Fiasco at Celtic

Early in the summer I said that to re-sign Kelechi Ineanacho would be an admission of failure that we were unable to scout a player better than one who was unable to compete for 90 minutes last term.

Then we were told the manager wanted him, while hearing that it was difficult to recruit players to Scotland (which is true). Kelechi was invited back, presumably because those privy to inside info on our recruitment plans believed he was better than our alternatives.

Celtic had an option to retain the player for next season, allowed it to lapse, provided Kelechi’s agent with a ‘Player in demand’ opportunity and saw him sign for Turkish side Bursaspor. Meanwhile, there is not a whisper from Celtic. Genuine incredulity among the fans is unanswered, I can only assume because explaining would not make things more palatable.

We will speak more about the direction of the club before the start of the season, but there is plenty to be alarmed about.

Your opinions about black people, folk that work for the NHS and Brendan Rodgers are very misguided…

I’m glad you are not a Celtic supporter, you would never understand our values and what we truly represent.

It will be of no comfort to know you are right. In my dealings way back in 2010 I could see no process for taking what were projects forward…..

PL was master and commander I saw little evidence of process and procedures and the capacity to do what was needed.

PL was competent and confident in his own view of how to run the club. The fact that he failed to include others in much of his process was unfortunate but not terribly damaging at the time, though we may be paying a price now for the lack of robust and disciplined organization.

This is further exposed due to the feckless board and weak executive leadership.

Disappointed that there was no room for that legend of half time entertainment Mr Wu to display his amazing ball juggling skills.
