    turnbull and mcgregor both poor shots from 25yds – a wee bit o guil would have rolled the ball to the unmarked Kyogo – they are not using his sharpness

    Fair play to Bitton. Played his role well.

     

     

    A mixed bag from Abada – did brilliantly for the goal, was poor for theirs. A “project” methinks.

    no way are we in control – we are a flimsy team against an average team. Its end to end stuff with celtic looking more dangerous. we should win this but more concerning is how easily teams can get at us.

    We are the better team . Towards the end of the half , the Hungarians pressing seemed to slacken off and we may find ourselves with a bit more space as the second half progresses . Definitely there for the winning provided we keep it tidy at the back .

    Great first half from us Stephen Welsh in the wars as predicted by P67.

     

     

    Slackness gifted the goal interesting to see if Ange changes personnel earlier than he did for n Saturday, the more Ferencvaros come at us, gives our attacking players to break again and score.

     

     

    Like to see wee Jamesie take over.

    Good to have the advantage at the break.

     

    We’re a better team but they seem more comfortable in possession, esp generating creativity from their mid.

     

    Our midfield still isn’t gelling with little creative spark between Calum, Turnbull and our fleetfooted attackers.

     

    Missing Rogic magic.

     

    Think – or hope – they’ll tire allowing us more chances.

     

    Agree Mikey J on and move Jota to RW for Abada. Aside from that, hard to see who comes on to make us that much better.

    Score first in the second half and I see no way back for them. We look shakey at times but in truth they’ve created very little against us. In Jota and Kyogo we’ve class upfront that they simply don’t possess.

    we have 4 right sided players playing in the back 4 , the balance is not there , Ralston. playing like he is still going over his new contract needs to waken up and concentrate on the game in hand.

    Got to be happy with 1-2 at half time.

     

    Need to tighten up a few things though, especially when not in possession.

     

    They are getting too much time and space in centre mid. This puts pressure on back 4 as passes are coming to their forwards with little pressure on the passer. Dangerous stuff. We’ve got away with it so far as they are not very good. But keep giving them free time & space to pick out a defence splitting pass, and they’ll eventually benefit. Bitton getting little help from Calmac and Turnbull defensively through the middle.

     

    With the ball, Calmac has been very poor first half. Hospital passes, with poor pace on pass too often. Terrible touch st times. Turnbull getting around the pitch but not productive enough going forward imo. His blast over the bar was just an example. Jota or Kyogo at least get that on target. We look best when Jota & Kyogo are involved. They’re our better players, no doubt. Bitton gets pelters (often deserved) but with his first touch he controls the ball in tight spots and quickly looks to distribute to a team mate in space. Doesn’t panic on the ball. His weakness is defending when opponents have possession, which again brings me back to Calmac & Turnbull, who must do more defensively when we don’t have the ball (even if that is their weakness too). Back 4 need midfield to cut out supply to their front players.
