Extending Kenny deal should be high on agenda

287

The largest part of our rebuilding exercise in the summer will be along the back line.  The departures of Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Elhamed leave a requirement for two right backs, while Diego Laxalt’s loan will not be renewed.

Christopher Jullien will miss the start of the campaign and with no signs of Kristoffer Ajer extending his deal beyond next year I expect him to leave in the summer.  Shane Duffy will return to Brighton, leaving Stephen Welsh as the only recognised central defender ready to start the campaign.

We need two right backs and one left back, the latter to compete with Greg Taylor, and at least two central defenders.  Recruiting all these players in time for the qualifiers is a huge undertaking.  We could do worse than to put extending the deal for Jonjoe Kenny high on the new manager’s agenda.

Yeah, not sure Petrescu’s the one we want if we want to build for the long-term. Decent coach but a bit too nomadic.

Ståle Solbakken certainly has something about him but has struggled badly outside of Scandinavia. His time at Wolves and FC Köln not going very well at all. Is he a contender?

    BSR-Nearly £300m is a lot of money.

What was the return from any sold.

Where any still involved winning the champions league and league

No idea mate, just plucked his spend from the internet, he cashed in big time on Suarez and Sterling. Despite our lucky recruitment he didn’t leave Liverpool on the best of terms and transfers in and out were contentious.

  6. Brentford’s manager’s barber has been in lockdown for 30 year I think.

    D :)

  7. Big Hazards penalty heroics prob earned him a new deal in whoevers eyes ..but he’s a flapper..his timing going for crosses is shit.

It`s a sad comment on impartial Scotland that I cannot be certain that SFTB is only joking !

  10. !!Bada Bing!! on

SFTB- not buying the faux rage from Slippy G, a sham,we all know the deal with Beaton and the huns

BSR-they cashed in on coutiniho (spelling) as well I think.

£300m is a lot but over his time that is probably average for the big teams.

Chelsea spent over a hundred million pre season with lampard in charge.

    Unbelievable.

My point is that Liverpool won the big cup and their holy grail the league.

Man City, man u and Chelsea probably have spent more without the same return

  12. Still 0 – 0 in Livi/Sevco game. Stays like that, they could win the Title at Celtic Park.

Was having a look at what the EPL were offering this evening and saw the Huns game pop up, so looked at the stats, one shot on target by both of them, must be a cracker😵

Liverpool won the Champions League and EPL with a change of manager, major change of recruitment strategy and an overhaul of the playing squad after Rodgers left.

Their net spend under Klopp in the last four years has been £75m. Remarkable in the modern game.

“In the last four years, Liverpool have spent far less in net terms than rivals Manchester United (£436m net), Arsenal (£292m) and Chelsea (£113m), and the latter couldn’t buy anyone last year due to a transfer ban. Even cross-town perennial underachievers Everton have had a higher outlay in that time (£190m), as have most other Premier League clubs.”

  17. Like Bada not convinced with Seethin Gee’s rant but I hope he is pulled up by the broadcaster’s after trying to take the moral high ground a few weeks ago about supporting and working with refs – usual double standards from a hateful individual.

  18. The Huns have won the league in fact they won it a long time ago,No doubt helped with our hapless coaches,John Kennedy one of them, and if he is appointed as the manager in the summer, you can bet your bottom dollar many Celtic supporters will be thinking wether to renew or not,I’m pretty sure Kennedy will end up at Aberdeen or Motherwell, just my opinion.

  19. fairhill bhoy on

Geebee1978-the money brought in from players sold brought in the players that integrated and complemented the players already there. I think if Liverpool haven’t spent as much then it’s probably because they either had a good core of players there or they have sold on players for profit

  20. fairhill bhoy on

GEEBEE1978-just to be clear,I won’t a total clear out for us.

    I also don’t do google.

Although with my memory I probably should
