The day has arrived, 31 August, on a Champions League season, but news has been slow (in general) or there has been no news (at Celtic) so far. Pity help those who were not busy this morning and have burned through a packed of antacids. Deadline day reveals human nature in all its glory.
Last night Ipswich Town agreed a deal to take Daryl Murphy, whom they had on loan last season and the final six months of the previous season. Daryl would have been keen to bring his Celtic uncertainty to an end (he is out of contract when this loan period at Ipswich expires) as he has clearly enjoyed more success in the English Championship.
We didn’t see the best of Daryl but it’s good news Celtic were prepared to release him. He would surely have been retained if there was not a good chance of recruiting a replacement. No promises, of course!
Stay tuned throughout the day. If we have another ‘Robbie Keane Day’ when the CQN server takes a battering I’ll update the Facebook page and Twitter.

Has anyone been brought to book for the signing’s of, Mo Bangura and Daryl Murphy ?
Does Timdom’s fate lie in the hands of the accused yet again ?
Talking of Estadio’s medication requirements, is his long-yearned-for return to Sharkey’s tomorrow being shown live on any TV channel?
And if not, why not?

How many Celtic fans have already been unfairly treated with the new legislation ?
An opportunity A GIFT HORSE that involves the SFA the police and the SNP government and THE RANGERS yet you would still avoid it ????
Honestly I will make no further comment on this as it will only upset you.

A big hulking centre back sounds good to me. A striker is required too.
And don’t we need another keeper too? With Cervi gone we have only Forster and Zaluska.

Marvin Ogunjimi from Mallorca has arrived at Glasgow airport. Must be for us.

Celtic set to land Belgian Striker…
story earlier on was Mallorca’s Marvin Ogunjimi, on loan at Standard Liege last season, is it him?
Just spoke to Michael Owen at Glasgow airport. He is adamant that Celtic are signing a taxi driver today.
From talksport:
Real Mallorca striker Marvin Ogunjimi has arrived in Glasgow ahead of a proposed move to Celtic.
The Belgian international has been on loan back in his homeland with Standard Liege but has jumped at the chance to join the Scottish giants and play in this season’s Champions League.
It’s expected that Ogunjimi will join Celtic on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent €2million deal.
Makes sense – I like these “try before you buy” deals where we get a guy on loan with a fee agreed in advance if he does well. Ensures more Fraser Forsters and less Mo Banguras!
Kevinjohn: Good post ,you put into words my thoughts on those matters, thanks.

Now,probably.
Blame his addiction to fame and wealth.
Takes it everywhere, and hands it out accordingly.
That’s power for you,eh?
Prostitute yourself to get there, and allow someone else to prostitute themselves once you’ve,erm, made it.
Could YOU live wi yourself,bud?
I doubt it.
Nor me.
They’re welcome to it………
Ambrose, Barbosa & now Ogunjimi, getting interesting now
Marvin Ogunjimi
– I have wondered for a while why we haven’t tried to get him. he is just about the only player in a good belgium team, not snapped up already by one of the top european leagues or clubs. Fingers crossed we get him – lots of good value to be had from the Belgian league. he has scored something like 5 goals for belgium in 7 games i think.
Morning lads
Quick question (and probably a silly one) …
Was planning a trip home for a game in November (probably ICT on the 24th)
but I was thinking, if I could get a pair of tickets for the Barca home game, would be great …. realistically, what are the chances? I’m assuming that they go to season ticket holders first (which is fair enough) …
If anyone knows, would appreciate the advice.
Thanks.
PS…. Neil, how about a signing, please.
Cue Undertones Jimi, Jimi being payed soon

We don’t do ‘marquee’ signings, we don’t even do ‘blue chip’ signings anymore. Buy them cheap, develop them, sell them at a profit is the transfer model we now follow. Rightly so.

Looks like Templeton has killed his career by joining a 4th tier Scottish club
Has anybody on here ever seen this guy Ogunjimi play or know anything about him ?
Ambrose was a Member of the Nigeria national under-20 football team at 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.[4] He later represented Nigeria U-23 and the Green Brigade and played two games at the 2008 Summer Olympics.[5]

Udinese / player development etc .
Having spent years bigging up Udinese’s business model , the Italian media really turned on Udinese when they were eliminated by Braga.
General flavor of the onslaught was that there was no ” football benefit ” to be had from constantly scouting / buying and selling on a team Yes – the owner is making money / he has bought a club in Spain and a club in England but Udinese still attract crowds of less than 15k and can’t beat the likes of Braga
Guidolin , The Manager was grey and ashen during the post match stuff. He looked to be in danger of crying as he stated that he wasn’t sure if he was up to the task .
Meanwhile the owner has stated that this year’s target is [ as always ] Serie A survival

The Belgian league is a much higher standard than the spl.
I watch a fair bit on the betting sites, and they have some quality players there.
I have no doubt they will top the group they are in, with scotland nowhere to be seen.

I got up early this morning and even took my iPad into the bathroom to check for signings.
