Final day to appeal Lord Glennie decision set to expire

1163

Charles Green, like Whyte and Duff & Phelps before him, is asking for admittance to the SPL on the basis that Rangers FC is a distinct entity from its legal identity.  While this theory has been strongly advocated by SPL chief executive, Neil Doncaster, by necessity, if you claim the football benefits of being ‘Rangers’, specifically player registrations, you also inherit Rangers penalties.

Although Rangers clearly won their challenge to Lord Carloway’s 12-month ban on player registration at the Court of Session last month when Lord Glennie referred the matter back to the SFA Appellate Panel, as the full ramification of the decision became clear to Green, who then had an irrevocable contract to buy Rangers or its assets, he floated the idea that he might appeal.

The SFA, correctly, decided not to instruct the Appellate Panel until the 21 day period when an appeal can be raised, which elapses today, has passed, just in case Green tells Lord Glennie he’s got it all wrong.

All this has been terribly confusing, not to mention expensive, for Scottish football, but with yesterday’s news that Rangers have a prima facie case to answer for subverting Scottish football for over a decade, the obstacles before Green are clearly insurmountable.  There is reason to believe we can quickly reach some clarity.

The SFA must, without delay, convene the Appellate Panel to consider Lord Glennie’s instructions and apply an appropriate penalty on the various legal and ethereal bodies which claim to be ‘Rangers’.  If the Appellate Panel suspend or expel what is left of the football club from the SFA, as must surely be expected, all questions about fan pressure, morals and votes become moot.

In this case, history will record the folly of Green’s appeal to civil law as the act which finally killed off any chance of ‘Rangers’ surviving, conveniently letting the SPL off the hook, while Green would be obliged to dispose of the stadium for a modest return to those capable of forming a genuinely new football club at some point in the future.

I left Scotland a long time ago, before I left I almost lost an eye to a hun; I have a scar down one side of my face form an open razor from a hun; I got stabbed in the back of my head by a hun and none of my mates could get the blade out.

There are not too many police cells in Glasgow that I haven’t spent a night at least in because I fought the hun, and there is me a pacifist too.

And when all that is said and done you point to one other subscriber on this blog, more than me, who wanted the hun to continue in their old form. (albeit all dues paid) which is not going to happen now. I never wanted the huns dead.

I don’t hate the hun, I hate the way they are encouraged. I hate those people who make money from the hate factory. I hate people who live for hate. Look to your media.

And another thing, if you can recall, who dares to love his country of birth on this site more than me. My country being Scotland. I am as Scottish as any hun and no hun’s is going to deprive me of my nationality.

I see Sir Myth of Stripped Titles is Tarbolton from the scene and getting it in that they offered the money before Chas bought the assets up,aye ok Walt, why didn’t you,Jim McColl n the Empty Vessels have a bid in earlier?

Haha this is great, how must the huns now feel after very publicly saying they won’t back Green?

    Shoe-miliating!

  3. philvisreturns on

Further to Ernie Lynch’s suggestion, Mr Green may well have just been found out by McColl and co.

The latter are genuinely rich and successful businessmen, not loudmouthed spivs trying to get rich quick by “flipping” a football club. (thumbsup)

celtic stream: im not interested in them, im interested in how we will be run without them as our main opponent..

My point is that they were only our main opponent because of their state theft. They have created a false rivalry and an illusion of competition. If you need that to continue, you need to find a way to give them an extra £20 million a season. Although it doesn’t have to be zombie Rangers we give it too. Aberdeen could be our pretend rivals if you give them the £20 million.

Walter walked away when he saw the evidence that Moses McNeil had an EBT.

  6. the most interesting line in Myth’s statement is ‘the new rangers football club’

the natives on FF not happy about that, affects their denial process

So Watty does walking (running?) away wearing a big wide brimmed hat glasses false nose and fake moustache shouting “hurry up Campbell they know where you live!”

expect him to pony up at Airdrie sooner rather than later…..

  8. Dear Mr Green,

can you please get your ‘business’ under control.

All this laughter is killing my ribs, I don’t know how much more I can take.

  9. So let us get this right…..Sir Walter and his band of uber supporters care so much about saving New Rangers they are now walking away hoping Green fails so they can pick up the carcass for next to nothing?

    Stylish.

The late Mr Smith does have many connections within the Scottish game – he may well have got wind that the majority of SPL chairmen have decided that Sevco will have to tread the traditional path for all new member clubs in Scotland and apply to join the Third Division.

Then again maybe the EBT question is concerning him…

i like that :) creating a false rivalry thing.. ill need to remember that..

Walter is more concerned about the fit and proper person test, mind you it hasn’t stopped a tax cheat being President of the SFA…

did Rangers ever pay the SFA the compensation for Walter deserting his country ?

Green is a ruthless character and he will have no qualms about selling Ibrox to the highest bidder – that does not have to be a football club.

He has no loyalty to any football club in Glasgow and may decide to sell the site to a property developer.

    Three points:

    1. The fans aren’t being punished, the club is.

    2. The fans benefitted from the cheating, by seeing players that the club could not afford and by celebrating the victories that ensued.

    3. The fans have chosen to become emotionally invested in something over which they have no (or very little) control. No one forced them to do this. They are therefore small ships, emotionally bobbing on the waves of the great ocean Rangers. You could equally well ask why should the fans benefit (emotionally) when Rangers win a match, as it is not the fans that participate in the match.

  17. What if Green & Co fail to get into the SPL, but succesfully start in Div 3 and rather than allow Dunfermline straight in the SPL invite applications. Up steps Walter Smith FC and they successfully obtan the free SPL share.

They groundshare Ibrox with Green & Co and essentially have a feeder club in the Div 3. They’re completely seperate comapnies so in theory they could even play in the same league. Provided the groundshare.

3 years from now two Rangers teams in the SPL.

I’m away for a lie down.

Could be the smart move, Mr Green has form,

We had a CVA that wasn’t exactly a CVA as such, from Mr Greens’ Ethereal Composium

Now they have made an Application to join the SPL, but what was in their submission???

SPL Spokesman “Consideration of the application will depend on receipt by the SPL Board of all required documentation and verification.”

Only thing that’s missing from the Application as it stands is all the Documentation & Verification

Are we going through the motions again? I wonder.

  21. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

The walk was cancelled due to cardihuns mates pulling out. Green is backed by Ticketus ultimately. He is operating for them. They will not sell unless they recoup thier outlay and then sum. I reckon 50m will do it. If they dont get it then they will sell the assets. Rangers FC copyright will still make money for some years difficult to qauntify and explains why they are still suing Bristow and Collier while so heavily conflicted by Grier.Withe or Whyte or even B&C have taken an unagreed cut from Ticketus.

Now that the Myth has more or less admitted to EBT abuse will he admit to being one of the main players who killed the club with his outrageous spend after Kaunas?

To answer your question fairly please answer the following for the sake of transparency.

    What is a Rangers fan?

So Walter walks away from a deal after recieving a knock back fae Chunk Sevco 5088 Ltd when they tried to buy the club the assets of the New Company.

    OK.

    MWD

PS. How long b4 Sally McMoist (Childish play with words just to upset Kingoh :-) doesn’t do walking away walks away.

  26. I note the statement from the CSA suggesting ‘selective boycott’ any club who votes for Newco. Can anyone seriously watch Celtic playing in a competition which is not only corrupt but openly corrupt in front of our very eyes?

I’m sorry but the day my club chooses to take part in that sort of competition is the day my club dies. And if the football authorities out with this country allow it then I will never watch football again in my life.
