With the season’s finish line just a few weeks away, thoughts inevitably turn to squad changes in the months ahead, in particular, who will be subject to a disruptive bid. No matter how long he stays at Celtic, you and I will always worry about keeping hold of Cameron Carter-Vickers. This century, only Virgil van Dijk is comparable in central defensive ability.
Cameron (27) will pick up his fourth league winners medal and hopes to add a third Scottish Cup winners medal to add to the same tally of League Cup golds. He is lightning quick and formidable in the challenge. For the second time in three years, he got a big game out of the way near the end of the season, before dropping out of the squad for treatment. His availability has to be managed.
That’s not to say he would not find a place in an ELP squad, I am sure he would, but if, as I expect, we manage to hold onto the player for another few seasons, it will be because of this fitness overhead. Otherwise, he would be one of three top players I would be worried about this summer.

Just a pity ccv can’t jump to defend set pieces into our box
We built this city on sausage rolls 🎵
Is there no end to this folly?🤔
I was surprised to hear Brendan say CCV would now get some rest time after Ibrox.
If we had even the slightest of concern then he should not have played at Ibrox. He should have been rested and treated alongside Kuhn and AJ – wrapped in cotton wool for the cup final.
I just read an article about a Celtic fan getting fired from his work for alleged gestures about the 66 unfortunate souls that died back in the Ibrox disaster. If that is true and his actions are a sackable offense and that the mainstream media can pick out 1 celtic fan out of 2000, and yet they cannot pick out anyone throwing a bottle, or singing terrible songs about our faith and the death of our Pope amongst the thousands that are belting that shoite out. Now John Swinney has decided that it is rangers problem and not a problem for the police. Dearie Dearie me.

Liverpool say the bidding can start at £30M for Doak ….eh and Maeda ‘s value Celtic !?🤔
Great Stats Stivs, that could be your new moniker if you get carded “STATS STIVS”.🤣
Our Board are top of the class when it comes to finances👏
Long may it continue .
I wonder how long it will be before sections of the fanbase are priced out of attending?
I never saw enough of young Doak when he was with us. 30 million is a lot for a team to stump up for a player that doesn’t play for the selling club on a regular basis. The prices of players down south is ridiculous. Imagine what a Paul McStay would go for these days, or a wee Jinky???????? The deal that we have KT coming back up for no fee is an absolute steal. I do hope wee Greg stays as he brings so much to our team, and takes risks that other defenders don’t. I thought Tony R did well on Sunday, though there was one chance in the 2nd half that I was screaming for him to take a shot when he was in their box.
Looking forward to the game vs Hibs. Always thought we would have made a bid for Martin Boyle back in the day, but I think that ship has sailed. Would love to see young Kenny get a chance between now and the end. We had a striker in the reserves, big Gerry Brittan, great guy, funny as heck. Scored goals for fun in the reserves, but was never really given many first team chances. Legend at Partick Thistle and a very smart guy who became a lawyer.

Decades ago on here I posited that, when it came to bigotry and unacceptable behaviour, R1ngers had a Mount Everest sized problem while ours was akin to Ben Lomond.
They may now be R2ngers but, IMHO, that same proportionality remains.
Doesn’t matter to the SMSM.
For their own reasons, mostly commercial, some cultural, they’ll choose to simply see two mountains.
As for someone being fired from their job due to disgraceful, but not illegal, behaviour in their private live?
Doesn’t sit well with me.
Equally though, I’m disappointed and irritated that a Celtic fan would stoop to this kind of behaviour.
Edginess? Fine
Occasional snarling? Fine
Getting it right up the nasty hordes who are in our faces? Fine
Providing ammo (wrapped & UPS delivered) to the SMSM and Celtic’s enemies?
Forget the morality for a second.
Just plain stupid.

Read the last para – Case in point about cultural factors in SMSM.
I assume Brian McLauchlin has very recently emerged from a 20 year coma.
If so, I wish him well in his ongoing recovery.
This stuff can’t be fixed by indignation and rebuttal.
Rise above it and let this foolish parallel universe continue to diverge from reality ….
… and us.
Doak is already injury prone
Celtic sign Jota from Benfica develope and sell
Liverpool sign Doak from Celtic develope and sell
Works quite well

Good evening all from the Tolbooth. Time for a leisurely stroll to the Brazen Head. Lovely day in old Glasgow Town. You can never have enough good times, make the most of these glorious Glasgow Celtic days. 👍
What did the Romans ever do for us ?

Make a straight road from the Tolbooth to the Brazen.
Non violant actions at football games can be of a despicable nature. Much of it can be done in the heat of the moment.
But should it be a sackable offence that could possibly ruin his life and the lives of his family.?
I do not think so.
What songs and actions will it be next ? We did discuss this potential scienero a while back.
Intrepretation and perception of the establishment could result in dawn raids for songs that they don’t like.
Dangerous precedent i think.
In no way am I defending the vile celebration of the deaths of persons attending a football match, however a very senior politician has recently made equally despicable comments about horrific historic activities.
Yet, the establishment closes ranks and defends her and state ” done in the heat of the moment” ” Its not what she really feels ” subsequently an apology will suffice.

I AGREE Mate.
As for the Celtic fan who was sacked from his Job for mocking the Ibrox disaster, I do wonder what an EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL would make of it, IF he pursued a claim against his former Employers ?
Did it STATE in his Employment Contract, that INSTANT DISMISSAL was an option IF he misbehaved in public, although NOT ILLEGALLY ?
IF I was advising him and he met the criteria to go to an Employment Tribunal, I would advise him to go ahead.
I don’t know this Celtic fans length of time in that particular job, but I DO KNOW that to meet the criteria for an Employment Tribunal it USED to be that you must have worked for at least TWO Years or more with that Employer. It was also the case that the sacked employee MUST have the right of an APPEAL HEARING BEFORE the Employment Tribunal will hear your case.
I went thru that process in 2010, but I don’t know IF the same ” Rules” apply at this time ?

Brendan needs to solve our lack of winning headers in both boxes.
They are glaringly obvious weaknesses, that have been screaming out at us for the last 2 seasons .
After The loss of two last minute goals in last seasons Scottish cup semi final v Aberdeen ,should have been warning enough .
KT is a real upgrade on our two left back options ,but he is vulnerable to a high ball .
It will be negligent if Brendan does not solve this again ,this coming season.

Correct JIMMY. He should have had an investigatory hearing and then a weeks break and also told he can bring someone to represent him at 2nd meeting..
Unless of course the firm he worked for is a nest of HUNS.

One of my most frustrating and saddest times as a Celtic supporter involved the wonderful ,intelligent character that is Gerry Britten .
Desperately in need of a goal we threw on Gerry in the SC semi final v Motherwell the season Motherwell went on to beat DUFC IN THE FINAL .
My heart sank when the depth of our goalscoring threat was exposed Gerry .
He ran about for 10 minutes like a big confused ostrich .
A day late and a dollar short to everything .
O’Neill’s 35 yard screamer still hurts me to this day .
We were soaked standing towards the Rangers end of the uncovered North enclosure .
One of many very sad ,mid week journeys ,home to Fife ,from Hampden, during those dark depressing years from 1989 to 1995 .
I cried like a bairn when big Pierre’s header ,won us the cup in the Peter Grant final of 95.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Back to Basics
It’s a wobbly road young fella. 😂
KT is not vulnerable to high balls. At least no worse than the best fullbacks are.
Celtic had a 5 million a year deal with Nike before new balance paid a record. Addidas took over from new balance 5 years for a record price and after a highly successful partnership signed up to a 10 year deal. No chance is it worth only 6 million a year, likely close to double that.
Get the southstand expanded ASAP and turbocharge the growth of our great club further.
Celtic supporter mocking 66 folk who died when going to a football game is a moron. Mocking sexually abused children, the death of the pope and the death and suffering of million of Irish immigrants and their decendents is also abhorrent. The media condemning the moron are the same one’s who savour the ‘great atmosphere’ inside ibrox. It’s not point scoring if it’s a fact!!!!
Jeez, £10m for a board seat with no voting rights.
Would love to see the fine print of this deal. Best guess is all new signings are recommended by Bloom’s algo and he gets a cut of the sell-on fees from players it recommended.
Tolbooth mobbed. Great craic.
we made an illegal and offensive tifo which was displayed by an entire stand – quick find 1 celtic idiot
We’re on the one road maybe the wobbly road, but we’re together now who cares 🇮🇪

It’s a hard life being a Tim. We keep on winning trophies. Ask Jamesie Forrest, Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Bobby Lennox, King Billy Mcneill. Winning medals isn’t for everyone. Ask a hun. 🤣
Premier sports for the second leg of Inter v Barca I’m very much looking forward to this lasts weeks 3.3 1st leg match was a classic.
