Forrest’s long road back

465

The last thing James Forrest needed on returning to the first team after a lengthy injury absence is a two-week international break.  James needs games to deliver the match fitness that is simply not possible by training.  It could take him until the end of the season before he is at anything like his best.

John Kennedy will be keen to get James fit for the business end of the Scottish Cup, so I expect he will make substitute appearances in most games over the coming weeks, and perhaps a start on 3 April and play part of the game against Arbroath or Falkirk in the Cup itself.  The Cup is only a landmark, though, like the rest of his teammates, the priority for James is to be in peak condition for the summer’s Champions League qualifiers.

In terms of Sunday, it’s not often I say this, but I think the players owe us one.

  1. The Celtic players will probably make a gesture today in support of Glen Kamara.

Nothing proven yet and part of the same cheating and thuggish team that many fans object to giving a guard of honour, or as I prefer to call ;it a guard of shame.

Showing solidarity with cheats and thugs, but at the same time refusing tto acknowledge that the same cheats and thugs have won the league at a canter.

Interesting, and no you can not separate the gestures.

What did the Brits do when Poland was invaded by the Nazis and then Russia ?

Your no right in the heid mate.

  3. I can see Thuggery of the highest order from the Huns Today…aided and abetted by the Officials.

    Having said that…….

This could be Scott Browns last chance to SMASH Morelos, and really give him something to greet about ?

I can see some Red Cards….Maybe Three or more…I must check the Odds with the Bookies ?

  4. Good morning CQN hope you are all well, it appears we now have a roadmap out of this horrible necessary lockdown

They say Karma is a bitch, the heat from instant Karma currently being felt on the red brick facade at Ibrox must be a raging inferno

Erald Krasniqi is alleging that within the marble staircase, the training center even in the inner sanctum of the dressing room, that he encountered regular comments referencing his nationality these comments certainly could be considered racist, everyday casual workplace racist abuse is IMO far more insidious and damaging to the individual

An employment tribunal in Glasgow on Wednesday is expected to hear claims Krasniqi was subjected to discriminatory comments from Ibrox staff about his nationality and was unfairly dismissed.

He loved his job. He tried to raise concerns while at the club about specific people but he says his claims were brushed away.

“Erald held off making it formal because he didn’t want to lose his job. He only made it formal when he knew he was leaving.

“The case is only at the early stages but he is desperate to clear his name.”

I have no issues with my club making any public gestures in support of anti-racism today as long as Erald Krasniqi is given equal billing with Kamara, anyone EVERYONE is the campaign

    Have a good day

If the game goes ahead this weekend I fear a couple of things might happen

    1) They will go out to do Broonie knowing he could hang up his boots or move to another club.

    2) Broonie knowing he might hang up his boots or move to another club , might exact revenge on the 2 horrible Fkrs. Morelos and Kent……. (PLEASE!!)

Basically I think it will bedlam on and off the pitch.

Oh and McGregor to do one of ours, the guy is a thug……

  6. Gooooood morning all from a lovely sunny morning in the Garden of God

So I hear Huns were out last night putting up the Butchers apron on Dalmarnock road street poles.

Anyone that thinks there wont be gatherings today is burying their head in the sand.

Right whoever the 11 are on that park today better do the following:

    No guard of honour.

No sympathy with any ALLEGED racist comment recipient.

    Win your personal battles.

    Win first or second balls.

    Show heart and commitment

Show pride in that Beautiful jersey.

    100% effort

Shoot more on sight (maybe no RC😂) joking

    Have a touch of arrogance.

Scream and shout for every shy, foul, free kick offside everything.

    Be more direct quicker.

Do all of the above and I’m sure our talent will prevail

I too have discussed having a similar team with my son, having Soro and Broony in those positions with 2 up front, possibly Griff or Klimala. However, Barkas in goal is too big a risk for me.

I would also hope that Broony had learned a few choice Spanish phrases to wind Morelos up – definitely nothing racist, just the equivalent of “Yer maw’s got baws” or “You’re nothing more than a fat, diving bassa.”

    Some predictions for today.

    – Jason Leech will be turn up outside the ground to monitor policing of the neds. There will be cameras and many quotes.

    – Peter Lawwell will defy club policy and form a one man guard of honour for our all conquering visitors.

    – Because Kennedy is in charge the team will have a discernible shape and tactics

    – We will dominate, having 25 shots in the first half hour, 24 of them by Ryan Christie from his own half. Are you watching Southampton?

    – The huns will play in 2nd gear throughout, assisted by every 30/70 decision going in their favour

Scott Brown will play. We will burn out after 60 mins.

    – Morelos will score the winner from 2 inches in the last minute after Bain fluffs a pass back.

    – Jason Leech and Peter Lawwell will form a 2 man guard of honour as they leave the pitch. There will be cameras.

I didn’t know where to start with his post, mate. To be fair, I’m always wary about people who call the Nazis “socialist” or highlight that National Socialist part in English.

True, that’s what the name “nazi” meant but this was to draw in gullible working-class voters – unfortunately, people still seem fooled by the name all these years later.

The Democratic Republic of Korea isn’t “democratic” for example, due to its name.

And you’re spot on – the Poles, Czechs, East Germans etc must’ve been thrilled with this “freedom” we gave them :)

  10. I tend to be against a guard of honour but would have no objection if Lawwell, Desmond and the coaching staff did it and felt the shame and humiliation we’ve had to put up with all season.

Cmon Celtic give us something to smile at, and hold our heads up high. Stand up to the Huns aggro and show them how to play the game. Mon the hoops. Glasgow is Green and White.

  15. For a Club that lost a goalkeeper to a previous incarnation of that crowd that play out of Ibrox we should be coming out in solidarity with goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar.

Has anybody from that despicable club offered any sort of apology for that cowardly, life-threatening challenge or are they still consumed by faux rage about something that was said?

  20. By golly Sky are giving some amount of air time to big Boydy and the Kamara/racism incident. The Roofe assault barely gets a mention so I do hope the Skavia keeper is recovering from his skull fracture and horrific facial wounds.

Did Sky not consider getting a soundbite from “the goalie”. It was he who referred to PVH as a “non-white, unclean, non-protestant, with no father” after saving his penalty.

Although 20-odd years ago it must have affected him deeply as he apparently still talks about it when attending gatherings of the FTP brigade. Not sure if the audience roar with approval or walk out in disgust.

The very idea of Sevco being at the vanguard of any anti racism campaign is like the Kray twins fronting a “ban the knife and cut the strife” initiative.

  21. Springtime for Celtic and history, winter for police and fans.

Green darling shoots of recovery will have to wait till the new Celtic sieve is non porous and has a brand new set up and cast. It’s used to be a summer worry at Celtic, about who was leaving, in the pandemic title flop, it’s a worry about who might not be leaving. Celtic supporters saw Kenny Dalglish in a pre season friendly in Dunfermline by the time we got back to Glasgow, he was Liverpool bound.

We’re not buying 12 -14 players this summer ( we should be? ) and some of the downtoolers and wantaways better be heid doon ar8e up, in the style of James Forrest for the new era, whenever it finally begins. The best left behind in this breaking up squad are merely so so, and if Neil Lennon can be philosophical about ‘not our year’, so can Joe Sixpack, provided he gets value for money.

The loan Celtic verse soft loanee Rainjurz is likely to produce more of the same or can John Kennedy galvanise a squad that isn’t even running on fumes anymore, the performance against the worst Dundee Utd on record, suggests not. There’s only so many variations that haven’t been tried with our realigning and swapping of empty husks. This particular hand picked incompetent referee has never turned up at any SPL game he didn’t make worse.

The new Rainjurz with brand new moral compass will swing into the Celtic way lording it past Billy McNeil and his big cup, ready to resort to Kung Fu football, just in case a semblance of a Celtic turn up. Sadly, there is no dig in the Celtic diamond there never has been, it’s Brown or Soro take your pick and John Kennedy is welded to the outgoing Celtic system. To try to break free, he needs one development player? one inspired selection, one switch, that could swing the balance in our favour. I wish him well but just wish he was more ambitious, for one dream, one soul, one prize, one goal.

God knows we’ve fallen in love.

    Hail Hail
