Gravity has caught up with Falkirk, and Motherwell in recent weeks. Motherwell have lost four of their last five games, taking a solitary point at home to Hibs. Falkirk’s only win in their last five was at Motherwell, a result sandwiched between home defeats to St Mirren and Newco, before Saturday’s Hampden loss to Dunfermline.
Despite this, John McGlynn and Jens Berthel Askou will surely have no other competition for the Manager of the Year award. McGlynn achieved a top six finish after securing two successive promotions for Falkirk. Motherwell finished second in the SPL as recently as 2014, but their fans are clear, Askou’s football is the best they have seen from their side. He is an outstanding talent.
If they recover their focus, they are both capable of taking points off anyone in the league. They will almost certainly have a say in who eventually finishes top. We will be tested against both.

Happy Wednesday eve!
Keep your eyes peeled for a roving, rambling BRRB sighting.
Our present team rarely pass tests, IMHO.
Certainly, if it’s a forward test.
Manager of the year?
How bout Martin – he salvaged an absolute dogs dinner to keep us in contention for two silver jugs?
Condolences to Voguepunter
My tuppenceworth for the managerial cud-chew
Kevin Muscat is Ange2.0
Graham Arnold x4 time ALeague manager just taken Iraq to World Cup finals.
Must be on the interview lists Shirley?
Echoing condolence to VP
It would be a brave Celtic fan to take any game right now as a given.
Falkirk at home is the best possible start to the split and if we’re travelling to Fir Park still in with a reasonable chance then I’ll take that right now.
I’m not sure Askou is an outstanding talent. I’m not sure the man currently making a dog’s dinner of Ferencváros‘ quest for 8 in a row is an outstanding manager either…
An Dun – If Keane gets the job then It tells us nothing has got through to DD. Hopefully just paper talk though the bookies have him as favourite.
The sane with Bellamy Who has done absolutely nothing to merit it.
Hoping when we have a board in place they are more ambitious than opting for a lazy, unimaginative appt.
Of course Motherwell and Falkirk are dangerous opponents , they are the rocks our season could founder on never mind the minis and maxis .
All it takes is another Tannadice type performance from us .
The consolation is that we are in a slightly healthier state now .
graham arnold youve got to be joking
Condolences, VP.
I would have Tonda Eckert in the frame. Young manager who took over struggling championship side Southampton in November and has instilled a style of play which has seen them play attractive football whilst gobbling up the points. They have steamed up the league and could well finish second with automatic promotion. Oh and on the way they deservedly dumped Arsenal from the fa cup
No other competition for manager of the year? I can’t stand his greetin’ face but surely McInnes?
Hearts top most of season and still there going into the final split, with a fraction of the budget of the two other competitors. No fan of the guy, but it’s some achievement.
VP – sorry to hear about your brother 🙏 🙏.
“He is an outstanding talent.”
Spring time is for sowing seeds.

Askou’s football is the best they have seen from their side. He is an outstanding talent.
Flying a kite, testing the waters? Or just giving an opinion as a fan, we shall know soon enough. Or knowing how we normally do things, a week before our first European qualifier!
Graham Arnold, tansbell, has a quiet and solid repute for nurturing young talent, pragmatic style and winning silver.
Sure he’s no Ronny Delia or Wilf Nancy but his cv is worth a look.
Ps; are you a hun ?
Just as long as it is not the clown from Newcastle once he’s sacked, please no
kingLUBO
We should show our intent, get Jurgen Klopp, now that would be something
kingLUBO
A string of top managerial talent just waiting for the opportunity to go to a club with no ambition beyond its own city…….
q no not a hun i know all about graham arnold spent 50 years in oz hes a dumplin
On the Manager debate
I saw some click bait the other day suggesting Thomas Frank. Brilliant at Brentford pushing water uphill at a chaos Tottenham
Regardless the reality it is exactly the level we should be looking at
Also consider Howe who is under. Appreciated at Newcastle
When that level (and there are a few more) have been removed from the list (for whatever reason) we pursue the next level
The guy at Bodo G the guy at Southampton and probably one or two more
When that level has decided DD is not for them then we go to the next level Only after that do we look closer to home
At least show some ambition before before gambling on the Motherwell manager (who is brilliant for Motherwell)
On another note. I was ready to accept that St Mirren would put us out of our misery in extra Time But as bad as this team is or is not ready to roll over.
We couldn’t could we !!!!!
Yes we can

arnold isnt even on a par with steve clarke
For any Politcos out there, going to be an emergency dabate in the Commons following Starmers obfuscation fest yesterday and Ollie Robbins’ giving evidence before the Foreign Affairs Committee this morning. Main takeaway from that Is Robbins opinion that No.10 didnt give a dam about the vetting process and wanted Mandy in situ before the Donald was inaugurated. Notable also was the presence, sitting just behind Robbins was one Dave Penman, the Scottish General Secretary of the FDA. His presence no doubt limited some of the answers given by Robbins during the Q&A session. Not heard the last of Robbins sacking by Starmer.
Speaking of vetting procedures, we need to discover who carried out said procedure before the hiring of Brother Wilfred Nancy by Celtic FC. Was an agent provocateur involved? I think we should be told.
Graham Arnold has been handed a huge honour after a stellar 2022 World Cup, with the Socceroos boss named the top coach of the tournament by French sports newspaper L’Equipe.
Arnold was at the top of the list, which averaged out the rating of each coach’s performance through each game their team played, narrowly ahead of Japanese manager Hajime Moriyasu in second, and the pair of Walid Regragui and Lionel Scaloni in third.
But you’re prob right, he’s no Steve Clarke; a fact I can see all the way from my Australian hoose.
steve clarkes no great shakes either go get oliver glasner
Celtic Man
I recognised Penman all right but who was the fellow on his left? Face very familiar couldn’t make out his badge on his coat. Wrong colour for a FDA badge!

*nae kiddin but don’t be surprised if its Shaun Maloney
Don’t think we would be pushing it trying for Frank.Ask the question. On a downer after Sure, who is’nt?.His Brentford team, still the most attractive team to watch.
This is the guy that signed,Toney,Mbuemo,Wissa,Darmsgard,Eriksen. All for around £40 million
Igor, for £33 million.Could not offer any less than £70- 80 million now.Around 6 or more of his buys still playing for Brentford.
He has a definite eye. for a player. The money he brought to Brentford, amazing.
As I said,why not ask?
I have a soft spot for Brentford.Great entertainment.
Spurs.
BHOYS TOWN – Paul67 is obviously at the wind up. I’m with you, the greetin’ faced dislikable nyaff that is Derek McInnes, should be a shoe in. Quite simple, as with a week of voting left his Hertz side are still top going into the split.

Ticks all the boxes 👍
Turkeybhoy,
I have a notion that Thomas Frank might end up at either Crystal Palace or Newcastle next season…that’s if he decides he can still be @rsed with the Premier League given recent experience.
I always reckoned that his ‘plan’ was to go back home to Denmark and manage the national team – but that is just guesswork on my part.
What I would say is that he seemed to enjoy the low key life managing Brentford – often seen having a drink in Sheen accompanied by his dog. Not sure he would fancy the life of a Celtic manager in Glasgow – but you never know.
