Falkirk and Motherwell remain dangerous

116

Gravity has caught up with Falkirk, and Motherwell in recent weeks.  Motherwell have lost four of their last five games, taking a solitary point at home to Hibs.  Falkirk’s only win in their last five was at Motherwell, a result sandwiched between home defeats to St Mirren and Newco, before Saturday’s Hampden loss to Dunfermline.

Despite this, John McGlynn and Jens Berthel Askou will surely have no other competition for the Manager of the Year award.  McGlynn achieved a top six finish after securing two successive promotions for Falkirk.  Motherwell finished second in the SPL as recently as 2014, but their fans are clear, Askou’s football is the best they have seen from their side.  He is an outstanding talent.

If they recover their focus, they are both capable of taking points off anyone in the league.  They will almost certainly have a say in who eventually finishes top.  We will be tested against both.
