Fans will be at Hampden, you can bet their lives on it

406

Politics is very much at play in football these days.  With Boris Johnson indicating yesterday that he expects up to 10,000 fans inside football stadiums from 17 May, you can expect his Holyrood shadow to propose a similar plan, perhaps a week later/earlier, as has been her way for 11 months.

If the 17 May date feels arbitrary, it is not.  Euro 20201 fixtures get underway a month later, offering populist governments a way to compare how far along the recovery road their surviving citizens are.  Governments in London and Edinburgh will permit domestic fans to attend games just in time for their flag waving opportunities.

There will be fans at Wembley and Hampden, irrespective of what’s going on in public health, you can bet their lives on it.

How many buses do Ross County use, when they come to CP?

    —————–

Good question, the answer would be interesting.

    HH.

  2. GP- when they beat us at CP,and protests in the car park, they were held back from leaving, in the videos I seen ,I’m sure it was only 1 bus.

  3. lets all do the huddle on

we you have certainly roused up your Klan on here Paul

hopefully it is us waving our flags

  4. So the previous CQN leading articles decried the First Minister for not allowing sufficient fans back early enough. Now it’s too many too soon.

    Meanwhile our implosion accelerates inexorably.

‘Set the Deflector Shields tae malky…..’

  5. TimGreen…

Spot on sir. It’s doable. Drop the parochialism and the world is our oyster.

As i understand it, the reason so many buses are required is the amount of players who won’t/can’t use their own transport.

Playing in Dingwall late on a Sunday evening in February I can understand why players don’t want to drive there (and back) on their own.

  8. Can you imagine if we had a crowd at Celtic Park for the last home game of the season? What would that look like?

  9. If they open up for 10,000 on that date and I have my jag, then I am happy to go to Celtic Park to see the famous Glasgow Celtic. At £600 for the Season Book it will be the most expensive game I have ever attended.

and I dont care who the Manager is at that time.

Sorry pal, I just assumed it was another one of the clique having a go for my “negativity”.

    Not me amigo.

Never been in no clique, never will be.

    Everyone has an opinion.

    D :)

  11. Anyone who thinks politics has nothing to do with Celtic might want to consider whether there would be a Celtic at all without it. If you don’t understand that some Scottish nationalists don’t like thousands of people born in Scotland singing Irish nationalist songs and flying Irish nationalist emblems then you must be the ones who think politics has nothing to do with Celtic.

As for P67’s refusal to address the decline of the club in the depth required, this went beyond embarrassing a long time ago. Compare the Athletic article posted with the CQN headers and the difference is stark.

  12. While I don’t necessarily agree with all paul says regarding this government…..I do chuckle at the rabid responses from what I’d just call lackeys…. very amusing though somewhat disturbing.

  13. !!Bada Bing!!

Depends if shops that sell pitchforks and flaming torches are allowed to be open.

Paul will be on in a moment posting his own personal viewpoint on something or other, give some the chance to say “but Paul what about this thing that I want you to write about”

  15. SS- could be interesting, re a crowd for the last home game of the season……the car park could be all ticket.

  16. If Lennon is still the manager, I suggest we just open the kerrydale suite. Ample room for the demand and possible social distancing requirements. With the added benefit of a good strong drink to steel you for the spectacle.

  17. Another new world record for Sevco

The only club in Scottish senior leagues plus top 4 English divisions not to receive a red card OR a penalty against.

Average pens conceded per club = 6.8

Average Red cards per club = 4.7

    Sevco average NIL

  18. I’ve been wondering recently if the anti-Scottish Government stuff coming out of the club is being encouraged by ex-Labour goon and nuclear fan Brian Wilson. Nodding dog blogger here is happy to add to the unionist noise, it’s pretty pathetic over storm in a teacup stuff tbh. Blaming Covid or the Scottish Government for our disastrous performances lets our board and management team off the hook. They have to own this situation to make sure it isn’t repeated.

  19. Imagine for a minute if Greek match officials were brought into this country to take charge of the Glasgow Derby ?

The outcry from the MIB’s, the media and Sevco would be deafening.

Yet not an eyebrow raised, or question asked why it is ok for Scottish match officials to go abroad and take charge of a foreign domestic league match.

  20. If Neil is there, and it is his last game I would want to be there to clap him off, thanking for the good times, and looking forward to the next chapter. Same for some of the players, it might be their last game, I would feel sad if Broon left and I didnt get to say thanks.

That would be the grown up and supportive thing to do ?

One atrocious season, the first truelly woeful non achieving season in 11 years, does not diminish how I feel about the Celtic.

You cult members really hate Brian Wilson, don’t you?

Having said that, it looks like you all hate each other as well, so it’s maybe no surprise.

I’d always though you(se) were a bit weird, but I’d never realised just how much.

  22. Saint Stivs on 23rd February 2021 1:56 pm

I agree I’d like to say a proper respectful goodbye to a few of them with NFL and Broonie at the top of the list.

  23. Lennon is far more concerned about the size of his severance package than he is about saying goodbye to anyone on this forum.

  24. Cause Scottish refs are the pure dead brilliantist refs in aw the world so they ur … 😏😁😁

  25. AN DÚN on 23RD FEBRUARY 2021 2:12 PM

your not through the grief stage yet buddy, let it go, get positive for the futre, stop dwelling on what you cant change.

  26. In an official statement Sevco said today ” it’s nonsense for certain Sellick bloggers

to claim that we have had no red cards this season. It’s just ours come after the game is

finished and we have won it”

  27. It’s only football Saint. I won’t grief. I accepted our sporting fate months ago.

Besides as the old saying goes, disappoint is temporary, liquidation is permanent.

It’s incompetence I have little time for.
