Formidable task for final preseason test

845

I am sure we will see a full strength Celtic team against Inter Milan tomorrow but that doesn’t mean Celtic will be able to overturn their summer form against what will be the best squad of players they have met since facing the same team in the Dublin Cup almost exactly a year ago.  Inter will be formidable opponents.

The experimentation of recent weeks will be set aside as Neil Lennon prepares for next week’s enormously important Champions League qualifying game against HJK Helsinki.  In particular, we are likely to see a more familiar looking back four and midfield.  What happens up front remains to be seen.  Celtic have struggled to get into scoring form preseason; the manager will be keen to resolve this, if possible.

Most of all we need a 90 minutes free of elbows in the face and other injuries as the real stuff is only five days away.

  1. Kevin Kyle holding talks with huns now. Biggest smoke screen ever! Sevco couldnae afford to re-lay the pitch or buy new towels for the players but are going to offer Black, Beattie and Kyle contracts to play in Division 3.

The Busby/Eaglesham bus still runs but not sure of the pick ups except for outside Williamwood golf course. I see the Bhoys standing there waiting on the bus on matchdays.

  3. To be fair to Kevin Kyle he is just desparate to get a club.

He is Celtic daft. He will be injured all the time so maybe he just wants to use up Sevco dwindling resources on the treatment table.

No doubt he will be known as Knackered Kevin Kyle by the hordes of orcs or KKK for short.

Philvis – I’ll take the ‘so what’s’ as an admission that you can’t respond with coherent argument.

And no I don’t thank them. WOrking people made them rich, working people keep them rich. It is they who should thank me.

And they should pay more tax. Much more. Those that don’t want to should all be allowed to go and live in whatever state will have them where they can develop in to some sort of superhuman race or find out very quickly that their ‘brilliance’ doesn’t make anything useful. You need workers for that.

May I suggest that they all go and live in a Post Office Box in the Cayman Islands or Luxembourg?

i am no class worrier, but to suggest the rich play fairly with regards tax contribution in simply bull and to talk about the poorest in society taking more out of the system due to their needs is madness. when you consider that the poorest in our society often dont have access to quality housing, heating, food, clothing, education and health its not surprising many suffer from more difficulties and require, from time to time, more support, than those who take for granted all of the above. could it not be argued that the inbalance of wealth has resulted in an elite system where opportunities exist for one group and dont for another. in this system is it not true that the wealth distribution in place is actually responsible for many of the problems that you talk about, yet you lay the blame at the poor people. why is it that when the bankers/ elite fall on hard times the government fall over themselves to solve it, yet when the poor many struggles to pay his rent/ mortgage he’s own his own. single parents are demonised in the media but successful rich businesses are given tax incentives to come to britian.

poverty and many of the consequences of poverty are the constructs of our wealth system.

I would much rather have £7m+ than Ki. I’d take £10m for Vic. I’d easily take £3m than Brown. I’d take £10m for Hooper. I’d rather have £1m than Paddy..

I’d rather have Kayal than £5m… I’d rather have Sammi than £4m..

I think we can afford (financially and performance terms) to alter the team significantly and gain a lot..

I didn’t realise you were making an argument. Seemed like you were just pointing out that some people have a lot of money. I already knew that, and it probably didn’t shock the wider CQN community.

So TEN MILLION people are starving in The Yemen,a country whose marketplaces are overflowing with food, because they cannot afford the prices demanded. Those prices,of course, are willingly paid by those who DO have money.

Yup. As I said, poverty is the state of not having enough wealth. Famines are caused by poverty.

The solution to poverty is to create more wealth. That’s why we no longer suffer from famines in the West. We’ve created enough wealth over the last couple of hundred years that our “poor” are much more likely to suffer from being too fat than being too thin.

    That’s progress.

I do believe that is the basis of the much-loved market forces,Philvis, old chap

Yup. Because obviously the Yemen is a beacon of capitalism, market forces, and property rights. Evil top-hatted capitalists must be at work, somehow. Nothing to do with it being a failed society controlled by squabbling clans of Islamic medievalists.
