Fans Against Criminalisation (FAC) are closer than ever to achieving their goal of having the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act repealed. While the majority in the Scottish Parliament are on their side, the Scottish Government have gone deaf to the voice of the Scottish people in the hope they can successfully distract attention from the issue.
FAC would like you to join their campaign by emailing your MSP. The Celtic Trust have made the process easy with a link to ‘Find my MSP’ and an email template here.
Good luck to all who join the campaign.
NEW CQN PODCAST OUT NOW FEATURING TOMMY SHERIDAN
A Celtic State of Mind presents its 30th instalment of insightful discussion around the culture of Celtic Football Club, the city of Glasgow, and fans of the reigning treble-winning Scottish champions.
Kevin Graham is joined by Scotty Alcroft to interview Scottish pro-independence politician, Tommy Sheridan, at The Penalty Spot in Glasgow.
The interview took place as part of A Celtic State of Mind’s first live event – Five-a-sides at The Penalty Spot – and, as such, there is some background noise (including mobile interference – apologies) from the audience.
The other voice you may hear throughout this episode is that of former Celtic striker, Frank McGarvey, who is a friend of Tommy’s, and who was also interviewed separately that day for a future show.
You are sure to enjoy Tommy’s eclectic input, as he discusses everything from Catalan independence to Coolio, with a constant undercurrent of that thing called Celtic.
Order Jim Craig’s new Lisbon Lion Diary – Right Back to 67 from CQNBookstore.co.uk and you will receive a signed copy from the man himself plus a FREE copy of That Season in Paradise – Ten Months of Celtic Heaven signed by fellow Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld! Finally found a quiet corner away from all the post post-Christmas shenanigans that still consume my waking hours. Family, eh?
Much belated New Year’s felicitations to Paul and to all CQNers everywhere.
Can I add Noel90 and Big Joe to the missing contributers whose posts were always a breath of fresh air. (Back in the day).
Roll on the footie again to bring some sense of normality to the weekends.
Hail Hail.

All part of Sevco mythological football pariah club but SMSM have them as usual attracting big names busy in the transfer window.
They couldn’t even appoint a proper manager and Murty is unproven at youth level never mind being handed a new club in the SPL. The loans are transparent for anybody that cares to look. its the only way they can ‘sign’ players.
Celtic meanwhile are the only club in Scotland active in the transfer market spending money ( £1.5M ) Compper and Morgan, yet we observe SMSM create another notion that Celtic have been very quiet withholding our biscuit tin.
How bizarre how bizarre CSC

Stuart Armstrong set for spell on sidelines after hernia operation
Scotsman Published: 22:30 Monday 15 January 2018
Celtic star Stuart Armstrong is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing a shock hernia operation. Armstrong went under the knife in Germany yesterday to cure his long-running injury after spending their recent winter break with Brendan Rodgers’ champions in Dubai.
The 25-year-old, who signed a new two-year deal last August to tie him to the Hoops to 2019, has been troubled with the problem in recent weeks. The Parkhead club felt it was best he received surgery during the January lay-off as the Premiership leaders gear up for the second half of the season.

Hopefully good news to come for your sister.

Been swatting up on people who suffer TIA’s, for the past few years we have been pulling our hair out trying to suss out what has been wrong with Mrs TET, it seems that she has been suffering from these, and they are getting worse and longer, no much that can be done either, took her to the hosie the other day, she got better and they sent her home, 2018 and they still haven’t managed to cure the common cold, well they have but there is no money in it, they make billions selling crap that doesn’t work, cancer is another one, thay could cure 90% of it the morra if they wanted, again no money in it for them, it’s all about prolonging things for a year or so, ach am no the happiest bhoy on the planet just now.

Dena29,
I too am an optimist,
but i did think we would have had
a couple of more signings in by now
DENA29, cheers dena.hh.
Re Stuart Armstrong’s hernia op……I often wonder when I see players form dip, just what injuries they might be carrying. Stuart’s hernia, Griff’s calf, Moussa’s hammy. ‘ Loss of form’ can sometimes be just too simplistic.

I did think we would have had a few more in by now
but hoping by the end of transfer window the signings will be worth the wait

Hi Mike.
Was following your Antigua trip.
Hope you got some heat into the bones to keep you slightly warmed up for the winter.
Jeez these mornings are a head-wrecker. If I hadn’t to feed and clothe some folk, I would not be for leaving the duvet ’till my stomach was looking for lunch.

Wee update on fac
I’ve had replies from
Monica Lennon
Elaine Smith
Richard Leonard
Mark Griffin
Not a single reply from any snp or tory!!
Says it all for me. If only Labour had supported independence. Ah well, in saying that… I wanted independence only so we could rid Scotland of tories, get the queen tf and have a Republic with no monarch… Probably would never have happened anyway.
Can’t wait for the fitba to be back.

Glad to hear via Almore that DD is OK.
Echo everyone else – hopefully some of the posters who have left get back on the blog.
And hopefully civility can be maintained, lack of which seemed to be behind a number of people not posting.

I seem to recall it was pretty warm in the BAC. You just need to be in there more often!
Wonderful news Dena. Also good to hear DD is well though ‘flouncing’ :-)
Interesting to see how many extra bodies sevco are acquiring. Will they have enough second hand training tops and strips to go round? Maybe it’s a pay as you play scenario – every time you pay, you play. One thing for sure it will end in tears again.
