Formidable task for final preseason test

845

I am sure we will see a full strength Celtic team against Inter Milan tomorrow but that doesn’t mean Celtic will be able to overturn their summer form against what will be the best squad of players they have met since facing the same team in the Dublin Cup almost exactly a year ago.  Inter will be formidable opponents.

The experimentation of recent weeks will be set aside as Neil Lennon prepares for next week’s enormously important Champions League qualifying game against HJK Helsinki.  In particular, we are likely to see a more familiar looking back four and midfield.  What happens up front remains to be seen.  Celtic have struggled to get into scoring form preseason; the manager will be keen to resolve this, if possible.

Most of all we need a 90 minutes free of elbows in the face and other injuries as the real stuff is only five days away.

  1. Sally Gunnell is a plain duckling..but only with the help of strategic lighting.

She will be dolled up to reach that plain level on Sunday as it’s her birthday. Many a duckling of varying degrees of plainness has a birthday on that day…..

Auldheid whats your take on the rumours regarding Rangers name etc- HMRC to go after them if they play in the same strip and call themselves after a soon to be liquidated outfit? Focus of the licence ‘negotiations’ should be to emphasise in no uncertain terms the requirement to distance themselves as much as possible from oldco, even if they do play in the same stadium?

  6. Philvis – the one ‘statistic’ you blatantly forget to include in the disparity in income between the rich and the rest of us.

But then that would spoil your argument would it not?

    Here it is:

The poorest 10% of the population now have, between them, 1.3% of the country’s total income and the second poorest 10% have 4%.

In contrast, the richest tenth have 31% and the second richest tenth have 15%. The income of the richest tenth is more than the income of all those on below-

average incomes (i.e. the bottom five tenths) combined.

The top 10% earners (oncome we are talking about here) earn on average 12 times more than the lowest 10%

And of course this is ‘income’ Philvis old chum, not necessarily assets or wealth we are talking about it. For instance 70% of the land in the UK is still owned by 1% of the population.

The rich could and should pay much more in tax. Simple mathematics Philvis – but you need to use all the factors, not just the ones that suit your argument.

Do you think HMRC have advised of their intention to pursue the Huns if Sevco try to replicate the Oldco by using same name , strip etc

Good team selection, and good bench. Can drop Brown when needed (not sure NL will, mind you), and play Forrest on the right, but that would mean dropping one of GS or KC. Like Just dont think we work as well as a team with SB in the middle.

I think its pretty standard that a new company can’t be a mirror image of a liquidated company…. Applied to football I would assume this means any new club can play in the same stadium if it is acquired by someone who wishes to form a new footballing entity and play out of it, but when it comes to names/imagery used etc its a different story and there is uncertainy over whether they can use the name Rangers at all, even if its Rangers 2012. Their fans and media would just call them Rangers, so in this case having a media which panders to their every desire might actually work against them!

I was of the impression BDO would finish the job 6-8 weeks after the CVA was rejected, not 100% on this though.

    Everyone fit I would play

    Commons Kayal. Ki. Ledley

    Sammi

    Hooper

This what I would line up at home, need commons creativity but also ki and ledley as I think they calm things down and will knock it around.

Vic instead of rogne because I think rogne and mulgrew both too slow and static and will get punished in Europe.

If sammi goes missing then early 2nd half sub , swap him with paddy. Pat will find the passes to put hooper thru.
