Finding sharpness, from the same players, with the same message

No one would have enjoyed hearing the score come through from Alicante last night as Spain crushed World Cup finalists Croatia 6-0.  By any normal measure, there should never be six goals between these sides, but team dynamics are more than just players and tactics.  Croatia exhausted every ounce of emotional energy at the World Cup.

Every clichéd action must have taken place as they overcame yet another opponent on the way to the final in Moscow.  After the dam burst against France, how do you recapture that belief that you are invincible?

There are parallels with Celtic last season.  With an invincible treble bagged, Celtic broke their own Scottish record for an undefeated run of games, but soon thereafter capitulated at Tynecastle.  Defeats from Kilmarnock, Hibs and Aberdeen followed.  The players could still raise their game, specifically to find fresh ways to humiliate Newco, but whatever it took to allowed them to reach remarkable levels every single game was gone.

Just as Celtic recorded another treble, Croatia will recover; the defeat to Spain was an aberration, but the formula for pushing players to the limit every game is elusive.  Celtic will comfortably win 8-in-a-row, but a challenge for the next phase of Brendan Rodgers reign will be to repeatedly find the same sharpness, from the same players, with the same message.  That will take more than “Here we go again!”

    My friends in Celtic,

     

     

    Haven’t heard a negative review of Celtic, the musical @ the pavilion.

     

     

    It seems everybody going has had a great time. It also reaches out to a branch of the Celtic family who don’t necessary go to games.

     

     

    Only a handful of clubs in these Islands could pull off such a show for such a length of time.

     

     

    Celtic a club of culture.

     

     

    HH to all, and especially to out theatre culture vultures.

    Does that fit her timeline?

     

    My dad God rest him, was a singer of hymns, your mum played. Magical times.

    I can only speculate why people support who they do. It’s only football after all. Rovers, City, United ….all have their special memories for the wee boy or girl who watched their heroes…. Me? I just love music, Elvis and …well you can guess the rest…

    It is “only a matter of time” before someone is killed by a pyrotechnic at a Scottish football match, one of the country’s leading policemen has warned.

     

     

    Still nobody lifted for 2 attempted murders against visitors attending a game at Ipox, why have these ‘Scottish football fans….’ not been found? Maybe if the police used the huns for video practice like we let them, these animals would have been arrested….

    Lovely to hear that my mum is remembered fondly .

     

     

    She certainly played at that time in the old Church which was the upper level of the school , and when the new Church was opened . 1960 ? .

     

    I remember her mentioning how she had played at the wedding of Pat Quinn , Motherwell footballer .

     

    She also taught at St. Paul`s until the late `60s.

     

     

    There was another lady organist in the `70s. A lady called Bacon. ( Alice ? )

    Tell me, why are Co-operative Bank heading for the hills in recent years despite our club reporting increased profits and record turnover?

    At one time, we had a £20M loan facility together with a £12M overdraft availability. Now, our loan is maxed at £6M (due back in 2019) and we’re invited to use a £6M rolling credit facility at credit card interest rates.

    Could it be that banks are less confident in Scottish football clubs borrowing money ,when instead of paying it back ,all they have to do it liquidate and carry on the follow ,following week leaving the bank to pick up the tab .

     

     

    The SFA MSM and the rest of the chumps involved in the well being of our game could be who you might ask about the above

     

     

    After all it,s them who persist in keeping the BIG LIE up

    Waiting on gasman today so work later, guy was out last night and cut a radiator pipe and didn’t have the right parts in van to repair ffs no hot water or heating.

     

     

     

    I probably should complain but life is too short, I just hope they can repair it today or I will be complaining.

     

     

    Any of you guys used to work with Scottish Gas, is this a normal occurrence??

    The Co- op bank nearly collapsed. They have shed circa 800 jobs and slashed jobs in the last few years.

     

    It’s former ” parent” the Co-op group has now less than a 1% share.

     

    The bank has a recapitalisation plan to survive and move forward.

     

     

    Celtic are just another client who have been impacted by the banks struggles.

    We as a club have been asking for other clubs to join us and take on the SFA/SPFL for transparency and leadership and integrity , well….Steve Clarcke , now being charged for highlighting a referees incompetence should Galvanise the rest of the SPFL managers into action , he’s not the only manager to claim their team has been dealt with differently from CELTIC and RANGERS .#

     

     

    IF , these managers could hold a meeting all together and call out the SFA / SPFL for their BIAS or INCOMPETENCE then that could be a catalyst for maybe fans of the….. clubs to get together and do something en-masse ………pissin against the wind me-thinks

     

     

    Anyhoo… LIONSROAR , WEETS , EUROCHAMPS hope the down sides are lessening as the days weeks go by , SAINT STIVS Best wishes and a speedy recovery .
