They come and go, some kiss the badge, they all talk about how great the fans are. Of all those who played with Celtic in recent years, it was Christopher Jullien, in a private moment, who asked, “Why would anyone want to leave Celtic?” At the age of 26, he found his paradise.
We rated him not for what he said in private, but for his performances on the field. He was the most dominant central defender Celtic had since Virgil van Dijk departed four years earlier. It was his head, chest, leg, on the ball, when we were under pressure. He could then pass the ball out of defence with both feet.
Of all the glories during our second nine-in-a-row years and the Quadruple Treble, the 2019 League Cup Final holds a special place. Celtic were on the rack throughout; with an inspired keeper, Christopher holding the defensive line and scoring the winning goal, the win felt so much sweeter.
His 89th minute winner against Lazio was a perfect example of his aerial dominance. Celtic were a shambles a year later, when he collided with a post at an empty Celtic Park, but they were not yet out of touch. Had he remained fit, who knows? As it was, the shambles continued.
Chirstopher’s exclusion from action on return from injury was down to team tactics. Ange wants his central defenders wide, leaving them plenty of ground to cover, in the event of a breakaway attack. This is not Chris’ forte, it wouldn’t work.
Best of luck, Chris, don’t be a stranger.
Ignore it all you like, but the most important game of the season in Scottish football takes place tonight. It will determine the competitive balance, perhaps beyond even this season. Football in Glasgow is a zero-sum game.

Huge mistake at back for PSV.
thems look a lot fitter and stronger than the dutch.
Unbelievable
incredible blunder again lets the huns score
WTF.
Huns 1 up
PSV passing has been dreadful for the last 10 minutes You could see that goal coming . Van Nistlerooy must be tearing his hair out .
Huns gifted a goal. Keeper and defenders casual.
That goal sums up PSV. Playing like it’s a training game. Utter 💩
Just what the Dutch deserve!!
PSV lacking urgency and commitment
fugg
2 astonishing blunders in the 2 games puts the huns in a good position now .
Any unusual betting patterns on this game?
Not gifting goals takes a team a helluva way towards a result. PSV have gifted the huns 2 goals in this tie.
Nervy half hour Huns will start to look at the clock
67ECW
Yellow for Lundstrom . Hope he gets another .
Lundstrum with a yellow
that has been coming since the game started , PSV are crap, over hyped
2 huns booked in 2 minutes
I’ve little confidence that PSV have the ability to break down the huns.
Kent with yellow. Wee bit soft but I’ll take it
should have been 2
PSV are dross. Absolute joke. The keeper is a disgrace. Barkas would be better than this shit.
Dutch keeper saves well from break and defence again tries to nullify it
If this is standard of Dutch footie please give us Ajax tomorrow.
starting the fear the worst now .
PSV are absolutely dreadful. Zero tempo. Awkward in the ball. Crap.
Why is the Dutch left back still on the park, he was useless at ibrox and not much better here.
Thought PSV looked decent last week and I was expecting them to be even better at home but they are poor .
Still , there is time .
PSV losing their composure. Huns seeing this out comfortably.
Absolutely no heart or belief in the Dutch mob. Really garbage. Huns were there for the beating.
This mob have got their heads down already.
thems winning every tackle, full of running, PSV void of ideas and looking a spent force.
Press almost non existent from PSV tonight. Baffling set up.
Absolutely no heart or belief in the Dutch mob. Really garbage. Huns were there for the beating.
Dire effort from Max. Really shit
Sitter from PSV. No heart, no conviction. Sangare is an absolute diddy.
