Faux civility and pathetic winners

169

I don’t know what’s worse, football fans who crave affirmation so much they indulge in faux acts of civil spirited behaviour, and who tell themselves they are loved by everyone, or a set who even though their side win their Euros group, boo and throw plastic cups at their manager.

The reality is, no one in the UK really cares about international football, at least, not in the way we care about our clubs.  If it was Celtic, you would not be caught dancing to disco music to try to convince yourself you were not a deeply miserable person (I’m not talking about you, obviously) and it wouldn’t matter how we topped a group, only that we actually achieved the feat.

The evidence is overwhelming that Scotland football fans were on holiday in Germany.  Good luck to them, I doubt there is a great deal of crossover between them and those who buy club season tickets.

England fans protesting about how uninspiringly they topped their group is even more pathetic.  They have qualified for two major finals in history (both on home territory).  That’s fewer than Czechoslovakia, which only existed for 74 years, and one less than the Czech Republic.  England fans have as poor a grasp on their own history as Davie Moyes has on the Czech-Slovak dissolution.

  1. I also know many Scotland supporters that are die hard Celtic supporters. Many of whom were in Germany

There is a large crossover nowadays.

Apart from the obvious dinosaurs, Scotland is a changed country. The mindset has changed, the people are majority tolerant and secular.

The problem is our leaders are pygmies and the dinosaurs that are allowed on our streets can bring us down to their level.

If they want to march, let them march round and round the Victorian lavy. Not on our streets.

We as a society must live in the now while much must remain in the past. Consigned to tje history books.

We have changed but more change is needed and will come.

The days of the rich man driving a car and the people using horses are in the past.

Now the rich man has a horse and the rest of us have cars.

Embrace the future and the changed Scotland

Photos from Celtic Park today. 2 cherrypickers painting maintenance. Fellow told me his company has contract for Celtic Park and Tynecastle. Other pictures are of the work ongoing for the “staircase”. Friendly security guard was obviously a Tim and not impressed by the amount of money he reckons was being spent. Didn’t mention the hun.

Have we appointed a new head of recruitment, chief scout, DoF or any other position assist/improve our football department?

A rather large red, white and blue agenda.

I live in SW Germany and my son lives in Stuttgart where he was able to get

a couple of tickets. Met lots of fine folks; so, nothing to do with red white and blue stuff ;)

  6. Since the Scottish devolution thing Scotland National team have been guff.

For sumdy who knows that Scotland is an Orange Masonic cesspit I CNGAF about the Scottish National team no matter who is in charge of it.

Pre-devolution, Scotland qualified for 6 World Cups & 2 European Championships between 1974 & 1998. Since devolution (1999), the Scotland national team has become a joke, crashing out of 2 Euros with 1 point. Conclusion: Scrap devolution if you want a successful football team.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GQ6uOIBWwAAi6gj?format=jpg&name=900×900

Conclusion – Whenever Scotland are guff my Irish immigrant bloodline has a wry smile on its face.

PS, It should always be remembered that Orange Masonic Scotland took in our starving and beaten Irish immigrant ancestors from way back in the day…when these evil bigots could just as easily have got their floots and drums oot and celebrated as our ancestors perished and starved to death in front of the dancing and jeering floot bawn ludges. 👀️

Fck the Scottish National Fitba Team….no matter who is in charge of it and blessed be forever the real Tims who knew what being a Tim actually meant ie: NOT a Scotland supporter. 👀️

PS, All seating at football stadiums and Scottish devolution all happened at the same time, no wonder Timmy has lost its ethos that made them stand out from the rest.

    🍀️

    Hmmm…

I read that Gourock piece this morning, I originally thought it was a spoof, sadly it’s for real. As regards English supporters and their national team, I disagree with the article, they are very much intense with their support. They started going into their pubs at 2pm and most of the pubs in Bowness-On-Windermere are Edinburgh George Street prices 🫣

*Many years back when I was buying the Football Monthly which eventually would be replaced by the weekly NME, there was an article proclaiming that the english supporters were more intae their club side than the Scottish, who put their country first and I thought, not the way I see it as it was the majority of huns that supported them and it wisnae just Celtic players who were abused, they even booed the original Ghost of White Hart Lane John White as they perceived that ralphie brand, who flopped when he went down south to Man City and then Sunderland a bit like the 2nd best player to come our of Hill of Beath the same year, should have been chosen instead.

Its only since the beast arrived and stuck a photie of betty windsor up in the dressing room that they became “brutish” and ditched their own national side that the Scottish support has grown tae include teuchters, wee club and Celtic supporters, as for the english, well they did have a sizeable support but NOT to the extent they have now where “you cannae take them anywhere” as IMHO they have been infiltrated by the far right and that was no more evident than when they rioted in Dublin with chants like “no surrender to the IRA’, in fact again IMHO they have become a bit trumpian.

  8. I’m of the generation which was messed about by the SFA. I will always want Scotland to win but I don’t lose any sleep if they get hammered, as I may well do, if it’s Celtic. If a Celtic player gets picked, I only hope he gets back to Parkhead fit.

In reality, our ancestors got treated like shit when they arrived here. No dogs. No Irish.

As for feeding, they tried to proselytise our ancestors by insisting that the only way to get fed was by renouncing their own Catholic religion and accept Presbyterianism. Their reward was a plate of soup.

Hence the frequently misused term “soup taker”

Indeed, it was to counteract this that the poor children’s dinner tables were set up and Bro Walfrid felt motivated to start our great club.

For myself, bannockburn, culloden, Wallace, Bonnie Prince Charlie etc hold no relevance as my grandparents were the first generation to leave Ireland for here.

Their experiences (.and mine to a lesser degree) were of hostility and discrimination in finding employment and housing, so the idea of us somehow being welcomed here is far from the truth as my family experienced it.

As far as international football goes, I’ll watch a game I think might be interesting, I like Ireland to win and don’t care whether Scotland win, lose or draw.

My interest extends to hoping our players don’t get injured and that they don’t get crap from the press or supporters if things don’t go well.

  13. Re Scotland

For me based on going to one match and a 3 day visit I met many fans of other teams. Hibs Hertz Dons etc. A few Celtic fans also.

A lot of St Mirren / Kilmarnock / Falkirk types whose second team was clearly Sevco. The vile abuse directed at Tony Ralston and Cal gave a lot away around our hotel.

SFA folks I met seemed balanced but the media were pathetic in their attempts to abuse Ralston especially. On and off record.

You must have been unfortunate in the mixture of Killie fans you meet. I was born there and my Killie friends or cousins dislike the ‘OF’ with equal measure. If any has a preference at all it depends if they attended St Joseph’s Academy or not 🤫

Respectfully Pablo, I think many of us could take a decent stab at what is worse.

The source of both behaviours can be a collective over inflated sense of ones’ selves ….

…. but one of these is relatively unthreatening to outsiders?

  17. Of course Hagi looks for the contact and it’s given.

Hard to see that was any more of a pen than Armstrongs.

Mind you Armstrong should never have been on the park given his lack of form or game time.

To be fair I meant that as a ‘catch all’ for central belt middle sized clubs. There was 1 Killie fan 4 St Mirren and 2 each Falkirk and Airdrie who has obvious rangers leavings. Only 1 out and out rangers guy.

Curious also there was no Michael Stewart in the press group with bbc.

Can see why some Celtic supporters like you feel disconnected to Scotland, and the bigots that are bound to be exist in Tartan Army. It’s so 1960’s, to boo a Celtic player who’d have thunked it, in this day and age.

OK get your point, I’m old enough to be at Scotland games when Celtic players were boooed. Moreover huns would turn up with their hun scarfs on, furthermore GSTQ was belted out before the game. Made the mistake, once, of going to the hun end before a game and nearly caused a riot, being young and daft, them were the days 🙄

  26. GARYGILLESPIESHAMSTRING on @4:35pm.

I wasn’t around in and up to 1888 I assume neither were you. 👀️

If…all of our ancestors “took the soup”…then why are we all riled up if opposition fans or anyone else calls us “soup takers” nowadays? 👀️

Why are we not called “Soup FC” or something along those lines? 👀️

Because without the glorious soup….there would be no football club built by Irish immigrants.

Wasn’t the “soup taking” approach carried out on the island of Ireland and was a major reason for most people leaving Ireland in the first place?

    j

    Again, I don’t know as I wasn’t there.

What I would be careful of is dewy eyed and emotional re-writers of history as at Celtic cyberspace we are drowning with re-writers of history.

And another thing…why do we all go along with curriculums which say that there was a “Famine” in Ireland?

We should NEVER be cuckolded into repeating the narrative of monsters, giving them a pass, and an excuse note. 👀️

This very same monster mindset will in years from now down the road will tell us there was a “Famine” in Gaza from 2023 onwards….and they will get away with it if not enough people vote for the WPB the only party who will align with powerful peaceful countries to give the stolen land back to its true people, the Palestinians.

The SNP, Greens, Lab, Lib, Con, etc won’t do it. They have EACH had about 20 hours of National TV debate time and they have not mentioned the Gaza Genocide even once. 👀️ 👀️ 👀️ 👀️

    Anyway back to the topic….

For example, moving away from the horrible plight of our ancestors, in the past 30 years we have had many [ celebrated ] Celtic historians who 9 times out of 10, would fall over themselves to tell us how lucky we are to have a club led by, Fergus McCann, Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell, etc.

But, none of these historians will tell us that, under the leadership of Bob Kelly, or even Michael Kelly, and Desmond White, there would have been NO Celtic agreement to the deeply Masonic 5WA. 👀️

The Kelly’s and White’s wouldn’t have sneakily put £49 old dead Rangers price onto, new Sevco tickets in 2016 after Sevco’s promotion.

The Kelly’s and White’s would have demonstrated REAL Integrity in 2012 and engineered a movement AGAINST ordinary Rangers fans being punished for the crooked schemes of David Murray and his banker accomplices theft of hundreds of millions of ££££’s all of it used to cheat Celtic and other teams since 1988 and onwards.

Look at the mess of Scottish football NOW mainly because of an Integrity famine, especially at Celtic FC. 👀️

There would have been NO need for the easily dismissed Res12, as the Kelly and White board would have called ALL of these issues out as they happened. 👀️

The Kelly’s and White’s would have put Timdom into the REAL picture when the SNP pulled their Kangaroo Govt Summit stunt after the [ shame game ] where 3 Celtic players got booked, and fake corrupt puppet Lawwell went to the Kangaroo summit stunt, and made Celtic FC look like fearty cowardly shytebags, with Manager Neil Lennon being blamed for the Celtc 1-0 Huns [ shame game ] which propelled the evil SNP down the OBAFA, or the jail Timmy bill.

The Kelly and White board would have been to the point and up front about the SNP, and probably would have levelled with Celtic fans that if you vote for SNP, then Parkhead is the last place you should be, and they would have been smart and savvy enough to announce ths during a “live” media conference, leaving everybody in NO DOUBT that the mixing of the SNP and Celtic fans will only lead to poisonous outcomes.

And the old board allowed 30-35% of the attendance into see Celtic for free via a lift over at the gate, and were accused of stealing that money 👀️ and every single one of these new waves of, ahem, Celtic historians, and planted blog lickers and suckers for the PLC, seem to be engaged in a [ conspiracy of silence ] to ensure that future Celtic fans view board up until 1994 = bad guys, and PLC 1994 onwards = good guys! 👀️
