There has been a bit of chat this week about Fraser Forster making his loan move to Celtic permanent. While there is a chance this could happen, there are hurdles. Not least is Fraser’s Southampton contract, which is in excess of the £70k per week reported this week.
The keeper is the highest paid player at St Mary’s and will enter the final year of his contract in June. On the positive side, Southampton have made it clear they are keen to get him off their books, but I would temper expectations that Fraser would write-off millions of salary to come to Celtic.
Celtic and Southampton have worked through several transfers in recent seasons, including the loan deal for Mohamed Elyounoussi, so there is a possibility an accommodation on Fraser’s deal could be part of a wider package.
The major unknown is where Southampton will play their football next season and who will be making squad selection decisions. They are currently three points from safety in a Premier League relegation spot. Relegation is likely to increase their appetite to offload players who could not get into the current squad.

I thought it was announced a while ago that HMRC had ceased pursuing the damages. You’d think Rangers’ own accountants would have noticed if the taxman was chasing the whole gross amount paid and not simply the tax due on it. The story smells somewhat.

Cheers mate, you are correct in many ways.
There are many Chumps/Nutters on the Internet, and rest assured, I would never try and take them ALL on ?
Same applies to any Chump/nutter on CQN, but I can say that now, because I learned a very important lesson from being on CQN, especially in the last 6 months or more ?
I think I have been Posting on CQN for maybe 3/4 years ( On and Off). During that time I have formed the opinion that there are MANY intelligent, bright, thoughtful, passionate ( about Celtic ), considerate etc etc Posters on here….and also good Celtic Men into the bargain ?
I have conversed with many on here via posting…and also met several at some of The Hoots that I attended.
It has largely been a Joy to be on here for numerous reasons, and putting “Faces” to names/monikers, when ever I did meet them.
Being the Auld guy that I am now, and having been Employed in certain areas for many, many years, where I was DEALING with the PUBLIC, on a “Face to Face” level, AND also taking into account the many, many years spent in the Public Bar Saloons of Glasgow, I have “Prided” myself ( I suppose) in being a very Good judge of character, and I certainly became ” Street Wise”, in my dealings with the Public, Work Colleagues, other Drinkers etc, and as I say in the numerous Glasgow Bar Saloons that I have frequented…especially the Glasgow Bar Saloons that would have been MY “Locals” for periods of time, depending on where I may have been living ?
Being an East End Bhoy has also helped.
My point being, is that it saddened me to witness the ” Low Level” that certain “Posters” on here ( I wont name names again, as we largely KNOW who they were/are), who brought CQN down to that low level ( In MY Opinion), especially in maybe the last Two years or so .
It bothered me ( still does), that certain Chump posters, were determined on a daily basis around the last Two years, to “Hijack” this otherwise excellent Celtic Blog, with their ” Utter Drivel, Tripe and Inane Chump Posts”.
I should also add…that I am 100% GUILTY of Posting some Crap Jokes and Patter on here on occasions….too many occasions , I hear some cry !
It was/is also great to read others opinions on Politics, Social Issues etc etc…some of which I maybe didnt agree with…but I still TRY to respect others opinions….until they go “way over the Top” LOL.
I STILL hold to that opinion however, I have to say that I hold the vast majority of Posters on here, and those I have shared some Beers and Chat with, in the highest esteem. Especially those who continue to put a great deal of their Time and Money into following the Famous Glasgow Celtic…I was once in that bracket. In fact many years ago, I sat down one night and realised that I was actually spending MORE Money ( Three games a week) following and attending Celtic matches all over the Country…than my “Take Home Pay” was, at that particular time….so much for me being smart and street wise etc ” LOL ?
Needless to say that apart from a Pie or Two at Celtic games…I wasnt spending too much on luxuries such as food at home, and being between Marriages…as it mostly went on Match tickets, Travel Costs, Celtic Shirts, Pies / Chips and PLENTY of Ale….obviously LOL !
I for one, realised that drinking plenty of Beer helped me through the early 1990’s ( Before Fergus, Henrik, Jansen etc) watching and following Celtic at times !
I dont think I was alone ?
Anyway back to my point….What did Surprise and Sadden me in the last Two years or so on here, was whenever I did Post on here and make my feelings known in relation to certain “Number 1 Chump”, and his mindless, child like, inane ramblings etc…SOME on here defended that particular Chump, and I was sometimes berated by those same Posters.
Its also fair to say, that some other posters, were in agreement with me…especially those who had good reason to argue and fall out with that very same Chump !
MY surprise and disappointment arose from the fact that SOME of those Posters who berated me, where guys who I knew were intelligent, bright, very thoughtful, and Good Guys ( Judging by their excellent Posts/Opinions over a long period of time) on here, and maybe one or two that I had shared many Beers and Laughs with at a Hoot ?
One or Two of those same Posters ALSO sought to Post “Half Truths and LIES ” about me on SC…I know this as I would sometimes lurk on SC in recent months, and read those ” Half truths and LIES” for myself !
I suppose that I couldnt understand why an Eejit like ME, who could very quickly “Suss Out” certain Chumps ( One Chump …in particular), and those intelligent, bright Good Guys on here that I have earlier referred to… couldn’t or maybe WOULDN’T do likewise…after all The PROOF was there for ALL to read on a daily Basis ?
I STILL cant get my head around that ?
I KNOW who those posters were/are, and any respect that I once had for them has now gone..obviously, but I move on and I can certainly survive without THEMs and their mis guided opinions…and “Half truths and LIES” about me in particular.
