‘FANTASTIC’: ROGIC HAILED

1

TOM ROGIC will not figure in this afternoon’s match against Ross County in Dingwall, a venue where he scored one of his three goals last season.

The Aussie international playmaker struck in the 4-1 victory against the Highlanders to join Ryan Christie (2) and Mikey Johnston on the scoresheet at the start of December.

However, although there will be no show from Rogic on this occasion, Neil Lennon believes he still has a part to play as the Hoops bid for a historic ten titles on the trot.

The Wizard of Oz looked to be heading for the Parkhead exit when the champions accepted a £4million bid from an unnamed Qatari club, but the manager, speaking to the Daily Record, said:

“He’s a fantastic player. I’m glad that he’s still here.

“He’s had some injury problems with his knee and recently an ankle, but it has been good to see him out back training.

“This weekend is too soon for him, but, hopefully, we’ll see him feature in the next few weeks.

“When he’s played under me the second time around, he’s had a huge impact on the games.

“I’m just hoping he’s fit and available for selection a lot more.”

Rogic made only 10 starts last season with 12 substitute appearances, but will now be given the opportunity to show he can still cut it at Parkhead where he has spent the last seven years.
