The Times today report that Uefa will shortly announce Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanctions against Paris St-Germain, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Roma and Juventus. Newco’s remarkable Europa League run, and subsequent player sales, will provide a stay of execution. They could even announce the first operational profit in their history when accounts are published.
With football on the ropes for two years, Uefa loosened FFP regulations and announced the system would be reviewed. Going forward, clubs will be limited in what proportion of turnover they can spend on football operations, which is a decent proxy for a sustainable business model.
Taking on PSG, Barcelona, Inter, Roma and Juventus would be a huge stake in the ground for Uefa and a win for fans of well-run clubs, who want to see the end of debt-fuelled speculative gambling in the game. Celtic fans know more than most what it is like competing with a death wish club, intent on driving off the cliff edge, if it wins football games. For us, it was divisive, as some wanted Celtic to compete in the spending stakes; it also cost us trophies and access to European competition.
Newco show no signs of having learned lessons from the demise of Oldco Rangers. Although Celtic were a shambles in season 2020-21, it took cumulative losses approaching £100m to stop our title run. Strong financial regulation is on the side of the good guys.
I expect we will touch on this again before the week is out.

According to Boyd (on Sky News) Morelos is showing up late for training, not training properly, not behaving properly away from training etc etc.
Surprisingly, considering Morelos is Boyd’s favourite player, he is not holding back in criticizing him.
AT
I thick you could get a half pint 🤣
Thought Boyd would be telling him to keep his chins up.
Upgrades of concession three-match packages for use by an adult will be priced at £180 and are only available at the Ticket Office or by calling the Customer Service line on 0141 230 1967.
——————-
thats just being greedy.
Apologies, £129 for CL package. Mot 143
£129 for package , so £43 per ticket.
In 2017
£114 for package, so £38 per ticket
2.5% compound interest per year (is that tautism?)
Based on Bank of England calculator – looks about right
No truth in the rumour that the squad made Morelos do the Truffle Shuffle
Paul67,
If the UEFA sanctions involve fines then won;t the cheats just allocate that spend and take the hit ? Let’s hope it’s something more meaningful.
Morelos not in Holland will set poor ole Gio up come Wednesday evening with an albatross of a dilemma that he lacked the firepower to challenge PSV with only one forward and no ‘Hail Mary’ option from the bench….
Great. Oh and what is the hun equivalent of the Hail Mary ?

My package has been valued at £99……..

Does it look like a 99?
More like a 33………..
🤣🤣
I have just bought my CL Package online and, although manageable enough, it was not as smooth as I would expect from a Professional organisation of a reasonable size.
I`m sorry to say that I invariably find Celtic Fc Ltd. quite amateurish in these matters.
Perhaps endearing in a way but I would prefer a smoother operation.
PS Also, I only knew about the availability of tickets because I read it on here !!
HS
I apparently have no reserved tickets

There was a pile on last night in replies to Kev- J, it served no purpose whatsoever
It serves the purpose of showing disagreement with the appearance of racism on CQN. All of the posters who chose to comment or “pile on”, did so independently because of their own revulsion.
The fight against racist white supremacy won’t be won on an insignificantly small part of the Celtic blogosphere
Too true but you defend what spaces you can. I can’t control or influence reddit or Q Anon but I can try and keep this green space free from creeping right wing racism. The alternative is to give in or leave.
Mein host is a personal friend of yours ask him why this is allowed
That’ll be a surprise to both of us. I have met Paul around 6 times in the past 15 years and more than half of them were at official CQN events. Our interactions have been friendly but this level of contact does not reach my definition of persona friend.
I specifically asked Paul 67 and the mod up front why this was allowed- I did not do it behind the back of the blog- I let people know I was asking this question.
Ask if this is the reason why
I didn’t get the point of the Jerry McGuire clip (thankfully it was short enough for me to tolerate my Tom Cruise aversion). I was expecting the “Show me the money” bit as if the suggestion was that racism is click bait. I don’t think that argument, if that is what was intended, stands up. The racist bile has driven posters away, who don’t want to be associated with it. It has been banned where it appears on other sites. All I can do is express my individual disgust at what I am hearing and reading.
If Paul and the mod agree- they will take action. If they disagree, they will lose clicks and custom. Racism is not going to attract posters to this blog. So if you have a theory as to why it gets more tolerance here- you might have to spell it out less cryptically than the Jerry McGuire clip was able to reveal.
Was the message about the CL tickets not just for those who get their seats moved to accommodate UEFA delegates and press?
If you are on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme- is this automatic?
SFTB
Yes, I just realised that, eejit that I am 😎
I am on the scheme so will come out automatically
Is £43 appropriate during a cost of living crisis?
Or should Celtic have given something back to faithful fans who are maybe struggling heating and eating.

I am not moved for these games but was able to buy my tickets….or I have I misunderstood your enquiry?

It was me who got confused. Couldn’t buy tickets as i am on HCTS
Back of the class for me!!

From my mate, says if your seat has to be moved you will be informed and reapply for diff garunteed seat.
As far as I know it affects the extension(so to say) of the comfy chairs for uefa delegates in the North stand(the band you look over to).
You would be informed by the club and advised to reply
It’s odd as it only effects his seat and that to his right which is an aisle seat.friends to the left got no letter and are in same seat..

Julien gone permanently. 3 year contract.
Thanks big fella.

BIG WAVY on 23RD AUGUST 2022 2:05 PM
i`m pleased about that. Even though he often played well enough, I never felt comfortable when he was involved in our team .
Cheerio for now.
Guys,
Some things on and off CQN that have me baffled:-
In Feb 22 Celtic announced £ 27.6m pre tax profit for the season to date. Why not use some of that profit to reward faithful fans in our Euro journey. ?
Unchallenged comments on CQN that everyone who voted Brexit was a racist. Mick Lynch was recently up in Glasgow, possibly the question should have been aimed at him ?
How can we negotiate and pay a transfer fee to a Russian club ?
Where is the state run energy company that Nicola Sturgeon promised?
What she can do immediately is use some of the hundreds of millions of pounds underspend each year to help hard pressed consumers. At least that is feasible and would make a great photographic opportunity.
HH. Fedupwithbullshi@csc
From @InsidetheSPFL, Euro ticket hikes for 10 years..
54% rise for STH – 70% rise for Non-STHs.
2012-13: STH’s £84 – Non STH’s £105
2013-14: STH’s £84 – Non STH’s £115
2016-17: STH’s £99 – Non STH’s £124
2017-18: STH’s £114 – Non STH’s £150
2022-23: STH’s £129 – Non STH’s £180
HH
That’s how we could afford to buy Ajeti…
Greenpinata,
1. Market demand will probably mean we can sell at those prices. We have a £100m + revenue target to hit this year for the suits.
2. As Stewart Lee would say – It wasn’t just racists who voted for Brexit, C**ts did too. (…or in this instane ideological lefties who’ve always been anti-EU).
3. Pay the outstanding monies owed to the club in Sweden rather than the Russians. It’s why we’ll get him for about £1.5m
4 & 5 Pass I’m afraid…
HH
Big WAVY,
Wow. Non STH’s £180 . Is that correct ? £60 per ticket.
If so, makes £49 tickets look like a positive bargain
HH.

C**ts = Celts
Greenpinata,
Costs £97 to see Arsenal as a non-STH…..
But yep….as someone once said “football, without middle-class fans, is nothing…”
HH
Morelos looks to be done at Ibrox. Boyd’s comments won’t do much to help boost transfer value. Lovely.

I’m not convinced Kev-J is a racist, he is most certainly a lost soul wandering about in the dark recesses of political bubbles on the internet, one YouTube/Twitter link to another, IMO a displaced anger issue is the main trigger for his incessant posting on these weird political conspiracy theories, I also don’t see CQN having a big racist issue to cause the level of concern that you clearly have
Too true but you defend what spaces you can. I can’t control or influence reddit or Q Anon but I can try and keep this green space free from creeping right wing racism. The alternative is to give in or leave.
It’s interesting you see yourself as some sort of frontline soldier for CQN on racism, Racism out with the social media bubble is of more concern to me personally.
That’ll be a surprise to both of us. I have met Paul around 6 times in the past 15 years and more than half of them were at official CQN events. Our interactions have been friendly but this level of contact does not reach my definition of persona friend.
I recall Paul67 replying to you on this blog, I think after a meeting at Blantyre CSC(it was some time ago) he considered you a personal friend, recently you were waxing lyrical about meeting members of Paul67 family, you are known for being CQN’S pretorian guard on CQN if Paul67 is the point of critical posts on the blog you are invariably the first to rush to his defense
Clearly, traffic on CQN has decreased during CQN time in the Celtic blogosphere, and competition has increased, Sentinel Celts, for example, we all know how the world of clickbait works, shock jock controversy, arguments, insults, and fights get people reaching for the popcorn and clicking in, on the evening Kev-j was posting it clearly drew the clicks in, as you said yourself and I quote “All of the posters who chose to comment or “pile on” “ Kev-J is an easy target for some posters to ridicule and feel superior if he is the heinous racist agitator you suggest T, what does that say about who controls the blog that gives him the platform ?
Blogs thrive on disagreement, it brings clicks and money from advertisers, it may be an unpalatable fact, but a fact nevertheless
Fat Charlie binned for being…
.Fat Charlie, Boyd was roasting him pre match on Saturday about not being fit…….can’t see another club touching him,he will run his contract down probably
Folks re Sevcos repeated same club myth which is essentially based on the premise that it was the company and not the club that was liquidated in 2012 …do we have any legal eagles and or accountants on the site who can put this to bed by specific legal reference ( company/ insolvency law) and precedence …?.if so where can this be found in order that I can take great delight in pointing this out to several Zombies I am acquainted with 🤔👍
€1 million for Jullien, and about the same again for wages saved,Ajeti next hopefully
