I’ve been sent a brain teaser. What legal reasons would someone have to discretely pay another individual £500k? The people are not currently in business together, although the recipient previously worked for the sender. No goods have been provided.
It’s a puzzle.
Looking for legal reasons only, no crazy illegal notions or wild speculation about real persons, this is purely a theoretical exercise.
Apparently I’m being sent a moral dilemma tomorrow: Will the recipient, with off-shore accounts but living in interesting times, declare the £500k?

paul76 – see this uttering stuff you are talking about. my big mate beano nearly got done with that. his maw got him a wallet for his christmas one of they fancy ones with 60 pursent real leather. smelt magic. the big diddy went and tried to buy his carry out for hogmanay with the credit card that was in it. the donut thought his maw had got him a credit card too but they stick fake ones in for some reason. maybe to make you look like the reel deel when you have a fancy walet. the shop rang the polis and they lifted him for it. with his phone call he rang his maw and told her they were trying to charge him with uttering. she said nae wonder son i can barely understand you too you been on the sauce. the polis wet themsleves laughing when he told them what had happened and the inspector let him off with a warning as he said he was just a diddy. the polis was right. he is a total bam. i still dont know to this day why the polis found it so funny. he talks funny as the young team from the next scheme caught him when he was 15 and mangled his chops. he hasnt spoke right since then.

People don’t need to have a reason to give each other money. Recent examples of such generosity include mandaric to redknap and cqn to save the rangers(in administration) fund.
