For the love of the game. And endurance of Ally McCoist

1247

Close to 100 people agreed to participate in the Scottish FA’s disciplinary panel, as Neil Lennon put it yesterday, “for the love of the game”.  Processes were established and although panel members would meet and be introduced to club officials who were subject to their decisions, they were granted freedom from publicity in order for them to hand out punishments free of intimidation.

This freedom has now gone.

Such was the reaction to Ally McCoist’s public demand to know the names of the panel members who judged the actions of his club the SFA felt it prudent to select panellists who were happy to expose themselves and their places of employment to the outcry the original panellists endured.  IF they uphold of increase the penalties.

On Wednesday evening we should find out whether intimidation of the SFA works.

The biggest scandal of all is that despite the consequences of McCoist’s actions, the SFA have taken no disciplinary action against him.  Rangers officials are free to react to the appeal judgement in the same manner as the original without fear of consequence.

Other managers who are pursued for more prosaic matters might consider the SFA panel have something personal against them.

ah’ve said it before and ah’ll say it again, fat sally is a sleeekit snake

he knew exactly what he was doin be asking for the panels names – quite simply it was to put pressure and fear onto them

remember this is the cowardly mouthpiece who started all the bother at celtic park, entering our technical area twice to spout his bile then starting the bustup with lenny, then he simply crawled away from the rammy and lennon and celtic get all the sh*tty fall out from the “shame game”.

he knows how the sfa/spl works up here, he knows the leanings of the press, in the days that followed and to this day only 1 picture is ever used when talking or writing about said game, lenny with an angry face.

his team lost it, the ref lost it, he lost it, read the card count for the game but if you didnt know better youd think that celtic and lenny were the bad ones that night.

fat sally is a mouthpiece, hope no sympathy whatsoever is aimed at him from any hoops fans.

If you dare to visit the dark side to read their take on the tribunal revelations

Some claim they knew all along SDM was up to no good.

    Some blame the bank.

Some blame the media for not telling them (haha! Choose your media wisely, huns)

Some still blame the SFA for not conducting due dligence.

This last one seems pathetically lame to me, given that RFC did conduct due diligence on Whyte but SDM decided to sell anyway and all the rest decided not to speak out.

Incidentally, they think that someone at Lloyds who forced Murray’s hand has Celtic connections. Bwaahaaahaaaaaaa

  5. one of the biggest slurs is that on the memory of jock stein by their fans. In light of the sfa report and that john greig didnt bring to the attention of the games governing body can we now counter their chants with our own version of; john greig knew, john greig knew……… !!!

  6. So a private investigator had a look into Craig Whyte? That must have been the easiest few bucks ever. A quick Google search, read up on CQN and a few other websites, write a report and submit the invoice.

There’s the flaw in the plan – getting paid. Is there a private detective on the list of creditors?

bhodran man no it doesn’t. Enjoy the really important things in life. Family, friends and Celtic

  8. On the ball stating that success will bring the fans back to the game. Partly correct but the true solution is the Celtic philosophy, success coupled with entertainment. Success itself is not enough.

I live in Australia, my local team had a few great seasons a few years ago, including winning the national title, yet the crowds dropped off. They dropped off because although they were winning, it was utterly boring.

Make it exciting and the crowds will come back.

MY daughter is getting married later this year. Her fiance is from the darkside, although to be fair to him that is his only fault. Now when they announced their engagement my mind immediately went to the doomsday scenario,ma granweans could be huns. Have to say I am sleeping better now in the knowledge they will be attending their first game of football at CP wae their granda,God willing.

the derby game is exciting but should every club in the land work hard to trade within the law while der hun flouts it and spends money they just dont have without fear of punishment?

paolosboots don’t go there mate , I know what you are thinking but don’t sink to there level. Truth will prevail. Jock Stein is the Legend. John Geig is a nobody from a third lanark. That is enough for me.

  15. Fergus for the flag would be a good shout. It will come down to Dermot though as wee Fergus blocked Bertie Ahern visiting the Celtic dressing room and DD was pissed off. It has probably been fixed now.

I would also like Billy McNeil to be involved. He was captain of a team that will never be surpassed in european football ( 11 local lads win the big cup ). This one event was the root cause for the egotistical & financial recklessness of David Murray that has driven rangers to the edge of oblivion.

Looking forward to tomorrow and the European championships ( planning to go to Ireland Croatia game whilst on business ).

At the same time I trust Lawwell and Lenny will have strengthened the Team and the squad , so that we can negotiate the CL qualifiers. With £3m additional with only 1 Scottish team and the additional CL bounty , it would be great for Celtic to have more funds than the whole of the SPL and SFL together.

If Rangers fold or enter the SFL division 3 , Celtic with CL funding will be a whale in a goldfish bowl. It would be highly probable that Dermot could engineer a move south at least to the championship.

A friend of mine worked in a R C primary school and some years ago this person came in to enroll her child who was not Roman Catholic. She insisted that she didnt want her child attending any religious classes. The head teacher stood her ground and told this person that her child would attend every class be it religious or not. She did not come back!!

  18. You know I’m tempted to take a wee trip up to Perth tomorrow. It might just be a historic day.

Mind you I’m hoping for a dull 0 – 0 so that Gary Hooper will go down in history as the last player ever to have scored against them.

  19. Is the most likely scenario now that in a year’s time a Newco starts in SFL3? They will grow organically, leasing Ibrox off Craigy and get into the SPL in 4 or 5 years time.

However, Ticketus will still want their money….

Good shout on Gary Hooper scoring the last goal they concede. A couple of alternatives – Cillian Sheridan, Kirk Broadfoot own goal, in off the ref, ball not crossing the line but goal given, a blatant offside. Let’s go for the 0-0 though.

Re:fergus being booed. From where I was sitting (442), there was booing, but it was at most, 50/50. Indeed there were a few arguments, and at least 1 punch thrown. But to add narrative to that, and I’m not defending the booers, the press, our source of info, really had it in for fergus. People believed what they read. It was just about the only source of info available. My day was a booer. Now? He like most tims realise they were misled. Inviting fergus back would atone for that, and I’m 100% sure when fergus unfurles the flag, every single soul will cheer, clap and chant his name.

No reasoned or passionate debate about their ‘club’. No setting up a rescue plan. No asking why they have not one benefactor or financial brain amongst their ‘global support’. No shame,no regret,no mea culpas. Naw,naw, naw,no them. Just the glaring reflection of the way their violent team play…..blooter,dive,cheat,maim. The sense of untouchability that the corrupt mibs gave them. The ethos of the o.o. Be afraid,be very afraid.

Now they whine & whinge, turning on their own.

I count my blessings that I was born a Tim & a Celt.

And for what it’s worth,I even know a couple of Glaswegian protestants who support Celtic. Why? Because they like the football & the cameraderie, and do not like one little bit what Dodo F.C. represent.

    Nuff sed.
