Football authorities and turning a blind eye

415

Scottish Football League, rule 23. Members’ Financial Records, “All Members and Associate Members shall keep detailed financial records of their activities and the board may arrange an inspection of all such records”.

In the absence of audited accounts for a new club, the board of the SFL are in a unique position to examine the financial records of The Rangers to ensure its leadership is not running amok with the Scottish game, in the same way previous incumbents of Ibrox did.

Or, a few months after Craig Whyte crashed a football club after telling everyone he had enough money to complete the season, will the football authorities look the other way?  Again?

The MSM know all the questions that should and won’t be asked.

The internet bampots can only do so much, they still have the megaphones.

Guys like Paul, Phil, RTC and a few others have been asking questions for years, untill the MSM switch on their megaphones, all we get is the sound of silence.

  2. Agree with thomthethim, Awe Naws piece would grace the TSFM blog, and provide plenty of discussion.

  3. Like many on the blog I’ve been trying to share as much news about Oscar via Facebook etc today’s news was a hard one and to be honest I thought long and hard about whether to re post it or not, on the other hand many many people across the country and further await updates on the wee Mhan, it was duly posted, one of the first comments back came from a guy in Fife, an avid Arab he describes himself as, someone I’ve never met, most likely never will, but like many others he has taken to Oscar, in his post he called the wee Mhan a “warrior”

You know what given what that wee guy has endured, and continues to endure with great courage I’m of the opinion my Fifer mate may just have called it spot on.

That’s a very good point actually

If Mr Green reckons Rangers will be worth £100m and making massive profits in 3 years time then why is he selling around half of it for £20m.

That would be like giving £30m pounds away, or the equivalent of £10m per year.

Makes you think he is making things up, not a very good businessman, or both.

For all TSFM site is a very good site, they are fundamentally flawed.

Scottish football covers many things, and referees are an integral part of the game….

Yet they refuse to discuss them.

That I find a total cop out.

I am not talking about individual refereeing decisions, but they refuse to discuss anything about them.

I have had many posts that never got past moderation, why I ask myself, who is running the site that they are in fear of discussing referees, referees after all control the game.

    Something just disny sit right.

Might be worth posting on AT’s blog?

Completely understand where you are coming from – the inaction of, and silence from, the relevant ‘authorities’ is scandalous!

They have bent over backwards and re-written the rule book in order to facilitate the existence of an entity which should have been buried and consigned to the dustbin of history!

Aye – keep an eye on Cowdenbeath: anything can happen when that old bigot mutton chops is involved!

  10. Me too, Phil. Just thought Paul could lift it as a stand alone article, give it some profile and not have it ‘lost’ in the rest of the blog. Just my two cents and not for arguing.

how much does a full page ad in the DR cost?

I’d be happy to chip in a tenner to get Awe Naw’s list of questions placed as a full page add. If it is £5,000 then we only need 500 £10’s to get going.

  12. Awe Naw an excellent collation of investigative questions – an onerous task. H!H!

Notice some of the Ghuys suggesting you copy-in TSFM – can I make an additional suggestion?

Might be worthwhile copying in Paul McConville (Scots Law Blog) – he’s very good at cross-referencing breaches of law/ rules to:

    SFA/ SPL Articles of Association;

    Commercial & Tax Law;

    Criminal Law.

  17. TET,

I think that TSFM are correct in keeping the focus on the Rangers case.

That is the relevant one, for now.

Once the decisions that are awaited are announced, then it will be time to consider the wider issues.

The risk of widening the scope, at this time, is that the blog gets sidetracked.

It is a fledgling site, which needs nurturing, unlike RTC, which was a single issue blog, which expanded with maturity.

It is vital at this stage, that a broad base of all clubs, focus on the wrongs committed and park the refs and some other issues for another day.

The SPL are the ones in the firing line at the moment.

Post EBT/Dual Contract decisions, will be the time to focus on the SFA and all it’s works and pomps.

    KTF.

    P.S.

For what it’s woth, the site owner is a CEltic man, but wants the blog to be for all Scottish football fans.

    He still has my vote.

Winning the tax case would only matter in that they would see it as being not guilty in the dual contracts investigation. The media would spin it as they have up until now – that they are essentially the same thing.

Or maybe they are so stupid that they think they would get £94m “back” from the taxman!
