FORREST RETURNS FOR SEMI CLASH

JAMES FORREST will return for Celtic in tomorrow’s Betfred League Cup semi-final against Hearts at Murrayfield.

The Scotland international winger, who missed the 2-0 Europa League Group B loss to RB Leipzig on Thursday through suspension, will take his place on the flank against Craig Levein’s side.

Brendan Rodgers brought in Lewis Morgan to start in Germany and replaced the youngster in the second-half with Scott Sinclair.

However, Forrest will get the nod for the crucial last-four confrontation in Edinburgh as the Hoops boss looks for a hat-trick of success in the tournament.

Rodgers, though, will be without the banned Dedryck Boyata, sent off in the previous round against St Johnstone, while Jozo Simunovic is included in the squad, but is unlikely to play.

The Croatian centre-back and Cristian Gamboa both sustained injuries in the European tie.

Skipper Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths, Kristoffer Ajer and Youssouf Mulumbu missed the trip to Germany with various ailments and Filip Benkovic was only fit enough to sit on the bench.

SQUAD: Gordon, Lustig, Hendry, Simunovic, Benkovic, Tierney, Ntcham, Rogic, McGregor, Sinclair, Hayes, Edouard, Johnston, Izaguirre, Morgan, Ralston, Bain.
