Focus shifts to Pittodrie

Tonight Aberdeen play the second of a run of three consecutive away games. After overcoming St Johnstone 3-4 in Perth a week ago they are on the road to face Inverness. The Highlanders have not lost in a month, and haven’t lost at home since the visit of Celtic in November, so John Hughes men will provide a stern test for Aberdeen.

Aberdeen are back on the road to Firhill on Friday night. Their season has been free of fixture congestion. This is a rare week with two games, and an even rarer one with two away games. It could be a pivotal period in the campaign.

Celtic won comfortably in the end against Ross County but confidence seemed at a low ebb until Leigh Griffiths opened the scoring. Sentiment may have swung in our favour before we take to the field at home to Inverness on Saturday.

BSR :What time the first post that Ajer is obviously Bittons replacement?

My guess would be 5:32 0:-))

My 5:33 post is a Google translation.

  2. A light insanity.

The pressing began when the pressure was released by the goal(s)

I thought too many of our players were staying away from involvement, to avoid the possibility of incurring the wrath of our support if they mistimed a tackle , misplaced a pass, lost possession etc.

Many have already pointed out that our away support get behind the team and stay behind the team.

So in conclusion I would suggest that the lack of pressing is not down to fitness levels but down to mental strength, fear , anxiety etc.

We are partly to blame, we can be part of the solution.

I was not making a criticism of Ronny and the board. That was not my intention. The comment about the board choosing the players was intended to be tongue in cheek.

I hope Ronny stays and that the boy Ajer turns out to be the holding midfielder we need.

I hadn`t taken your post as a criticism of Ronny and The Board ( Playing at The Empire on Saturday !).

My post was just a general comment,HH

Agree with your assessment. The mental strength of our players is a worry. Jersey shrunk a little?

CKH’ s shorts certainly haven’t shrunk a little. Haven’t seen a pair of shorts since jimmy McGrory retired.:)

  9. Great news about Ajer. I don’t know much about him but the reports are good. I like that he’s a giant and captained his team at the age of 16. We need more height and leadership qualities in the team.

He probably won’t be bossing the SPL for a year or two, but when he does we’ll probably have a player we couldn’t afford.

  10. Why doesn’t the club have an injury list on the club website and social media, fans want to know these details and helps us understand why someone is not in the squad. Does it really make any difference if the opposition know who’s fit and who isn’t . Long overdue !

I remember reading articles about the guy jim mcguinness – How he was coming over to instill a winning mentality and increase fitness levels. The jist was he was a bit of a guru and disciplinarian . Might take a year but we would see a big difference in the team .

I’m pretty sure Neil lennon was our manager at the time

So what happened … did ronny bump him or has he just been a failure

  16. Another midfielder .

    BSR…..Any measurements yet ?

    Hope he’s not a midget.

    Meanwhile.

If Rogic has signed a new contract I’m pleased

He’s shown character by overcoming a bad start to his Celtic career. Midfield goalscorers are not easy to find. If his fitness improves to last the full 90minutes then we have a good squad member. It’s all about the squad not a first eleven.

The other bonus is he’s not a midget.

Ronny is not only trying to build our first team for the present but he is building for the future as well. Now im an auld guy and of course the the first team is the most important for me as the long term might be to long for me.You younger supporters need to get behind Ronny and the bhoys booing them will not help with there confidence Ronny knows where he wants to take the club and I for one believe he knows how to do it.The MSM are trying to get Ronny out but we the Celtic support dont need to help them. The first team need some psychological help, no doubt. And I’m being 100% serious.

Really noticeable how some of them disappear during a match just now.

Did you see the reaction of the players trying to boost Armstrong after he crossed the ball for Boyata ?

  27. MACJAY1 FOR NEIL LENNON…

Accused of racism by the holier than thou mob.

It might be an idea to finish that sentence. Accused of racism… because he wrote something racist.

Now, you may judge the calling out of racism to be ‘holier than thou’, but I disagree.

( Shades of another blogger last week )

Let’s be clear here – I’ve witnessed a *lot* of bullying behaviour on here, the vast majority of it aimed at the ‘mineshafters’. Where ‘mineshafter’ is pretty much interchangeable with ‘anti-board’ and ‘left wing’.

That doesn’t mean that any bullying is acceptable, however, there’s a huge difference between being called out and being bullied.

But, his real sin was that he was an avowed capitalist.

Kojo was a long term contributor to the blog. If capitalism had been his ‘real sin’, I doubt he’d have been on here as long. Discussions over viewpoints is absolutely fine. Something reflected in the high contrast of views currently on the blog. For the most part we all recognise that (football wise at the least) we’re on the side.

To characterise one side on here as being bullying is utterly inaccurate and unfair.

    And admitted it .

Hence the discussions. Sadly, he also refused to back down on racist hate speech.

Unlike the plethora of C.Q.N.”socialists ” who are in practice capitalists ,but don`t or won`t admit it.

Wow. The ad hominems just keep coming. Bullies and hypocrites. Any more? Cowards? Thieves? May as well push the boat out…

He was at least in his eighties , possibly nineties.

I doubt that very much. Kojo had a number of pseudonyms on here. Some quite amusing, some less so. But he was always a valued member of the community. And there’s nothing to suggest his age one way or another.

    A shameful episode.

You’re right. It was. But not for the myth you’re peddling above.

Kojo refused to take ownership of his use of hate speech. He was called out on it. Rightly in my opinion. We wouldn’t allow ‘taig’ or ‘tarrier’ on here, so why would racist epithets be any more acceptable, regardless of the character of the person posting?

Most memorable about that incident was the way that all sides of the CQN ‘family’ were pretty much united in their condemnation. Kojo *could* have taken cognisance of that. Instead he chose to opt for a Jeremy Clarkson style approach.

I have no idea if that ‘chased’ him from the blog. But it wasn’t bullying. Nor was it shameful. Kojo could have easily backed down and shown some humility. Like a lot of folk, I found a lot of his views tiresome, but that didn’t make them any less valuable than my own views, and I, like many others welcomed some opposing opinion (although, his opinion was more in the majority than mine, for example).

If you really want to look at bullying – look at the abuse dished out regularly to Neganon2. You want shameful? I’d look in that direction first – I have no idea how he keeps posting in the light of the abuse he takes. I’m glad he does though, because again, his views are refreshing and honest.

    I`ll catch the outrage mañana.

More disappointment than outrage. I’ve seen it all on here now, the Jim Davidson defence of clear racism, aka “Stop being so sensitive!”.

I’m maybe more cynical than you but I thought the youngsters were targeted from the beginning because it was felt that they would be more receptive than the older heads in the first team who wouldn’t be receptive to a non football guy coming in and trying to change what they were doing.
