Fans expensive travel awaits fixtures

252

Having strained a hamstring against St Johnstone on Saturday, it is not credible to expect Giorgos Giakoumakis to play any part in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final. We have surely learned from recent experiences that strained hamstrings require proper rest, to prevent a more serious injury.

Kyogo’s return to action was a joy but too brief for him to be considered as starter anytime soon. He will be fit to torment defenders in small doses only for a while. That leaves us without our MVP in recent months and our MVP from the first half of the season in a hugely important cup tie.

There are reasons not to be too concerned. Celtic have scored nine from eight different players since the last goal they conceded, Matt O’Riley is the only one to have broken the sequence by contributing more than once. This team contribute goals from all over the park.  Maybe Hampden will see Greg Taylor get in on the act!

The post-split fixtures are likely to see us go to Ross County and Dundee United, with Newco, Hearts and Motherwell at home. Hopefully the game at County’s tiny Dingwall stadium is not material to the title race.  The SPFL have known the scenario for two days now, so let’s hope the fixtures come out this afternoon.  When you live in a Scottish bubble it is easy to forget many people have difficult and expensive travel arrangements to book just to see their team play football.  At the very least they deserve as much notice as possible.

    Why ?

Because we can and it is the right thing to do.

HS- Sky would have set KO times, they are set in stone…..unless there’s a death in the family….

  4. Coneybhoy,

The huns took a decision to ban us, but they didn’t reckon with Predator boots

We have more justification than Murray had to initiate a righteous and safety orientated ban.

And they don’t have Predator boots 😆😆😆

I got in early for the 1st , thanks to you😎”

Glad to be of assistance :-)) When you mentioned the 1st, I thought I had missed something and checked up.Saw it was against the Old Firm so no problem as I don`t go to those games.

    Bada

    Thanks for reinforcing Coneybhoy`s information.

Time for Brian Cox and Matters of the Universe :-))

  6. Interesting that the Beechwood isn’t showing the game on Sunday; Easter family meals rightly taking priority

The international will be mobbed; think I might visit the Brazen before the game and see if Tony Donnelly is in. He disliked committees and their members’ attention seeking almost as much as me😎🍀

  7. The League fixtures can wait. The Scottish Cup comes first. And, unlike the Green Brigade, I surely cannot be the only one who considers that playing them on Easter Sunday is an anathema, or should be. It is an anathema to me. And anyone who is deluded enough to believe that it will not be publicised, portrayed and built up as anything less than an ‘Old Firm’ match really needs a reality check. And as for said GB’s press release that “……we go to war under the flag of Ireland” well I have heard it all now. Nobody goes to war under the flag of Ireland, not even Ireland. Will do nothing but to confirm, condone, continue and I would argue condemn us to being part of that which we seek to deny. That being OldFIrmrUs.

AIPPLE-I don’t post as much on here anymore. I couldn’t help myself if I did.

It’s just a matter of time before we see recurring reds 🤦‍♂️

I still lurk and nearer the time we will organise something that suits you 🍀👌🏻

Big Jimmy-good to see you back 👍

Mind mate don’t take the bait. It’s only multiple red carded idiots that do that 🙋‍♂️😉

  9. Think I might have forecast that we would go unbeaten until the end of the season in the break.

    What an astute chappie.

If we win the Treble,on to a very large payout from the Bookies.Placed when we were trailing by 6 points.Hence my worry about no Gio,or Kyogo on Sunday.

    SAINT STIVS

When I lived in New York City an Irish work friend and I used to get the train up to Kearny for the odd Celtic game at the Irish Club. We had many a good time there and made lots of friends and if it was Saturday we were always invited to stay over for a party at someone’s house.

    Great memories.

  11. Celtic Mac,

Not with you there mate.Thousands of Tricolours on display on Easter Sunday, will be a sight to behold.

I don’t get the anathema bit.Is it the religious aspect you are not happy with, the game being on Easter Sunday?

I wish these GB people would stop using the Celtic name as a platform for their puerile rubbish.

This kind of repeated behaviour both angers & worries me – as I believe it does the overwhelming majority of the Celtic family.

It achieves nothing positive, encourages hatred and, is simply some individuals with inflated egos ‘running off at the mouth’.

The only thing the GB give to Celtic is noise in the stadium(when they’re not in boycott mode) – other than that they are a financial drain and a source of recurring embarrassment.

To use the language of conflict at this time, at the end of Holy Week, and to talk of going ‘to war’ on Easter Sunday in the middle of a real war here in Europe, where as we speak chemical weapons may be being used, is a totally unacceptable representation of what supporting Celtic FC should be all about. It is beyond the pale.

  14. And we’ll be staying at the Top of the League.

Celtic were incredible on Saturday and you just know there is so much more to come from this squad of players.

Wan of the best things about playing old firm FC last week was Anthony Ralston smashing right through that Kent dude. Anthony has been superb for Celtic this Season and been a big part in Celtic being where they are.

I reckon Josip is right up there with the best in World fitba in that position so Anthony doing his bit when asked is all anyone can ask. It was a booking but a worthwhile wan.

I can see Braga winning by 2 clear goals Thursday.

  15. Interesting from the GB. Maybe they are looking to re-locate to Ireland to get involved in the neutrality/NATO debate that we are not really having. Hope they have work visas what with them not being Irish and that

  16. I noticed Callum had a longer team huddle talk. It worked a treat. He was awesome like Every selected player.

Dad asks who the motm was, I honestly couldnae differentiate. The whole squad is playing so well.

  18. Good morning all from a wet, damp underfoot Garngad.

There will be nothing more beautiful than Easter Sunday, thousands of tri colours and the Hun skelping which will be happening on the park.

The only thing more beautiful is the sight of BRRB getting his wallet out and buying a round, but you dont see that very often. 😉😂😉

  20. ” We go to war under the flag of Ireland :

I wonder if Ireland has been consulted.????????

Given the ongoing war in Europe and the horrific consequences of that war, that statement is sooooooo misplaced.

    …………………..

My God what next….Posters on here insisting that Celtic FC tear down the Irish Tri Colour that Flies proudly over PARADISE ?

As for ” Going to WAR” with these sons of William…whats wrong with that expression/term ?

As far as I am concerned, I WANT the Celtic players to “BATTLE” for EVERY Ball whenever we play anyone…but especially against that Mankie Hun Mob.

EVERY Celtic player SHOULD be prepared to ” BATTLE” and get ” RIGHT STUCK IN” against that Mob from the 1st whistle to the last. That Hun Mob have done NOTHING to earn ANY respect from Glasgow Celtic at any time.

Whenever I stepped onto the pitch many years ago, I was of the ” MINSET” that I was going to war with ALL my opponents…and NOT just my direct opponent.

I wish ANGE and/or CALMAC would TELL Kyogo and the other Bhoys from Japan, to ” STAY WELL AWAY” from opposition players ( ESPECIALLY the Hun players), when one of them goes down ” Injured” or ” Kidding on that they are injured”. I saw Kyogo do it two or three times against St Johnstone on Sunday. I am just waiting for Kyogo and co…to ” PAT” one of those so called ” Injured Players” on the head…only for that opponent to suddenly FEIGN further Injury, and get our Japanese in bother with the Ref.

  22. The going to war under the flag of Ireland thing is a GIRUY to the SFA as much as anything.

Advocating going to war on Easter Sunday at the end of Holy Week in support of a Football Club whose primary founder was a Marist Brother and a Teacher, via a press release, may appeal to your sensibilities Jimmy but it does not appeal to mine. Feel free to fall in line.
