FORGET RAG RUMOURS, ARMSTRONG’S DELIGHTED TO BE BRENDAN’S BHOY

1

CELTIC supporters who still read the rags will have been brought back down to earth this morning with the “shock” news that Stuart Armstrong is set for a shock move overseas when his current deal is up next summer.

“The 25-year-old playmaker, who starred on his Scotland debut, has been tipped for a big money move to England, but sources close to the player have suggested the ex-Dundee United ace sees his future abroad.’

CQN broke the story shortly after Armstrong’s sensational debut for Scotland that the former Dundee United man’s contract discussions with Celtic had stalled.

We also told you that Armstrong wants to stay at Celtic and that Brendan Rodgers is actively involved in sorting out the issues that were there two weeks ago.

We also told you we had this story – and in CQN’s case was genuinely from a source very close to the action on the player’s side (!), – one week before Stuart put in what Gordon Strachan described as the best international debut he had ever seen.

When Armstrong scored yesterday at Tynecastle and ran towards the Celtic support, those of us there saw first hand the joy on his face and the pride he takes in wearing the Hoops.

Armstrong’s profile and market value has gone through the roof. The player, his agent , his manager and Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell all understand this.

Rodgers wants Armstrong to sign a new deal. Stuart Armstrong wants to stay at Celtic and these facts are presented by CQN who this morning have fuzzy heads and broad smiles.
