They come and go, some kiss the badge, they all talk about how great the fans are. Of all those who played with Celtic in recent years, it was Christopher Jullien, in a private moment, who asked, “Why would anyone want to leave Celtic?” At the age of 26, he found his paradise.
We rated him not for what he said in private, but for his performances on the field. He was the most dominant central defender Celtic had since Virgil van Dijk departed four years earlier. It was his head, chest, leg, on the ball, when we were under pressure. He could then pass the ball out of defence with both feet.
Of all the glories during our second nine-in-a-row years and the Quadruple Treble, the 2019 League Cup Final holds a special place. Celtic were on the rack throughout; with an inspired keeper, Christopher holding the defensive line and scoring the winning goal, the win felt so much sweeter.
His 89th minute winner against Lazio was a perfect example of his aerial dominance. Celtic were a shambles a year later, when he collided with a post at an empty Celtic Park, but they were not yet out of touch. Had he remained fit, who knows? As it was, the shambles continued.
Chirstopher’s exclusion from action on return from injury was down to team tactics. Ange wants his central defenders wide, leaving them plenty of ground to cover, in the event of a breakaway attack. This is not Chris’ forte, it wouldn’t work.
Best of luck, Chris, don’t be a stranger.
Ignore it all you like, but the most important game of the season in Scottish football takes place tonight. It will determine the competitive balance, perhaps beyond even this season. Football in Glasgow is a zero-sum game.

Why the long face CSC
When the Huns lost 2-0 in the first leg of the last round , I posted on here that they would qualify for the CL groups.
I was slaughtered on here by some other posters .
I doesn’t benefit you to underestimate your competitors.
I was called negative, when I was simply being unbiased .
It will be the same when Sevco visit us on 3/9/22.
They have dominated the last 2 derbies.
We have our work cut out to beat them .
Tonight was a financial game changer .
Yet we will still have posters come on here and say that they are a financial basket case .
TT
Psv passed up so many chances.
You can’t to that at any level and win.
Then they go and gift them a goal.
I can’t imagine how sick the PSV fans must feel after that.
Utterly hopeless in the second half and giving away a goal your average pub team could have avoided.
Half of the SPL would have won that game.

“They have dominated the last 2 derbies.”
No they haven’t
Looking at the posts, it would seem that too many are refusing to accept that Sevco are not as bad as those posters would like them to be.
We are a good , exciting side and Sevco are a good, solid side. We MIGHT be slight favourites to win the League but it is likely to be a close run thing.
Any of the other teams in that round would have given the huns a tougher game than that . On this performance PSV must have been the weakest , at least in terms of desire to win . I wonder if they’ll carry that luck into the draw tomorrow .
Well that’s their gambling all paid off.
Celtic could have killed them off, chose not to, the board and all its last members will have to live with that for generations to come.
Shame.
Burnley
The Maximir stadium was quite badly damaged by the earthquake which hit Croatia last year. Some villages were totally destroyed in that area.
I don’t know if that explains why 3 stands are empty or if there is also a UEFA ban.
To say I am disappointed with their victory is putting it mildly but I am sure I will soon get over it and accept that the SPFL is now a proper challenge.
Goodnight all.
PS For anyone who needs cheering up, our `B` team beat Livi`s `B` team 3-0 :-)
Malone Bhoy
If they were ever to get the chance to kill us off they would grab it .
Sick that’s it wanted them to get beat obviously but did not think I would be as up set by the rotton mob winning .
Imagine if we got just a tenth of their luck
Away to my bed
The huns are definitely back in the game now anyway…..I can’t see celtic having the bottle to . them tbh …..because they will spend ….thank fk I watched Shetland
HOT SMOKED
Agree!
They got to the EL Final last season and were runners up in the league to a great Celtic side.
They have now qualified for the CL Group Stages by beating a highly rated Dutch side, no matter how badly PSV were perceived to play.
Underestimate them at your peril.
And we have the mibs to contend with.
C@MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TInyTim
They are a financial basket case 👍
Malone Bhoy, please a bit of perspective.
Celtic could have issued a few Statements and that’s about it.
How could Celtic just one Club in the SPFL have the power to put the Huns out of Business.
What about the other 10 Clubs could Celtic have overruled the whole lot.
No matter what Celtic did there was going to be a team in blue playing out of Ibrox,
Call them Sevco or R^^gers or anything in between it makes feck all difference,
Celtic on their own didn’t have the power to bury them.
Malone Bhoy
What legislative process could Celtic have invoked which would have stopped a new club being formed and being financially supported by investors or loans?
Please reference the legislation that could have done this.
Thank god for the test match cricket 🏏 tomorrow and going to a Mozart concert in Edinburgh too. So at least my mind will be occupied before the draw.
Just praying we get a break.
My friends in Celtic
Collectively how stupid do we sound on CQN.
Check the posts pre game PSV are different class, they’ll humilate the huns.
Cue a few hours later : PSV ars a pub team. Useless no heart no desire.
Do we realise how stupid that makes us look.
The huns are a good resilient team. They have earned that accolade.
While we continually underestimate them we do our team under Ange a disservice .
They are a good team, but we are better. Our team and manager deserve great credit for bettering this formidable opposition.
HH, our journey continues.
I predict they will make at least 3 signings this week with wee Billy the fish being the first one .
Hrvatski
Thanks for that.
We had 9 years to pull ahead of them , but never done it.
You can guarantee they will spend they’re CL income in the next week.
Will we.
Things have just got more competitive. Let’s just be thankful we’re Champions and two points clear already.

A post that sums up the descent of this one excellent forum.
WE ARE AHEAD OF THEM.
Maybe it escaped your notice, but we’ were already IN the Champions League Groups, as champions.
And sit top of the league right now.
One season – which I blame on Lennon without equivocation – does not change that fact.
HRVATSKI Jim and CORKCELT
Legislation doesn’t come into it. We had free reign to improve and pull away from them so that when they did come up the leagues they had no chance.
We meandered along, doing the bare minimum, waiting for their return.
Sevco or Scottish fitba would still be in quarantine
if Timmy said NO to the £49:00 ticket scam in 2016.
But Timmy became Dimmy and fell for the ticket trap.
Dimmy has had NO integrity since they souled out in 2016.
Every trophy won by CELTIC FC since 2016 has ben *tainted*.
Duplicity FC from Kerrydale Street has to be Exorcised.
Until that Exorcism takes place you are supporting £financially
an ugly deception – and you know you are – you’ve killed
CELTIC`s integrity with your parochial greed that`s your limit.
KEVJUNGLE was right – YOU were all woefully wrong.
What have you done to CELTIC you imposters?
Sevco were officially born tonight.
Dimdom has fathered a Rosemary’s baby that you won’t be able to handle.
Shame on every Dimmy suck up!
It’s an online pub here and yes we do post a lot of shite and some decent stuff from time to time.
Reality is of course that no one outside the Group here gives an absolute hoot what we say.
We don’t kick a ball , if we collectively underestimate the Hun it doesn’t affect results , it’s doing no one any harm, except ourselves,

Celtic aren’t just from 2012 for a reason. “Steady as she goes”.
PSV were flatter than the Durch alps
Dinamo score. 3 2 on aggregate. 4 minutes to go
Wonder if all the psychic cynics on CQN backed the Huns at 5 to 1?
Thought not CSC
.
A howler of a mistake gifted them a goal, the anguish on the faces of PSV fans summed up the night.Well the main thing is tomorrow’s draw, then back to business collecting full points in our quest for another successful domestic season.Come on the BHOYS.
I didn’t see anything tonight that should worry us.Two very average sides.
Check out all the lily livered quisling posters on here feart of a competitive Sevco? Pathetic.
We could of course have spent money while they were down, it wouldn’t have affected our Domestic Trophy Haul much.
It might have improved our European performances but not guaranteed .
What would be different now, would we have more money in the Bank or would we have a better squad then what we have, hard to say,
The ghuys we could have bought 8.9 10 years ago would be gone at this stage anyway.
Dinamo score again on the break.
One poster bemoaning ‘the Rainjurz phenomenon’ once complained about using processed peas instead of fresh in Celtic hospitality.

Backed PSV -5. Should have been offered a cash out by half time. That’s football for you!
