Final day to appeal Lord Glennie decision set to expire

1163

Charles Green, like Whyte and Duff & Phelps before him, is asking for admittance to the SPL on the basis that Rangers FC is a distinct entity from its legal identity.  While this theory has been strongly advocated by SPL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, by necessity, if you claim the football benefits of being ‘Rangers’, specifically player registrations, you also inherit Rangers penalties.

Although Rangers clearly won their challenge to Lord Carloway’s 12-month ban on player registration at the Court of Session last month when Lord Glennie referred the matter back to the SFA Appellate Panel, as the full ramification of the decision became clear to Green, who then had an irrevocable contract to buy Rangers or its assets, he floated the idea that he might appeal.

The SFA, correctly, decided not to instruct the Appellate Panel until the 21 day period when an appeal can be raised, which elapses today, has passed, just in case Green tells Lord Glennie he’s got it all wrong.

All this has been terribly confusing, not to mention expensive, for Scottish football, but with yesterday’s news that Rangers have a prima facie case to answer for subverting Scottish football for over a decade, the obstacles before Green are clearly insurmountable.  There is reason to believe we can quickly reach some clarity.

The SFA must, without delay, convene the Appellate Panel to consider Lord Glennie’s instructions and apply an appropriate penalty on the various legal and ethereal bodies which claim to be ‘Rangers’.  If the Appellate Panel suspend or expel what is left of the football club from the SFA, as must surely be expected, all questions about fan pressure, morals and votes become moot.

In this case, history will record the folly of Green’s appeal to civil law as the act which finally killed off any chance of ‘Rangers’ surviving, conveniently letting the SPL off the hook, while Green would be obliged to dispose of the stadium for a modest return to those capable of forming a genuinely new football club at some point in the future.

You are either a hun or the worst closet Celtic fan I have ever came across.

We don’t need a goalie? We only have one on the books.

    As for selling Forrest.

    Sunday May 24th?

June surely? Or is this all part of a warp in the time-space continuum?

I could go off on one here, but I won’t. I believe (and it is just my belief) that if the chairmen of the SPL clubs don’t do the right thing, then Scotsmen will. Regardless of which club they support but with an equal passion for a square go.

Time alone will tell and till the bell tolls I’m not going to upset myself too much about it.

I was told by a journalist here in Australia a couple of weeks ago that HMRC had had enough, why didn’t the Scottish Press have the same knowledge. Or maybe they did.

Maybe it is them, more than anybody, that should be under scrutiny.

  6. Paul67 etal.

When I started supporting Celtic 60 years ago I never knew about forces from outside football giving Rangers a helping hand, but they were at it then and most likely long before then, the weird decisions that went with every game, they were ably assisted by the men in black, the only difference between then an now is today you can see it happening before your very eyes,T/V replays confirm it really does happen nearly ever game, those weird decisions weren’t a figment of my imagination, they were cheating all those years ago.

The present day cheating isn’t a figment of anyones imagination,it’s true,as you (Paul) have pointed out there is prima facie proof that it has been going on,Rangers are rotten to the core, and when you have SPL Chairmen arguing on their behalf, you come to realise there is something fundamentally wrong with football in Scotland today. The secrecy that stems from the Masonic Lodge is probably the biggest problem, they close ranks at the blink of an eye, they will tell lies to cover for one of their own, there should be no referees that are in the lodge, but with their mysterious ways how are we to find who is in, and who is outside, secrecy prevails in Scotland today.

When this fiasco comes to an end (if ever) Celtic should take the lead in the cleaning up of Scottish Football,Starting with the men in black.

Why has there never been a Celtic director placed in the top job at the SFA,I know Jack McGinn had a top job,but I can never, ever remember him putting his mark on the job.

Peter Lawell would be a master stroke if Celtic could get him to take over from C Ogilvie, when he takes the hint that his services are no longer required.

I was reading on the blog last night a post from TTTT,B, I whole heartedly agree with you, those titles are tainted, who would be happy to get a few more titles than we earned,They should be taken off Rangers, but destined for the dust bin, history books rewritten, and for each year that Rangers won a title that they were disqualified for Cheating,A comment in the football journals would be fine.If it was noted in the football history books with an asterix why there are no winner in year 1997 to whenever,A footnote stating, that the team who won these titles, cheated systematically every year whilst winning them.

By the way Celtic will be largest winners of titles after a couple of years,so it would be better to win under our own steam, with no outside help.

    “How’s about this?

We have the share, in the oldco at least.

We need the share to play in the SPL, but so does anybody else.

If we simply retain it, they cannot invite another club unless we agree to the transfer.

Perhaps we should sell it for £1billion.

Or perhaps we should hold out for silly money”

Your Honour I rest my case :))))) HAIL HAIL.

we will have enough goalies on our books at youth level, besides, we wont flippin need one, we could play with ten men and win the league …

and if u seriously think we wont be selling a couple of “assets” if they are in 3, then u are as deluded as them, which makes you an orange bastard…

  10. SorryCardiffbhoy, on reading that post it looks like i’m saying you got it wrong, which is not my intention. Apologies

Can you elaborate further good sir?

  14. would this be the same fans who spout forth their poisonous, catholic hating bile every chance they get? The same fans who parade that same hatred of catholics when they hold their orange walks? The same fans who go on the rampage, destroying town centres, whenever their team travels away from home? The same fans who still maintain that they are the victims of a fenian campaign to destroy their great and proud history? The same fans who threaten the lives of anyone who does or says anything which they don’t like?

No I can’t think why anyone would want to upset such a lovely group of people!

Old Tim@13 .28 – ‘As an administrator and legislator he [Sir Robert Kelly]was a highly regarded talent and his expertise were utilised by both the Scottish Football League and the SFA, serving as president for both authorities. His persuasive debating skills were demonstrated in 1952 when he took on and defeated the SFA – who were threatening Celtic with expulsion unless the Irish tricolour was removed from the Parkhead flagpoles – in what became known as the ‘Flag Flutter’

kitbala. Fella you are right not to let it upset you but dont bury your head in the sand there has been a plan for Rangers fro the day Sir David Murray sold the club for £1 to Craig Whyte imo.The plan is progressing well and old Rangers have gone and there debt has gone with them. Now Craig Whyte agrees to sell out to a Mr.Charles Green for 5.5 Million who very quickly forms The Rangers and applies for entry into the SPL and who can say for certainty it wont be granted ?self preservation is a very strong instinct indeed ( so the other 11 clubs may well say yes ).I hope you are with me so far because I cant see much recent stupidity on there part.Where I see stupidity as I said earlier is from the other clubs and the creditors allowing this to take place.I agree that Scottish football is at a crossroads and has to decide on Integrity or money and I would not be sure that they will pick integrity.H.H.

Forgive me for not remembering Paul’s quote exactly but whatever part of my Club is dependant on RFC/Zombies/Newco/Sevco etc is a part I am happy to lose. My response to those who are dependant on games v them would be “cheerio, cheerio, cheerio!”

    Paul,

There are still a few issues that I can’t quite understand in the rangers bankruptcy saga

    Craigy Bhoy White

Apparently our hero, borrowed about 25 million quid from Ticketus

He paid off rangers overdraft of 18 million quid from this 25 million quid

He had 7 million quid left

Did he put that into rangers coffers or snaffle that for his “expenses”?

Does he still owe ticketus 25 million quid?

Does he still have a security over someone (the old rangers maybe?) for his 18 million/25 million quid loan?

    Ticketus

Apparently Ticketus are specialist in the business of short term loans to football clubs. Everybody and their dog knew that the huns were at deaths door.

Did Ticketus really give the huns 25 million quid without any security?

Did ticketus “secure” their loan against season book sales only?

Are the specialists taking a bath for 25 million quid?

    Surely not.

Anyway, I’m thoroughly enjoying all this but must admit to being very slightly disappointed that there was never a “D” day when the huns actually go/went bust. I mean there was

    Administration day

    CVA rejection day

    Newco formed day

Hopefully newco rejection day on july 4th

Maybe even dual contract title stripping day also

But the oldco is still limping along somewhere not actually dead yet, (albeit mortally wounded.)

Should we just nominate a day when we can celebrate and have an annual remembrance?
