I’ve no fondness for Stuart McColl but I’m disappointed the wheels have fallen off Motherwell’s bogey this season. Delivering two consecutive second place finishes in a league populated with mostly better finances teams was exceptional. Over the last three years they have lost players instead of paying money they couldn’t afford, otherwise they would almost certainly be challenging at the top of the table.
I like Gordon Strachan. One of the things I like about him is he is almost impossible to get on-message. Talk about manipulating football in order to get the ‘right’ teams in the top division is ludicrous, Gordon knows this, or he wouldn’t have used a word like “manipulate”. On a substantive note, I think he’s wrong on this point.
The game changed when Rangers were liquidated, and it changed again when Hearts and Hibs were relegated. Fewer people buy tickets as there is not genuine competition for the league title, but some things we can do without.
Scottish football survived without the ticket money these clubs brought them, and the country’s streets, pubs and A&E departments have benefited from not having to cope with the sheer hassle we used to put up with.
I’ve enjoyed our four lower tier-only games this season, they were atmospheric and entertaining. If this was our future, I’d bite your hand off for it before I’d want to go back to the old ways.
Celtic, Motherwell, Aberdeen and the rest are defined on their own merits, and many of us are enjoying our football.

As an edit to my post….
I was gutted at the draw. I wanted to sheep to destroy them in the semis :)
*I widnae be too confident about that outcome…..this is the same sheep side who’s manager once while in charge at St Johnstone referred to naesurname as “the gaffer”……or when being introduced on SSB by Peter Martin McGuire who on a wind up tae BFDJ referred tae him as having a good deid team name….and just before he could say derek parlane……mcinnes piped in “aye derek kai johannson mcinnes”……he is no different from the just sacked Motherwell manager.
It’s also quite ironic that when all and sundry, including AT, thought that the racism accusation had been put to bed it suddenly surfaces and he becomes one of the principal witnesses for the prosecution…..a complete dob.

All the Spl teams drawn together to give more wee teams to send to Doomdome in the next round, shirley someone has been fondling the balls…
Jimbob71 – I’m sorry about that mate, my fault entirely. I picked you up all wrong.
Bobby M and TCR – Thanks for keeping me right gents.

We’ve got the following top team matches:
St Johnstone v Ross County
St Mirren v Inverness CT
Hearts v Celtic
Dundee v Aberdeen
Motherwell v Dundee Utd
Partick Thistle v Hamilton
and yet you could put yer hoose on the newest team in the country having their tie televised.
What would be the odds on five all premier ship ties. mmmmm

VVD, Forster, Hooper all made debuts for their national squads DESPITE playing in what we term an inferior league. Maybe we judge too harshly?
A wee bit of hysteria beginning to creep into the debate regarding our playing a new team, – extreme violence against Celtic supporters, riots etc. Calm down FFS. Try being a Celtic supporter in North Belfast, even today, and then you can talk about extreme mindless violence being directed at fellow Tims for wearing ‘the colours’. Nothing will happen at the game PC Mcplod will be there in massive numbers, nothing that didn’t happen pre and post game between us and the extinct team in the past will happen, true sadly the A& E departments will be busy again. Bizarrely some of our ‘alleged support’ will be clapping their hands in anticipation of our playing a lower league team with a glorious history of 2 years. I had fervently hoped that the new team would be out of business long before we had the misfortune of be drawn against them.
Also – shame on you Anto, i for one would have thought you’d be more aligned to us Celts who wished never to meet the Hun, in what ever guise they chose, again.

quatar most likely jan/feb or nov/dec for the world cup
I see clown tanner said the last time Celtic played Hearts was in the semi final in 2010
when Craig Beattie scored the winner
What happened last season scottiish cup, same fixture
Hearts 0 v Celtic 7
Tanner would not mention that would he !!!
Are there not two games live in the Scottish Cup?
One on BBC and the other on Sky?
Th stop five teams in the league all drawn away from home, now what would be the odds on that, it’s got to the stage now where the game is so bent you can’t trust anything in it any more, all for the benefit of the biggest cheats in world football…
Tontine tim @1416
The current killie manager has already scalped sleekits mob.
Some people need to get a grip, unless o’dea and the other guy memorised where every ball was it was a fair draw ffs
16 Roads,
No, not a problem mate. I had a few too many and didn’t give a proper reply to you.
Sorry for the confusion.
I shouldn’t post and drink at the same time, no multi tasking for me!!! ;-)
buzzz buzz buzz
buzy buzy bee
Starry,
If the draw was loaded to ensure the huns had an easy ride I’m sure they coulda been paired with a weaker side than killie.

One SC draw away from home in their entire existence?

That’s the stage it’s got to Geordie, the SFA are so unfit for purpose I don’t believe anything that happens over there anymore, why would I???
They used to say we were paranoid and after recent events why the feck wouldn’t I be??
The huns are always at home mate think about that, always, one game away since their misconception, you don’t find that strange, I feckin’ do.
Their poison permeates the whole stinking’ game in Scotland and we will play them and it will be heralded as the return of the Old Firm, make you puke so it would..
I’ve really tried to support my team since the LNS decision but I’ll tell you mate I’m ready for chucking it…

The problem is mate, we used to be paranoid………Our only problem was, we weren’t nearly paranoid enough.
“The huns are always at home mate think about that, always, one game away since their misconception, you don’t find that strange, I feckin’ do.”
That’s cos you believe bsr ‘s rubbish stats mate ;)
Don’t want to fall out with anyone but reaction to draw on here is pure paranoia. There was nothing fixed, the draw was made and that is how it worked out. Kilmarnock is a very tough tie for Sevco, they could have got plenty of easier sides. Hertz away is tough enough but we could have been away to Premiership teams. Its a game that should produce atmosphere the fans and the team will be up for it, what more do you want.

Do you think Darren O’Dea was in on it aswell ? No me neither big O’Dea is a hun skelper and wouldn’t be part of it HH
Thanks for the updates.
Seems that the authorities have determined we’ll be playing Hearts in every cup until we learn to lose to them. Not that they’ll want the Jambos to lose focus on their league games for any reason.
Geordie Munro
How dare you Squire we’re Holy Cross Bhoys, stats are out speciality, tailor made for every occasion by bespoke wide-o’s like BSR…
The paranoia on here is risible. Honestly, does anyone seriously believed if it was a fix they would have been drawn at home to a top flight team?
The level of stupidity on CQN recently is embarrassing and fast approaching untenable.
