Celtic 2-0 Hearts / Scottish Premiership / 21 May 2017
Celtic’s final match of the league season coincided with the 50th anniversary of winning the European Cup in 1967 – the first British club to lift the trophy. The Celtic fans honoured the team, known as the “Lisbon Lions”, with a stunning full 360-degree card display around Celtic Park. The Hoops went on to win the match to secure an entire league season undefeated on their way to winning the Scottish Premiership – part one of their ‘invincible treble’. Here is the awesome display from the Celtic supporters…

And here are the very worthy opponents that we face to win this award…

DORTMUND SUPPORTERS

Borussia Dortmund v AS Monaco / 11-12 April 2017
Ahead of their UEFA Champions League home game against AS Monaco, a bomb attack hit Borussia Dortmund’s team bus, causing the match to be postponed by one day. Borussia Dortmund fans started a spontaneous campaign – most notably on social media – offering a bed and shelter for Monaco fans needing to stay the extra night. Borussia Dortmund’s nomination for the 2017 award follows them winning the 2016 FIFA Fan Award, jointly with Liverpool supporters.

COPENHAGEN SUPPORTERS

FC Copenhagen 3-1 Brondby / DBU Pokalen Final / 25 May 2017
After winning the Danish Cup final against Brondby, FC Copenhagen players offered the trophy to their fans. The supporters decided to pause their celebrations to deliberately carry the trophy into the hands of a wheelchair-bound fan. The inclusive gesture was a touching moment amidst the Danish side’s jubilant celebrations. As the rest of the support built up to a cacophony of noise, the fans lifted the trophy with the wheelchair-bound fan.
