Exhilaration lands on hard plastic Rugby Park

333

All of that exhilarating football from Tuesday lands on the hard plastic surface of Rugby Park on Sunday, as Celtic return to the ground which last year cost Brendan Rodgers his 100% trophy record in Scotland, then resulted in an even worse performance and defeat in the league.

This will be Kilmarnock’s first home game since their hilarious win over Newco.  Their three games on the road since then resulted in a win at Tynecastle, and defeats to Ross County and Dundee.

They have not lost at home since August, when St Johnstone thumped them 0-3 as Derek McInnes rested several players before their Conference League trip to Norway.  That record will be tested by the flowing fabulousness of the champions.

For Brendan, this will be a rare occasion when he has a full squad to choose from and no game to worry about for two weeks.  He may choose to leave Cameron Carter-Vickers’ knees on the bench, but otherwise, I expect a full strength team to start, and get the game won early on.

Any chance of a heads-up on next week’s Euromillions number oh wise one?

Well done Matty Bhoy! Delighted for him.

  2. Re the Amsterdam football enmity earlier this week – it’s a very weird phenomenon…

Most media outlets framed it as targeted antisemitic attacks on Maccabi fans just there to support their team.

The stuff about many Macabbi fans’ altercations, provocations and disgusting chants “…pro IDF, fvcl< all Arabs, schools are shut cos we killed the kids etc" are given a light touch or buried mid/late in the reports. Certainly entirely glossed over at a headline level.

It's hard for any of us to know what's real anymore, given the fractured nature of legacy and social media.

Surely it seems elements from both sides were 'at it': but one copped some pretty sore consequences (physical and verbal) for the vile taunts of their actives. But that full story is not reported; certainly not at a headline level.

To me, selective reporting is a subtle but sinister form of misinformation. And I'm left wondering why it's permitted or who controls, directs or sanctions it.

When you have so many Internet blogs,Twitter, etc, giving out the information that suits them,it has become impossible to really get to the truth about anything.

The false lies about the kids murdered in England a couple of months ago, bears it out.Spreads like wildfire, and becomes the truth.

Musk churned out endless lies on his Twitter during the USA elections.Millions believed them.Millions still believe the ” Cats and Dogs” nonsense.

  6. Before we recount Williams’ story of the time, 50 years ago, that Celtic beat Leeds United in the second leg of the European Cup semi-final at Hampden – “they say the crowd was 136,505, but it wasnae, it was 200,000” – we have to go back to Donald Burke, long gone now but a mentor to Williams from boyhood.

The attendance of 147,365 for the 1937 Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden Park is a European record for a club match.

Great call on the bet with Matt scoring for Brighton.

Good to see someone getting a bet up before the actual game and not after it !

    Well…I’m £250 better off…Corona time methinks…

    ……….

    Well done with your Bet.

I watched the Brighton v Man City game and apart from his well taken goal MATT O’RILEY played rather well when he came on.

BEFORE his winning goal MATT had another opportunity to score from 5/6 yards out but his Team Mate DANNY WELLBECK made a mess of the chance, with poor control, with Matt right behind him ready to score.

I guess that Matt won’t be too bothered about Wellbeck messing it up, now that he has scored the Winner ?

Celtic should have asked for £40 Million for Matt….not £25 Million…

    LOL.

    …………….

Celtic – 3 v RB Leipzig – 1……….I had Two separate Bets on the Correct Score at odds of 22/1 and 20/1.

I am also waiting on a Big Price DOUBLE with the Celtic v Leipzig game being the 1st part of the Bet…….and a CORRECT SCORE with the Kilmarnock v Celtic game Today, to make it a POSSIBLE Big Odds Double ?

IF I havent predicted the Correct Score for Killie v Celtic game Today….thats okay…just as long as Celtic WIN ?

Who is it on here that claims winning bets AFTER the games…..Name names…

Aberdeen are doing well but let’s see where they are at end of January. It’s good they are up there but I fancy that we will turn them over early December.

But enough of that, let’s concentrate on today, one game at a time.

Off to watch the grandson at 12 then rush back for footy.

3 – 0 the Tic but any win will do.

A bit surprised that Aberdeen bounced back so well after their ‘Dortmund’ last week, keeps massive pressure on the huns and suggests they are presenting a real challenge for 2nd spot.

Every game is big for us even the wee ones, play as we can …great…..though, any type of win will do.

  21. Huns spewing today to see Aberdeen 12 points ahead. It will be eating at them, the ,the peepul.Does put pressure on.Especially if we win today.Maybe, just maybe, another couple of points lost today.

The fact that ours was a Home game helps, as does Hearts`, but then again, both us and the Jambos are away today. Hmm…

Watched the game in my local. Dozen or so Citeh fans there and they weren’t best pleased when I shrieked when MoR hit the net. Lovely.

  28. January should and could see a few players brought in and one I’d add to our squad would be Simon Murray.
