Excuses to fail

139

Events in the final international break of the season went in our favour.  Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor and Josip Juranovic were all rested.  Reo Hatate played his first 45 minutes football in a stress-free match against Vietnam, while Matt O’Riley had 20 minutes action for Denmark U21s.  Celtic players will return from international duty injury-free and sufficiently rested ahead of Sunday.

By comparison, Newco’s three Nigerian internationals were involved in an exhausting home draw with Ghana which was not enough to see them eliminated from the World Cup.  You and I know that these things can be overcome, but we also know Newco like an excuse to fail.  Now they have one readymade.

Whether they play Alfredo Morelos, who is carrying an injury, or leave him out, the Columbian’s condition gives them an additional excuse to fail.  This comes a week after they accused a group of fans of undermining their domestic and European challenges.  Give a team an excuse to fail and they will take it.  Maybe Newco know what to expect on Sunday.

Prepare for some stick and accusations for daring to use the word `fail` !!

    —–

Yes indeed!! – I am impervious to “stick” now…..”that which does not………etc:

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I wouldn’t give JHB stick for anything he says because it is probably tongue in cheek, or is it? He keeps on making tongue in cheek remarks about being a Unionist – cheeky bhoy – had me believing him for ages.

  2. SCULLYBHOY

What exactly is a `Unionist` ? It feels like it describes someone who believes in a `Union` but as there are so many different `Unions`, I am sure that description must be wrong.

It is someone who believes in the Union with Northern Ireland.

And do not trust or believe anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.

Thanks for the reply, I just don’t see dragging up past mistakes re players is relevant now especially with such a big game coming up.

  5. Never ever confident of getting a result at The Hate Factory – scoddland has too much invested in a victorious hundom.

The boul’ wullie? Well, hardly inspires confidence does he?

    A Dallas-era “beard”.

I’d be very happy to never, ever play these klowns ever again.

Football without the huns is better.

As an aside, been here since 2008 and had my first car accident today, 100% my fault, ran into the back of someone, only a few paint scratches on the jeep, yer mans motor had both doors caved in and a broken bumper, TTL that all my insurance etc were up to date, in saying all that yer man was a proper gentlemen about it.

    ——-

Until the rise of the SNPcult, facilitated by a Devolution settlement enacted by the Labour Government to give the people of Scotland the most powerful devolved administration in the world, I had never been called a ‘Unionist’ in my life.

(The Labour Party’s list of battles won and parliamentary bills passed to help the working-class would need two A4 pages, back and front to list – the SNPcult couldn’t fill the back of a second-class stamp.)

The reason for this term’s ubiquitous use by the SNPcult and its members, was to introduce Northern Ireland vernacular into Scottish politics. Why, I hear you asking? Well they needed a large chunk of the Labour vote to implement their discredited policy of separation. Many of the West of Scotland Labour voters were, Catholic, of Irish decent, and Celtic fans. So what better way to con them for their vote, than to pitch Nationalist(in the Ulster sense) against Unionist(in the Ulster sense), stir up political conflict, rancour and hatred between families, friends & colleagues, the like of which has never existed, even in the Thatcher years.

So the reasoning developed in the heads of these ‘fired-up’ ex Labour voters – “if the huns vote for the UK and wave the Union Jack, we’ll support the SNPcult & independence, even if it leaves the ‘ar** hanging out of our trousers’……but if the “huns” ever changed to vote for independence because they know that as the majority they would have the ‘whip-hand’, then we would not vote SNPcult “at the drop of a hat” That’s how deep the political understanding of the SNPcult goes with some.

So I’m not a Unionist in any of the above terms – I believe(know) that we are better off as part of the UK. If the 2008 global crash didn’t convince – if the lies and oil exaggerations of the ‘thick’ White Paper didn’t convince – then surely Covid must have. The UK through the Barnett formula pumped almost a quarter of Scotland’s total GDP in to support thousands of businesses and save c1m jobs in Scotland.

There is no coherent economic case for independence – if there was, the SNPcult would be shouting it from the rooftops, plastering every billboard it could find and buying advertising space like it was ‘going out of style’.

The “con” is running out of steam – there will be no independence – the “two ferries” rivals the Two Ronnies’ “four candles” as a classic sketch – only the SNPcult version shows not comedy genius, but corruption, incompetence and cover-up…..as Sturgeon lays the blame on the disgraced Mackay…who of course has left the stage.

I’m not “dragging” anything up – merely contributing to the forum on a matter with distinct Celtic connections. I doubt anything said on CQN, or any other forum, could have a scintilla of bearing on the match on Saturday.

TET…my pal who lives in Salobrena spent a week clearing it from his roof terrace, only for it to return with a vengeance. I believe some of it travelled all the way across the Irish Sea and descended on the Emerald Isle…

And do not trust or believe anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.

    ——-

Thank you for the clarification. I think we are more or less united on here re the situation in the North of Ireland. Ultimately it will be down to what the Irish people as a whole vote for.

Subsequently, it would be good if we could keep the low hanging fruit Unionist jibe out of Scottish independence politics.

Yoons Euro yoons terminology is so yesterday and plain incorrect.

    We can always dream.

Talking dreams, our record at Grayskull is not good. It was not too good at the Tony Macaroni arena either.

However Ange has put his stamp on the team and previous fears, physiological or physical have gone.

Our new found confidence without complacency will ensure we get the 3 points on Sunday.

I would go so far to think that Ange will relish this game.

No fear, no regrets and 3 point beckons.

    HH and COYBIG.

  13. Evening all.

    Just a thought.

Starting to get the butterflies over Sunday’s game. If someone had told me at the end of last season and at the beginning of this season, that the position that we are currently in, and potentially , if we get a positive result on Sunday, we could well be favourites to be champions (again) I would have thought them mad, wow, it’s very possible we can.

My concern is, I’m a FEARTY, I always have felt the worst, (I Know) but it’s true. I have seen various comments that say, paraphrasing, ‘we win this and we’re home and hosed’

I so hope this will come to pass. My concern is that, if we get the result we dream and hope for, we do not lose focus. Other teams how are not friends of ours, aided and abetted by the MIB will do their damndest to make life as difficult as possible.

We have few friends here. In my opinion, Mr Stein and Mr Postecoglou share a football philosophy, take the MIB out of the equation, stick the ball in the ‘onion bag’.

Many of the West of Scotland Labour voters were, Catholic, of Irish decent (sic), and Celtic fans. So what better way to con them for their vote.

God, they are so stupid and easily blinded by their sectarianism.

    Please guide them CSC

BTW are you a Unionist or is that tongue in cheek?

  16. HOT SMOKED on 30TH MARCH 2022 7:33 PM

Ps I know the plural of `half` is `halves` but I think the plural of `half ` when referring to whisky in Glasgow is ` halfs`. Am I correct?

    ——————

On the basis that the measure of whiskey is a “hauf” then the plural can only be “haufs “ you are therefore correct that “halves” should only be used be referring to a games of two halves.

  17. It will take an extraordinary performance for Celtic to get Anything frae the Hate Factory given their need.

This is the real Genesis of Ange’s team I reckon on Sunday.

  18. Ultimately, it will be down to what the Irish people as a whole vote for.

Yeh yeh we want to cede from the union due to the cheating vermin(hun)..so simplistic eh.

The only thing rfc symbolise in Scotland is how you conduct yourself in business and as a symbol of your union, and your union shat it out. Its a historical redaction akin to saying no jew was hurt In ww2.

But that’s the union.historical amnesia and putting shite back in the arse since.

Your most definitely a unionist.your britnat racism and failure to decry scum attacking attacking rescue services when all it needed was a yes,you go into autocorrect mode and gave us a most unerudite and pash paragraph

2008 where the austerity tory govt indebted future generation bailing out banks,it is also one of the great regressive socialist steps back.capitalism won.

It is and was a historical failure of socialism

Was cute how the poor paid for that,I have never once read of you discredit any austerity(poor transferring wealth to rich) under your fellow pishedbed brexiteers

That’s mighty strange going by your opening you would think you would be heralding a left stance.

Never once criticised Boris, ach maybe wee george the racist will get a knighthood now, certainly following s expected scum behaviour.

Ah so your worried about future austerity

    What,like it was post 2008.

    You brought it up

Oh Dear there’s the ferries getting brought up.

Your looking a Michelle mones tits again Tommy

A tit for a ship eh.

You bring up covid as if it was funded properly(banking)

If 2008 covered capitalist debtand the rich were protected,covid19 funded that eton/entitled generation for years to come Tommy, the corruption is feral in Westminster…but sssssh silence

It came a long way from the heady days you used to come on typing like Bobby crush and Scottish deaths and Scottish old folk dieing, alas you don’t and never have showed any comparable deaths for England Wales and Northern Ireland.rancid britnat racism givin it full pelt while ignoring the other 2 countries and the bustard statelet.

    not one bit of compassion!

simple racism is available to unionists like you to weaponize to defend your corner if anyone dares to democratically cede from corruption central

Each joke you crack of Scotland,is smiled at and nodded, with one word,do you know the word?

Let’s see he leads a party you have never criticised

    That’s right

Boris! …..shall we call it regressive silence,……no word of his predecessor

You are and could only ever be a unionist.

Now Tommy/jhb play us one of your zoomer wind ups? That are out there on you tube. Comedy fun.but I guess maybe you won’t as….. as they in a lot of cases would show you to be out there🤪.and we know you are Tommy.keep well

Parties, apparently getting advise on what intern to pump from your hero.

By all means bring up mackays freakery, but the very fact you offer no insight into the westminster freaked shows yup full on unionist.

So I look forward to utter pish and racism spewed here
