Final act of Heroism from Craig Whyte

438

Just a few days after the Blue Knight’s offered Craig Whyte £500k for his shares in Rangers Our Hero sold to Charles Green, who is now owner of the embattled football club, for £2.  Craig has doubled his money in a year after buying Rangers for £1 last May, but as he accepted a bid for his shares a quarter of a million times smaller than that of the Blue Knights, curiosity has peaked.

For many months Celtic Quick News has billed Craig Whyte as the only show in town, that he would only sell to someone who paid his substantial asking price, or who was his proxy.  No one is suggesting Whyte has pocketed £2 for his trouble and dropped off the scene in a sudden bout of benevolence.  There is clearly tons we don’t know about this deal.

We’re grateful to Paul McConville for his research on Charles Green today.  I am sure Paul only spent a short time researching the subject but it was nonetheless a fruitful endeavour.

I may have missed specific reference to his security over Ibrox but Mr Green does not have the disposition of someone who owns a football club without a ground, so it would be reasonable to assume that Whyte’s security is now in the control of Green.  In time we’ll find out how these assets changed hands but I suspect nothing will be said publicly on this subject for now.

Craig Whyte did not start the Rangers crisis, he never had an EBT from the club and he repaid all of Rangers bank debt.  He has been enormously entertaining during his 53 weeks in charge and, from the little information provided on the 20-or-so mostly-anonymous venture capitalists who now own Rangers, he has passed the club onto what looks like an equally rewarding group of people.

If nothing else, he parted ensuring what is left of the club didn’t get into the hands of the Rangers support, accompanied by a pushy investor with deep pockets.

Cheers for that, Craig.  Once this blows over, we need to get you in for the Paradise Windfall.

I’m still freezing.  Hug a radiator CSC.

  1. And he has mentioned Tesco twice so far.

He is a scammer of the highest order.

He has just now made a calling to the powers that be, we NEED euro football, dearie, dearie me.

Cults – with Tony Watt coming through, I would sell Stokes. We need a different option and that would be a big, mobile target man.

I’d sell Ki as well, he’ll do a good job in a league where he gets more time on the ball.

We have so many guys out on loan who will not be first team players at CP, so we should be having a major clearout this summer. We only need a couple of quality signings, preferably guys with plenty of CL/EL experience. I would say a commanding CB and the target man I mentioned above.

Listen, it didnae matter if it was Charles Green, Al Green or Hughie Green certain things are going to happen:

    2) The ‘newco’ will be admitted to the SPL next season.

    3) Sanctions will be limited to a 1 yr ban from Europe.

    +++++

Uefa might just think a little differently.

Fantastice atmosphere and overall performance by the Bhoys today and thought the Green Brigade were in top form as ever. What I didn’t reckon on was getting brain freeze and the inability to even draw breath walking round the Jock Stein stand towards the Superstore before the match (I can now just about feel my facial muscles and been at home for over an hour..!!)

Having now watched today’s interview with Charles Green my first thoughts of the man were “I wouldn’t fancy my chances buying a second hand old banger from that chancer..!!” (Apologies in advance if this has already been mentioned earlier as haven’t been able to read back on the blog yet.)

Yer aff yer heid. We usually try to sit outside but today was beyond parody. I did stick my head out the door and give you a pitying shake of the head that is usually reserved for the kids doing something daft. Did you actually get any heat or did the wind whip it away?

But you are very right, a most excellent day. Bet the Thai Tims can’t wait to get home to a bit of sunshine.

  13. The Elvis cleaners were the Elvis Cleaning Company, an act for hire throughout Scotland. They’re not hysterical or anything, more an lol than a pmsl, but if it was the latter, as least they’d clean it up.

As I thought during the game, Webster should have been sent off for his forearm smash in Sami in the first-half. Disgrace of a player. Hope his team gets stuffed on Saturday.

I am 100% convinced that PL will be true to his word, as the GB encouraged. Maybe the Mark Daly doc will be the game-changer for other SPL reps.

There is as much chance of UEFA intervening as Paul’s suggestion in yestedays article happening.

  20. Enjoyed the match today ( Except for the cold and the drunken tube waving the flag in the Jock Stein upper before bring finally removed). Loved the entertainment from the jugglers to the Thai Tims to the girl singing at the end. Good performance with the fans, esp the the GB being superb.

Did anyone notice the two cops following Neil closly when we were doing the lap of honour, thought that was very sinister being in our own stadium, hopefully there has not been any recent threats that we do not know about.

Also sad to see Villarreal go down, will miss the Celtic banners.

I’d be easy with departures of all loan guys – Darren O’Dea still strikes me as a possibility…?

I sense Hooper more likely to leave than Stokes – I like them both but was interested to see Sammi/Hooper partnership working so well. My view is Sammi can make most players better…

We will have Izzy, Kayal and Commons re-emerging next season which is like 3 proven signings coming in.

One player I’d welcome back in a Heartbeat is Paul McGowan – he could be the Mulgrew story all over again…?

    Scott Brown – I can take or leave..either way I don’t mind.

The biggest signing must be NF Lennon!
