Fifa fines. Well, this is awkward

It will surprise none of you that Fifa degreed the poppy to be an inappropriate political symbol for a football shirt, or to be paraded at a game. We’ve been slightly ahead of the game in Scotland, where the innocuous symbol which was conceived to raise money to aid destitute, often debilitated, former servicemen eat and live, has transformed into a symbol of pseudo-nationalism.

When you politicise the poppy you rob it of its universality. Today’s symbol is lesser because of this that those sold in previous decades. You can argue what political symbols are right and wrong if you have time to waste, but what is now beyond dispute is that in Britain, we pick and choose what political symbols are regarded as appropriate for football games.

Fifa and Uefa indulge in no such ambiguity.

Delighted at news that we will rest more players tonight. It will have the result of recharging some deflated batteries as well as giving opportunity to players who will benefit from the game.

    The sense of”we know what is best for celtic,and who is fit to run our club”on here is palpable.I bet there are tens of thousands of fans going every week who now think the board are finally doing a great job.On CQN,the Res 12 has been a big thing,but not throughout the main support.Everyone has a choice.if you think that you cant go see the team every week because of this Board,then dont.That is your choice,no problem,but to try and talk down people who will still go,is quite frankly,disgraceful,though going by the main culprits,not surprising.

     

    The “Dont Go Gestapo”.Some,like a broken down record,who think they have to continuously reiterate the fact they”Wont be back”.Ok,we have heard it,we know.Please dont tell me again.I am sure you will be missed next season when the STs break all records.As they most certainly will.

    If PT stick 11 players behind the ball tonight I would like one of the central defenders, when he has the ball near the half way line, instead of a side ways pass or a forward pass to a marked player, to take a run with it. I think this has been the only criticism of Brendan’s team this season. I don’t know if it is to keep team shape but I always feel when a defender runs forward it disrupts the opposition mid/defence. The best example was Efe creating a couple of goals and several chances when we beat Heats 7-0.

    I think there are more times he could do it… I seen a few times this season when it’s 0-0 and there seems to acres of space to run into and we keep probing and passing. I don’t mean go every time but sometimes it’s a variation that gives you a result. I didn’t see the Dundee game but I don’t remember many runs from defenders against Hamilton (I could be wrong though)

    The problem I note here is that certain customers see them as a company obviously with an Engine room. Sounds a bit hunnish to me.

     

     

    But hey ho each customer to their own. As a supporter I’ll refrain from giving your company my money and keep supporting my club from a distance.
