The board seem to think that this is some sort of championship manager scenario- you bring the player in and they immediately continue previous form- so it doesn’t really matter that they don’t come in until closer to the hertz match (as opposed to now or previously). No appreciation for the need for acclimatisation to the physical surroundings, to the squad, for them and their families. No need to get settled in accommodation, sort schools for kids etc. it’s worse than amateur

The Laptop Loyal ran with the hoax…
The widely circulated Giorgio Chiellini quote about José Cifuentes being “one of the best players he’s ever played with” was a hoax or a “wind up” on social media and not a genuine statement from the Italian defender.
Chiellini and Cifuentes were teammates at Los Angeles FC (LAFC) before Cifuentes moved to Rangers F.C. in August 2023. While Cifuentes was a notable player at LAFC, the specific, highly laudatory quote attributed to Chiellini appears to have originated as a joke or fabricated post online, rather than a verified public comment.

Couple of positives.
MO’N has won as many games as Nancy after 2 games back. He’s also managed two more clean sheets than the French dud brought in by our pathetic excuse of a CEO.
Second, Araujo is evidence of how some smart loan moves can bring results. No chance we win that game tonight with Tony ‘goal a game’ Ralston.

A quite startling post, but then again the nation of Israel is a contradiction, a contradiction that separates the Celtic board and the Green Brigade.
The nation state of Israel is Jewish, Arab, etc, but it complicates this by intertwining Jewish ethnicity and religion with national identity and law.
Another contradiction is when anyone challenges Israel they’re immediately labelled as antisemitic, but a Semite is someone who speaks a sematic language (Jews and Arabs), but the term antisemitism is now regarded as a prejudice, hatred, or discrimination against Jews alone.
Then to complicate matters there’s Zionist, with the latest figures revealing 65% of British Jews identifying as Zionists, but 56% believe in a 2 state solution to the current conflict / genocide.
It’s long past the time the Israeli state and Jewish religion became separate identities.

As a kid growing up in Glasgow, I thought that there were lots in common between Catholics and Jewish folk.
Indeed, I caddied for a founding member of Bonnyton Golf Club, who told me of his role in having to establish a club, as so many of the existing clubs wouldn’t have catholics or jews as members. Me not knowing about or caring if he was a zionist then, I encountered a decent man who treated me and other caddies very well.
I always thought both groups were perceived outsiders to the prod orthodoxy and felt Celtic was a good fit for all who chimed with our origins as an open-armed, community minded charitable organisation.
Now, I think the actions of the Zionist state is poisoning relationships, friendships and alliances and increasing the toxic divisions in societies the world over. But I still have and hope to keep several Jewish friends who are not Zionists nor even Celtic fans.
I just wish, saying it again, there wasn’t so much bitterness and recrimination and seeing the potential worst in those around us instead of glimmers of the better, more human qualities. Mibby I’m just too naive.

Tierneys face hit Falkirk player’s elbow said the commentator
As ever Michael Stewart decided to completely play down the incident with ‘there was no intent there’. How can he possibly know this? only the player himself knows if there was any intent to injure a fellow professional. While he is one of the best co- commentators of a bad lot, there bar is on the ground, he always has this nonsense talk during games. There was very little discussion on how a player ends up bleeding form the mouth and on the ground, one poor replay that was it.
Premier Sports must have shown at least 10 to 12 slow motion action replays of the tap Trusty did on the Hun goalkeeper during the League Cup semi-final. While there may well have been a coming together of 2 players, possibly one of his own, it would have been good to get a look to decide for ourselves not to rely solely on Michael ‘there’s no intent there’ Stewart.
One last point, near the end of the match Falkirk crossed the ball into our box and 2 Falkirk players went for it and clashed heads, both required treatment on the pitch, it looked like neither left the pitch, am I correct? If so is there a different rule now for treatment for head knocks means you don’t have to leave the playing field?
Watched the game in a pub last night with a guy who has family Celtic-leanings but isn’t really a Tim, and who’s football interest lies in north London.
As we watched and talked about the game he came up with a couple of questions: what has happened to Celtic since just under a year ago, and who is actually scouting for players to be brought in (this after I had told him about Martin’s reference to making so many ‘phone calls)?
I tried my best to answer the first question in a bit of detail, but the simple and honest answer to the second one was “Fecked if I know” (because I don’t).
