A quick check of the fixture list reveals that St Mirren are the first scheduled visitors to Celtic Park after 10 August, the date Clinical Director, Jason Leitch, said he hopes to allow capacity crowds into football stadiums. St Mirren were the last visitors to play in front of supporters at Celtic Park, on 7 March 2020, which will be satisfying, for those who like their fixtures with a bit of symmetry.
Olivier Ntcham’s hopes to earn a rewarding contract appear to hinge on Celtic providing the player with a free transfer, one year before the end of his current agreement. Deals like this were once regarded as rewards for players who gave the bulk of their career to a club. Subsidising Olivier’s potential wages from AEK would be an extraordinarily generous move by Celtic.
The player really needs some football next season, if not, he will be 26 when his contract expires, having played very little football for two years. I would rather pay him to remain the squad (with strict instructions to stay out of the Celtic penalty box) than lose him for free.
It’s great to see reports of talented young players on their way to Celtic, but we all know the script when it comes to transfers. Confirmative press stories mean nothing, just ask Celtic boss, Eddie Howe. If a player is on Celtic’s radar, he will be on a few others.
Speaking of Howe, his phone will have gone a bit quiet since four weeks ago. He rejected Celtic within a day of Real Madrid sounding out their new boss, Carlo Ancelotti, then manager of his boyhood club, Everton. Everton and Crystal Palace are both trying hard to appoint a manager who is not Howe, although he remains on both clubs’ lists. Southampton and Newcastle retained their managers, against earlier expectations.
Shay Logan, weeks after posting the message, “You can’t polish a turd” below a photo of Scott Brown in an Aberdeen shirt, was arrested and charged with an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act. He remains as classy as ever.

Are Spain doing a Hibs here😱
So,
if I may, what are the objectives for the newbies, what is it we expect them to do ?
waht does success look like ?
For McKay ?
Be better than PL ? at what, by what measurement, turnover ? profits ? honours ? recruitment ? call out the celtic haters ?
For Ange ?
Be better that NFL ? at what, by what measurement ? the title back ? a treble ? european involvement ? player improvement ? transfer success ? beat the second rangers ?
what does success look like ?
4-3 Spain
Some strike !!!
next,
what is success from the board ?
what do they have to do to be a success in celtic fans eyes , they overseen trebles, 9 in a row, record transfer fees in and out,
is it just structural change we want ?
if yes, what does that look like ? fan ownership model ? a hostile take over ? younget, fitter, diverse board members ? an agreed period of office > max 7 years ?

every season for me, that is the primary objective, everything should be done to acheive that, however some will want it won in a certain style, playing a certain way, goals and performances.
we blew the last one with one disaster after another.

There’s your answer
The problems of last season were only in part due to the wantalways. All teams have wantaway players. Biggest problems last season was lennon callong out players, then continually playing players who were not motivated to perform. A complete lack of width, carrying a player who had lost his pace and presence and overall a general lack of organisation from back to front. I dont know if ange will do well or poorly as manager but I cant see him playing players who are taking the cunt. The very least you should expect from any player is 100% effort

Forget the infection rate, the crucial factor is hospital admissions and deaths.
Thankfully they are very low and proof that the successful vaccination programme is indeed working.
That being the case there is no reason not relinquish control and open up society.
I will hold Jason Leitch to his word that we can expect full football attendance from early August.
Of course, those of us who still want to self isolate, then they should be free to do so.

Should have been 5-4

and
recruitment, letting go a good goalkeeper, letting go sinclair, letting go lustig, the loans that played worse than what we already had,
as a wee aside,
Daily Record circulation year 2000 was 626,000
year 2020 it was 88,000
that is spectacular decline, revenues from internet not replacing copy sales.
to be world class our hoops will need to jump through hoops.

SS,
Any idea of the circulation of other Scottish papers, especially the Herald?
Hi Bhoys
Just a wee throw away thought of mine. The huns need cash season tickets not selling well due to not being allowed into the grounds. Wee hun lover Jason ” leave it to me”. All grounds will be open to fans next season. Season tickets start selling huns get ssome cash.
Maybe my paranoia
oops

Only if you choose to ignore the risk from mutation.

Brilliant to see Murray on Centre Court, this might be his last hurrah,he probably thought it would never happen again after his surgery, the Greatest Scottish Sportsman of All Time IMO
Ernie,
The ” science” people are confident the vaccinations are effective against all known mutations.
They are also confident that future vaccinations can be ” easily” modified to accommodate future hypothetical variations.
Locking down society indefinitely is subsequently not an option.
However as previously stated:- Those of us who want to remain in self isolation should be free to do so.
From a football perspective, many clubs cannot continue with controlling measures still in place.
