manager will get through these difficult weeks and will hopefully never have to endure such stresses again.  SFA officials, current or past, cannot meaningfully lay a glove on him.  He can pay their fines and will continue to manage a winning Celtic team.

  1. There is, as always, a ready-made get-out for the Huns missing accounts:

“31 March 2012 – the last date for making an application for a waiver, relaxation or period of grace in relation to all or any part of the Membership Criteria for Season 2012/2013.”

Raceday has changed to a simple pay at the gate entry fee £17 or so, and we hope to encourage a few more along. If you are able to get to Scotland for that meeting (June 7th) let me know. You would be the VIP in our party! I will pick you up at airport if required and sort you some accommodation out. Drop me a mail bud.

    Raymac…quite right;

I have quite a few hun mates, I haven’t seen or spoken to any in quite some time now but when I did catch them for a few beers they would tell me that stupid huns pretending to be Tims on Tim sites made them cringe. They did amit to reading our sites and when I asked why they simply replied that they got an honest feel for how their biggest rivals were doing without a commercial mugging. I can understand that.

That plonker has been around for quite some time now, no matter what he does he just can’t get a girlfriend, never could, but then what girl worth the name would put up with a no-mark like him; if I was him – I’d go for am urgent sex or species change.

I assume you refer to Orange Walks? Or do you have others in mind? If so, name the ones you refer to. and don’t come back with “all sectarian marches”. Be specific

  7. The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society; and we as a people are inherently opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings.

A secret society’s preparations are concealed, not published. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revvealed.

Without debate, without criticism, no country can succeed. This is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy.

    J. F. Kennedy.

We know what happened to him.

Agree with seventyxseven that we need to organize and mobilize. Analyzing jokes is a bit hardcore right enough.

Look at Al Ahly for inspiration and what can be acheived.

It’s shocking but no surprise that the huns have tried something untoward. Not sure of the exact story so wouldn’t like to comment on the motives of the St Mirren director. For all we know he might not have known who he was dealing with.

My reading of SFA ruled re club licensing is that ratified accounts up to 31 March are an entry level requirement. The last date of receipt might be into April but as Rangers have no ratified accounts to present we can assume the deadline will be missed.

But wether the SFA apply the rules on withdrawal of licence or not, the Dundee Utd case demonstrates why accounts are required and that is to stop other clubs getting stiffed.

So the idea that Rangers can just reappear anywhere has to seen in the light of theit ability to pay their way.

This is the reality the rules are supposed to support, but whether the rules are applied or not reality will still have to be faced.

The only answer is a Rangers who can pay their way or no Rangers (new or old).

Reality can take its time but bite it will

  16. I draw your attention to article 10 (Official Return) where it states that a person would not be fit and proper if involved as a director at a club that “suffers” an insolvency event within the last 5 years.

If the huns go to the wall does that mean Paul Murray’s bid is dead in the water? (Not that it probably isn’t anyway – thumbs up!)

Any update on pre season arrangements bhoys?

Liverpool & Chelsea fixtures in the US and possible friendly with Norwich, any word of a reappearance at the Dublin supercup. Looks like it’ll be going ahead, whether we’re in it is another matter. God knows last years would have been a farce but for our involvement!

‘The Football Association of Ireland today (February 1) confirmed that it has reached a mutually agreeable settlement with Endemol Sport in relation to the Dublin Super Cup, under which Endemol has ended its involvement in the competition.

The FAI’s original agreement with Endemol Sport Iconic was announced last year and the Dublin Super Cup was played in Aviva Stadium on July 30 -31.

Further to its settlement with Endemol Sport, the FAI has reached a new and similar agreement with one of the principals involved in last year’s competition, Iconic Worldwide Events, to host a similar tournament in Dublin. Iconic Worldwide Events is run by Damien O’Brien, and is the company that created the successful televised show, Football’s Next Star.

The Iconic run tournament will continue to host top named British and European clubs and details will be announced by Iconic and the Football Association of Ireland in the coming period.’

    Ciao —-

Lovely warm day -way down south —– Springtime –

    Things you do .

I was in Kiev last autumn . Whilst there I saw a team called FC Metalist Kharkiv on the tele. I was surprised that more than half their team were South American . They looked like a real good team.

I returned to Sicily and had to go to the Bookies . Whilst there I saw that Metalist were in the Europa League and were priced at 80 -1 to win it. I placed a 20 euro bet at 80 -1.

To date —–they have made the quarter finals . They lost 2-1 away to Sporting Lisbon last night -the team featured 8 South Americans. They look a right good team .They are the tournament’s top scorers. A 1-0 in the home leg will see them in the semis —-

    Fingers crossed-way down south

Never rush that which you savour the most, while you are waiting, have a laugh, have a glass of wine or two, stuff it have a bottle; our day will come soon and we will smother our detractors with laughter, lots and lots of laughter, when that day dawns.

  22. Hello Everyone

Long long time lurker and now a first time poster..

I have been watching Neil lennon being booted from pillar to post for years now and feel it is now time for some action/statements from the Celtic Board.

The support Neil receives from the Celtic support is amazing and whilst i’m sure Lenny gets all the words of encouragement he needs behind closed doors from Peter Lawell and DD i’m sure a public statement from them would go a long way to letting the SFA, Gutter press and amateur shock jocks know exactly that Neil is not here to be abused and villified so that the above are allowed to pander to the brain dead majority of our footballing enemy!!
