Failure elsewhere cannot disguise abject Celtic challenge

1009

As the darkest clouds descend over Ibrox with news that medals in their trophy room have been poinded by sheriff officers, sentiment in our half of the city is no brighter.  Celtic’s best chance to win the league this season lies not in outpointing everyone else, or seeing their principle rivals lose 10 points, it is in the complete obliteration of Rangers, allowing us to take our chances with Motherwell, who can open up a six point gap between second and third against Celtic on Sunday.

Whatever the following weeks bring for Rangers, if Celtic winning the league is a consequence, we cannot allow the title to disguise the abject failure to be competitive so far this season.

I don’t read any detailed information regarding the huns demise. It is far to complicated for me – i find it boring to be honest, although that is probably due to my own ignorance,or lack of knowledge of such matters.

But i will say this – they deserve everything that is coming to them – they are cheats, and they have been aided and abeted by cheats.

We didn’t lose that league title at Inverness,we lost it all season long, because we were cheated all season.

Even now, they are at death’s door and they are still at it,still cheating and getting every decision under the sun.

If you don’t believe me,ask the Aberdeen fans what they witnessed on Saturday.

Some of the detail is a bit too graphic and salacious for a family website, so I’d rather not copy and paste.

But I take your point about not giving them the hits.

I know how we all feel about the Daily Record, but fair play, that’s a cracker of a story they’re leading with online.

I like the idea of Roy Aitken.

However who’s to say Roy and Neil would get on, manage to work with one another etc.

If anyone does come in it has to be Neil’s choice to bring them in and decide who they would be.

If your going to enforce someone on Neil it’d be better just to terminate Neil’s contract and employ a new management team as enforcement would be seen by everyone inside and outside of football as a no confidence vote.

MWD Neil gets my 100% backing as long as he is manager of my club.

Ronnie Drews would be the nearest pub to the Hilton mate.It is all Short Strand and Markets crew. You will be as safe as houses there.

The bar in the Hilton is class though,a wee bit expensive, but if they show the game,i would watch it there.Might not show Celtic or Rangers games though.

The DR story is about a Scots millionaire enrepreneur and his wife having a menage a trois with an unnamed black man in the lavvy of an exclusive Orlando nightclub where the champagne costs £300 a bottle.

Agree playing surfaces are a factor for that type of game, in this country after winter sets in.

Failing in Europe with a Bosman built back four is not just predictable, it’s inevitable. (Sion)

Celtic’s fluctuating SPL fortunes with the present personnel won’t change, it’s needs a change in thought process.

It’s not up to me to source personnel.

But I know a losing bet when I see one.

  10. I read the front cover of the DR when I was in the shop this morning. It’s about one of Scotland’s richest men who has had honours from the Queen being caught in a US nightclub toilet in a compromising situation with his wife who also had cocaine on her. Says he also assaulted a police offcer. Unfortunately I cannot remember the guys name.

It has probably has been misconstrued that i was referring to him as you describe that was not my intention at all

However if I did have any children of tender years that frequented the blog I would not hesitate in instructing them to ignore this mans abusive posts which he and others seem to to gain their thrills from

As someone else has posted most of the posts, rumours or otherwise, that I have posted on here have been discussed at Celtic Park Celtic supporters buses and Celtic pubs all over the city with the exclusion of Babbity Bowsers of course

  12. MWD – that’s a fair point, they may not get on. I see a real need for change, to freshen things up, but don;t think we could realistically do better than Lennon at the moment, so bringing someone in might be a suitable compromise.

I just wish MO’N had walked out on Villa earlier – Lennon might well have gone for Walford and Robertson as his assistants then – maybe he should pick up the phone?

  14. Apparently Fergie left Aberdeen 25 years ago today.

Someone once told me that on at least one occasion in European games he had Jock Stein in the dressing room at half time to speak to the players.

Has anyone else ever heard that?

  17. It’s just awful that Naisy is out for the season. The SPL needs its best players on show and on the park. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I, for one, will miss those goal-celebrations that are obviously aimed at some ned pal of his who is in Saughton.

I will also miss the vicious tackles combined with the diving that brought such colour to our game.

  19. Philvis,

I wasn’t actually talking about O’Neill returning – I get that it won’t happen, for myriad reasons! What I meant was Lennon could have brought in Walford and/or Robertosn as his assistants – worked with them before, knows them well, and I assume they aren’t as wealthy as O’Neill so may need the work, or at least want to work, especially to help out an old mate.

Felons for me though, can get a good crowd in for tic games, havent been in years….really miss european nights in there.

  22. If the rumoured petulance of a few players is true, might it be an idea for the support to give Lennon some vocal backing during the next few games and let them know that the fans are behind the manager – and if they know which side their bread is buttered, they should be too.

  23. amadeus- my memory of Naismith as a Rangers player is his theatricals in the Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox, dived in the box- no penalty booked, dived again in the box (i.e. deliberately kicked FF in the face) penalty given, FF red carded; dived on the half line no free kick, and finally another dive in the box, this time Murray HAD to give him a 2nd yellow.

    A masterclass.
