FIXTURE CHANGES: CELTIC’S DOUBLE DATE WITH DESTINY

1

CELTIC face a double date with destiny against Aberdeen when they come face to face with Derek McInnes’ side twice in 10 days at Parkhead in 2021.

The SPFL have announced their latest fixtures reshuffle and the Hoops will meet the Dons in Glasgow on Wednesday, February 17 with a 7pm kick-off.

The original Premiership date was scheduled for August 15 – which would have been the champions’ third league outing of the campaign – but it was cancelled in the fall-out of Boli Bolingoli’s secret trip to Spain and subsequent breaking of government coronavirus quarantine guidelines when he returned. The Dons, too, has breached protocol after a number of their players met in a city centre pub after a game.

Neil Lennon’s men were already due to clash with the north-east outfit on February 27 which means they will have back-to-back league battles with the Dons in their quest for a historic tenth successive title.

The champions dropped two points in a 3-3 stalemate at Pittodrie in October when Lewis Ferguson equalised in stoppage-time with the second of his two penalty-kicks that afternoon.

Celtic will also play St Mirren in the east end of Glasgow on Wednesday, March 3 with a 7.45pm kick-off after another rejig of their Premiership programme.
