Federate with England or lose your talented teens

815

Celtic players’ participation in the World Cup ended yesterday as Efe Ambrose’ Nigeria were eventually overpowered by France.  Baring injury, Efe will be in Champions League duty in Iceland two weeks from today, which leaves the player little scope to rest weary limbs for the season ahead.

The fitness management of Efe and Emilio Izaguirre throughout the season will need to take a different path from the rest of the squad.  The search for cover for both players should be a priority.

It’s a pity for Dundee United, and for Scottish football, that Ryan Gauld seems on the verge of leaving for Sporting Lisbon at only 18-years-old.  United have seen enough to know they have a genuine talent on their hands, but the player’s glory years all lie ahead of him.

United will continue to lose genuine teenage talent until they, along with other aspiring Scottish clubs, get a change of environment.  If the Scottish Premiership folded into the English Football League structure Ryan Gould would remain in Tayside for years to come.

USA go home with heads held high.

England and others, go home in ignominy.

  2. What a great game for ‘Tim’ Howard and also for the US in extra time. Also great to see a game without any suggestion of a ‘dive’ from any of the players. Coaches may have raised the standards of their morals.

Tremendous atmosphere in the build-up all through Cape Cod.

A more sinister turn in recent years is the increased abduction of children by the Israeli Army – apparently the children are being detained in make-shift camps. I’ve seen several different videos similar to this in the past year. One should be enough. When lawless behaviour such as the abduction of children is in freefall like this and , it should make everyone sit up and take notice of the kind of behaviour we are paying for with our own taxes, while our apathy encourages it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofWlpFJUV34

It’s not just the children that are victims of bombing campaigns from Britain, the USA, and Israel – this is even more sinister, heartbreaking and disgusting.

Where are the pitchforks that UK tax-paying citizens have aimed at Rolf Harris during lunchbreaks ?

  17. skyisalandfill

Don’t get me started on what happens here in the UK. Social Services are now targetted to remove children from their family.

The result is that those SWs that are human have left/ are leaving. What is left behind are those that fit the agenda either by ignorance or ambition.

The stories I could tell you are not that far removed from what you just saw on that video above.

But the apathy in this country, and the stigmas strengthened by the media, is such that the establishment gets away with it here just as much as the Israeli government.

And I laugh when I hear that voting “yes” will solve all these problems.

The only way a “yes” vote will make a difference is if it gives a mandate to a total catharsis of the Scottish Parliament, and, my own preference, a full, fresh election of the population aged 20-30 who have had no involvement in politics to date. A breakdown of every institution in Scotland, from the judiciary system, to the rozzers, civil service, council staff and sports government.

    Everything short of a revolution.

Sorry for the rant, I just despair of it all sometimes – and I’m one of the lucky ones :(

I don’t believe that voting yes will solve all of these problems but I do think that it could allow for a clearout of the establishment. Cue Ernie pointing out my mistake.

I share your thoughts on that amigo. The Yes campaign hasn’t rocked my boat at all, but I won’t let them put me off it altogether.

An unselfish vote is Yes imo. But should it happen, then serious changes need made, and many of those in the SNP and the Yes camp will need despatched quickly.

A fresh approach – I genuinely like the idea of putting our youngsters (under 40s) in place.

Sadly, none of the above is likely to happen.

Mibbes I can start a campaign party – NOOAPS :)

Vote for the young bassas. Mmmmm not sure about that, although I take the point that those that have the most to lose or gain from the decision should take the biggest interest. I have a sad premonition that we will wake up to a no vote and the realisation that perhaps our only chance to lose the shackles of The UK and opportunity to tear up the current rule book will be gone.
